Awesome, spidey!! Now, just remember that from here on, normal and HEALTHY loss will be about .5 to 3 pounds a week. I usually lost 1.5 a week. And some weeks I gained--but then lost the next. Just remember that!

Great job, spider!
I am actually starting Weight Watchers today. I used to be a really fit obsessed person and I've let myself go a bit and I am not happy with it. Plus, I've been eating such crap and I really don't feel well a lot of the time so I have decided to make a change.
Hopefully I can stick to it and it'll work for me. I'd like to lose about 20 lbs or so but I think I'll also watch the inches since I do carry some muscle under the chunk. That way I may have progress even if the weight doesn't seem any different in a given week.

I have been going for about a week P. (I have yet to hit my stride of really "getting it" but I'm getting there. It is of course no surprise to see you are jumping in as well.
I want to lose 20 or 25.

Posted: 1/27/06 at 11:34amsp78, are you sure you should be losing that much? You don't seem like you have an extra 20 or 25 hanging around.

If I lost 25, I would be 155.
I may not want to go that low, it depends upon how much of the mass I have is muscle.
Something about the 155-160 range seems right for my height and bone structure.
If I lose 15 and look like skeletor, I will stop. Hopefully.

I don't know...
Skeletor was pretty hot in the the later years of Masturs of the Universe. He was no Man-At-Arms, but really, who was right?
I weighed in this morning at 220. I would love to be under 200 lbs. I could probably get down to about 185 and still be in my target wait range, but that seems like such a daunting goal to start with.

That is a great thing about the Weight Watchers system (along with many other things) you can make the "long term goal" but also have distinct goals along the way. Such as "20 pounds by June." While still having your goal weight be 185.
I like the way it is set up, it seems to have a good system to encourage long term success.

I am going to try to do it and use this thread and my budding MySpace site as an inspirational tool rather than actually signing up for Weight Watchers online.
I have countless co-workers who are on it so I have access to all the books and everything so hopefully that will help.
As you know all to well with me, sp78 - the camera adds 10lbs and I cannot afford to have that extra 10 added on.
As he can attest, there really isn't a good picture from the last 5 years in existence.

Imagine that, trying to do it without following the "established system." I am SHOCKED, shocked I say.
I am, of course, doing the exact same thing.

Advice request:
To all you dieters, what do you drink when you hit the bar so you can still have fun but not totally blow your diet?

I'm currently eating my breakfast - Optimum Slim cereal.
Nothing like the taste of cardboard in the morning.

For breakfast, I have been having either:
Special K with Red Berries--2 points
OR
two packs of instant Grits--4 points (2 points each)
OR
Scrambled Eggs-- 2 Points a piece

Down 2 pounds from the New Year!
It's small but it's a start - I really did badly over the holidays. I'm just doing the "eat less, exercise more, stupid!" system. I've been very good about doing yoga every day this week, and I feel great, too. Frankly, besides not having the cash to sink into WW, I have enough trouble remembering my own cell phone number, let alone the point values of all the foods I eat in a day.

colleen--a bottle of lite beer is 2 points and a shot of hard liquor (whiskey, rum, vodka) is 2 points.
I drink and still lose weight! I just usually only have about 3 or 4 drinks if I have the points available.

I forgot to say--that's why I order whiskey and diet coke at a bar. I prob sound like a doofus, but I only use 2 points that way.
And a glass of wine is 2 points.

I could always see my feet, bitch.
How are your hands looking these days?

How much are you leaning over?
I can just see my toes and a bit more. I choose to believe it's my breastestes that are blocking the view. But I'm probably lying to myself.
ETA: And knuckles are still wider than the flesh. You?
ETA2: And that wasn't meant as a slight to YOU, Rath. That's actually the test I give MYSELF, to make sure I can see feet. So you were just mean to bring up the hands.
