I dont do Weight Watchers, but wanted to post a milestone in my recent struggle to get back to fighting weight....
Instead I am lured into a smutty discussion about oral preferences.

I ACTUALLY lost weight this week! But, I was eating small portions of naughty things and trying to eat salads and good foods. I have been exercising, too. So, yea!! :)
I like the quote WW gave me today:
Here's a quote by Aristotle that we thought might strike a chord with you: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."
And RobbO--how I wish! There have been some HOT boys on the road--especially in places like Kentucky and Ohio--cornfed and YUM! lol

Posted: 7/27/06 at 12:21pmHow do you manage to maintain healthy eating habits when your schedule is all messed up? No time to cook, little time to stop at the store... I always wind up gaining weight when I'm involved in a show... running from work to rehearsal, eating dinner early (6 ish) so that by the time I get out after 10 I'm starving again.

No pink tacos, tho.
Keep it up, Jerby...the weightloss and feeling good about it, I mean.

What kind of meals are you eating, DD?
Are there breaks during rehearsals for you to snack on?
And what are you eating towards the end of the night when you do feel hungry again? (trick for the last bit is to have a bowl of Special K with skim milk... Add a banana if you need to, too!)

*hangs head in shame*
Dinner winds up being fast food... you know, rush out of work and barely have enough time to make it to the theater (it's out in the foothills). I try to be good about bk'fast and lunch.
I tried the cereal thing, but it just opens my appetite.

DD, this is what I did.
I stocked my home full of better snacks. I also bought a digital scale so I can weigh out my portions.
It takes some planning but it's REALLY possible to just portion out your snacks for the day in the morning (or the night before), put them in zip-locs or plastic containers and take them with you.
Grab a couple of pieces of fruit as well. Voila. Instant snacks to tide you over. That way, you'll be less hungry when you get out of work and, even if you do stumble and get fast food, you'll hopefully eat less of it.
And, if you are going to do fast food, seriously, do Subways' 6 grams of fat and under menu.

Posted: 7/27/06 at 12:51pmDD, I normally lose weight when I'm involved with a show. Of course the two shows were heavy dance shows. (Grease, Hello Dolly-Waiter's Gallop was murder-) I found Slim-Fast, even though I detest it normally, really helpful.

I waited until this morning to weigh in because I was wearing heavier clothing yesterday due to meetings. I'm glad I decided to wait because I lost 1.2 pounds from last week. Total loss is 11.6.
When you weigh in each week, do you use the same scale that you used the previous week? I *used* to, but since coming back to WW I haven't thought about it much. However, this week I purposely chose the same scale I weighed in on last week. I'm just curious.

bunnywings: Using the same scale keeps better track of whatever standard errors are within that scale. Many scales can be a few pounds off from each other, just by how they are calibrated. So if you use the same one, you're tracking more accurately.
Calvin: No idea about the Muscle Milk stuff. It sounds like the fats and the proteins in it are designed to mimic what Atkins does, which is have you metabolize fats and replenish protein...

And for the record, my ballet teacher told me this morning that she can't believe how "skinny" I'm getting!! A BALLET TEACHER SAID THAT!!!

Rath, you’re missing one VERY important piece of anatomy that would cause me to seriously check you out.
I lost two inches in the waist, which makes me happy.
