"I only gained 3 pounds! And, I can drop that in no time. yea!!!!

That's why I love WW--even when I am being bad, I'm not as bad as I think. :)"

Ha! Ha! I know that feeling well. A few weeks ago, I also had a munchie week. I stepped on the scale (always THE SAME SCALE) and the WW weigh-in-gal-of-the-day said "It looks like you have put on three pounds." I looked at her and said with astonishment, "That's ALL?!? I thought I would have been up four or five!"

If I put on a few, I know I can lose it - lost 31 pounds since January (and only about 4 or 5 to go!!!)

"congrats for getting out there to a dance class."

Try three a week. Four, beginning next week. One won't do it.

Hey Addy! Nice to see you in here.

Rath - I'd love to take a dance class for excerise. I don't know of any places near buy that cater to anyone other than young girls though and I'd feel a bit "creepy" doing that.

Yeah, it's definitely easier to find places for that in the city. And I'm on a musical theater performer scholarship there, so I can take as many as I want for my 3-hour a week desk shift.

So that's my weekly workout. Sweet.

That's a really nice perk. Sounds like a lot fun.

One day, I shall live in the city...

It became fun after a while - the first few weeks were better described as torture. I'm at quite an advanced age to begin dance training. Weigh In

Even still, good for you for doing it! It would have been a lot easier not to.

I am inspired. ::looks sheepishly at the ellipitical machine::

I have to say it's the first exercise I've been able to enjoy.

Ever.

Do you do all types of dancing or do you focus on one style?

Because of the scholarship aspect, I am required to take ballet, tap and jazz.

That's right.

Back on the bandwagon...

I have made a committment to work out in the morning. Every morning, for at least 30 minutes. I am on day five.

And I have lost 2 more pounds!

Question for the WW fans - how oh how does one eat only 18-23 points per day? I try and try but eating veggies when I'm really hungry, just isn't cutting it for me. I figure if I amp up the exercise, I can go up to maybe 27 and still lose? Of course, I'm using WW materials from about five years ago, so maybe things have changed up a bit.

Part of my problem is that I don't like all those veggies. I'd much rather have ice cream. Weigh In

Bumping this for those who are currently on WW who might be able to answer peach's questions...

Are there any veggies you like?

I don't really mind veggies - I eat them. I just don't love them (I wish I did). I don't find them filling enough on their own. I usually go for fruit over veggies for snacks.

I do rather enjoy some veggies, however - namely tomatoes (mmmm - fresh from the garden!), asparagus, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini and spinach! Hmmm...maybe I'll make a veggie lasagna...

It's "celery sticks as a snack" or "put some cucumbers slices in some fat-free dip for an afternoon pick me up" that I just feel blah about. I'd rather have an apple or a banana, or a cup of strawberries. But fruit's a point. And at only 18-23 a day, I don't have many points to spare!

So I've decided, if it's fruit I want - it's fruit I will eat. The point differential is negligible. And it's still better than having chips or an ice cream cone, I suppose!

I just don't get how people can stick to 18-23 points a day! It's difficult!

Try eating veggies with hummus. Or something that is both tasty and low point.

I'm on 22 points a day myself. I've been known to average my weekly points over the week so I can have 27 points a day. And, if I work out, that's 4 additional points for that day.

But to stay within 22 points, I have just gotten to where I live on meals that are around 6-7 points, and then I can snack with the remaining points.

For breakfast I often eat non-fat vanilla yogurt with granola and fruit (6 - Weigh In points.

For lunch, I often eat a whole wheat tortilla with cheese and maybe some chicken, beef, or beans - (6 - 9 points)

a salad can be anywhere from 0 points (no dressing) to 1 point (low fat vin or olive oil) to 5 points (blue cheese dressing OR chicken/cheese). Obviously, a salad can be way more depending on the dressing and how much meat or cheese goes in. But the bulk of that meal is veggies, which are 0 points and VERY good for you.

WW recipes and frozen dinners are a good thing--portions are usually 4 - 7 points.

I snack with things like pretzels or those 1 point WW cakes. Tasti D is a FAB FAB FAB way to get your ice cream fix in for LOW points. A Pint is only 4 points!

I drink coffee with Splenda and non fat half and half--that keeps my points way down.

My new thing is to drink Crystal Lite--0 points and can be a great way to get some water in ya in a tasty way.

The other rules I am trying to follow:

don't eat 2 - 3 hours before sleep

drink WATER!!!!

avoid Diet Sodas as much as possible, even though they are 0 points.

Otherwise, I just eat what I want.

Weighed in this morning and lost .8, which I was very happy about. This past weekend I was involved with a large multiple day walk, where there was no "diet" food. Normally after the walk is over, I leave with gaining *at least a pound or two*. So I'm very happy about the loss. Weigh In

Since being sick, I've lost 5 pounds. One week, five pounds. A diet of water, orange juice, water, oatmeal, water, chicken soup, water, softened cheese cubes and water will do that to ya. Mind you, I can't say I'd advise it.

Has anyone tried those 1-point carrot cakes from Weight Watchers? Talk about amazing! Those things are my favorite 'junk' food (except onion rings w/ ketchup :P) and they're not even that bad for you. And they're good with coffee if you don't have time to cook breakfast.

EDIT: Oh, sorry jrb... didn't read your post closely enough. I'm a dork ;P

Fell off the wagon a bit over the weekend - ate chips and cake and the like...gained a pound.

And then - I was sick yesterday so I didn't do any exercise. But I walked two brisk miles before coming into work this morning!

For the WWs - I've been vocal about my love for Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches (2 pts a piece!). Well, last night I discovered the chocolate peanut butter flavor. Oh my - it's yummy!

Hi all. Just bumping this up since it's been a while.

How is everyone doing?

I've been too busy to be good lately and have gone up and down, but I am now firmly planted back at 191.5. That is the 30lb lost mark!

Still 7 lbs to go to hit my original goal, but I am not backtracking so that's a plus. :)

I've lost 2 this week...yee haw!

That's in addition to the one I gained back last week.

So I'm where I should be.

Congrats peach! Doesn't it feel great.

I never really thought of myself as being "fat" rather than "chunky", but I feel so much better. It really shows when I try on some of my older clothes. A suit that I bought last November and had tailored just looks ridiculous on me now.

I've even had to buy a few things in medium. Weigh In I was an XL only guy for a while. It's bittersweet when you have to get rid of some of your favorite clothes, but it's worth it.
