Posted: 1/5/06 at 10:11pmI went to the meeting today and while I didn't necessarily like the meeting itself (I felt like I was at an AA meeting) I did like the encouraging words and personal stories from the people. It really was motivating. I just wanted to go right out and eat a big salad and exercise all night long. But, baby steps . . . baby steps.

If you hate the meetings, you should do it online and use this thread for support. Many of us have been doing it for months and can give you great advice.
Also, the WW site has message boards.

I have not used WW, but for my wife WW was essential to lose the weight after two of the kids and she is now 41 and in perfect shape.

Well, DD, you looked pretty good to me when we met!
But, we'll all get our groove on and lose what we feel we need to!

Posted: 1/6/06 at 9:53amI found seven after my decadent NYC visit. But I'm focused this week and am down two pounds. Back to the treadmill too!

Sit downs. They're as effective as sit ups but much more fun.

Thanks, jerby!
I think part of it was all those white chocolate and eggnogg lattes. No more!

White chocolates were always with skim; eggnogg lowfatt. But there are plenty of calories in the syrup... and I was having about 2 a day.

Well... I'm back to my twice a day plain non-fat lattes.
I give myself one cheat day a week... Saturday. Something to look forward to.

Posted: 1/6/06 at 12:19pmMy treat is a tbsp of 1/2 1/2 in the coffee in the morning - few claories and I think only 4g of fat

Never think of it as cheating!
It's a reward!
I'm bad and have half and half in my coffee every morning....

See, this is why I love WW. It has eliminated all of the thinking that I am seeing in these last few posts. I eat something bad everyday! I drink a LOT of lattes and frap lites. Cookies. Beer. I still lost weight. I budget those bad foods into my daily and weekly points. Therefore, I never have to feel guilty about what I eat or drink as long as I have enough points, meaning as long as I don't go hog wild (a pint of ice cream, 7 beers, a box of cookies, etc)
Free your mind! And the rest will follow!

Posted: 1/6/06 at 12:45pmStarted back up on South Beach about a week and a half ago with plenty of excerise (1/2 of cardio to 1/2 cardo-1/2 weights, 5 days a week). I don't know if I've lost ALOT of weight but I feel a little thinner....kinda scared to get on the scale because I don't wanna be dissapointed.

continue and do the weigh in next week!
Don't focus on the numbers just yet. Just the goal!

Good advice from Cookie. Healthy and long lasting weight loss comes slowly: losing a pound a week. Maybe a pound and a half. Maybe only half pound. Maybe gaining a pound of two this week only to lose it or maybe 3 the next.
Be patient. I've lost 25 pounds--slowly, but with certainty. And, I'm still losing.
