I've lost 2 this week...yee haw!

That's in addition to the one I gained back last week.

So I'm where I should be.

Congrats peach! Doesn't it feel great.

I never really thought of myself as being "fat" rather than "chunky", but I feel so much better. It really shows when I try on some of my older clothes. A suit that I bought last November and had tailored just looks ridiculous on me now.

I've even had to buy a few things in medium. Weigh In I was an XL only guy for a while. It's bittersweet when you have to get rid of some of your favorite clothes, but it's worth it.

"Has anyone tried those 1-point carrot cakes from Weight Watchers? Talk about amazing!"

LOVE them! I just wish the icing was soft.

Yeah, the frosting on them is a little dicey at first, but 10 seconds in the microwave helps.

I'm a bigger fan of the Lemon and Chocolate cakes myself. I'll have one of each and swap the frosting on occasion to shake things up.

I am going to have to try me some of these cakes!

Patronus - indeed. What feels especially great is that my jeans looked hot yesterday! Not tight and uncomfortable!

And I was able to pull out one of my size 6 dresses. The 6s have been sitting in the back of the closet for some time...

You rebel, you!

Thanks for the microwave tip. I'm going to try that. I'm scared that if I try the chocolate cakes, I won' be able to eat just one of them.

I want to caution the notion one falls off the wagon by eating chips and cake. it's not the chips and cake but how much. because if you have the points for it, you aren't falling off the wagon with any food.

having said that, there are foods that are so high in points they may never be able to fit into your week. i'm talking 22 point pastries at starbucks, etc. what we have to do is have a small point friendly amount of something like that--but only buying it if we can indeed ration it. we can have ben & jerry's--but prob only a 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup at a time. that kind of thing.

falling off the wagon should be a mentality reserved for when we start going over our points week after week. maybe even when we stop exercising.

and um jerby is hanging off the wagon hardcore, so he knows!! but we climb back on as we can take it day by day and week by week.

You rebel, you!

Oh yeah! WW frosting swapping is a gateway drug. I'm one carrot cake away from snorting coke off the stomach of a stripper in a seedy Las Vegas motel while listening to Jefferson Airplane and drinking Peach Schnapps.

lol. But you've gotta--I assume--swap the frosting before popping it in the micro?

Jerby - good point. I should clarify that I indeed fell off the wagon altogether that week. I went to a birthday party and simply ate too much food - and too much junkfood at that. But you are aboslutely right. If you budget your chips and cake into the points (which I love to do!), they are not off limits.

I for one, like to get the most bang for my point - so instead of eating a small serving of Doritos, I go for a larger serving of Pirate's Booty (the stuff is addictive), and stuff like that!

ETA: Did you know, 2 slices of Boar's Head bacon is only about 2 points? I was shocked when I did the math, but that's what the label said!

Too bad the cat stole one slice... :) Updated On: 8/30/06 at 11:19 AM

The carrot is the only one I bother microwaving. The others I swap and eat at room temp. Weigh In

True.

I just joined (though I've done it before) and hope to lose the rest of my weight. What I do like is that it's encouraging me to eat more fish. I LOVE shellfish, and it is so low in points. I love that I can go to dinner and have lobster (and a decent amount of it) without worrying!

Desserts aren't that much of a problem (though I love them), because I've always been more of a "food" person. I'd rather have baked ziti than ice cream, for example. And being Jewish AND Italian is doubly hard. lol.

I actually haven't joined. I have the materials from about five years ago, which I'm following. I'm sure some things have changed, but this is still working for me, so I'll keep doing it! I've found it's forced me to eat more veggies, which i don't usually much care for. I've gotten pretty creative in the kitchen trying to "hide" the veggies in other things. : )

Fish is fabulous and SO LOW in points. I've taken to grilling pretty much everything these days. I'm a salmon fanatic.

I've found amping up the exercise has helped me tremedously. I work out at home, in the morning before I get ready for work. Once I got the hang of it, it just became part of routine. Now I just get up and exercise without thinking twice about it. I think it gives me a little metabolic boost first thing - so I'm more "efficient" throughout the day.

i'm thinking of combining ww and south beach for a lil while. I need to reboot my system. i've been craving bad carbs, etc. and south beach will curb that for me--allow me to go after good carbs, which are lower in points.

That's great, peach. I say whatever works for the individual is great. There is NO one way to accomplish weight loss or anything else. I think the only thing that matters is accountability and just doing whatever will make you healthier and happier. I don't stay for the meetings, b/c I don't really get anything of value from the roomful of yentas that frequent my location (nice ladies that they are), and, I don't know, the whole group applause/dynamic/workshop thing is just not for me. I know it helps encourage a lot of people and that's great. I know what I need to do. I know it is up to me. I re-joined because I think the discipline of being weighed will be good for me.

I weighed in this morning and was happy when I found out I stayed the same. Last week, I totally felt as if I fell off the wagon. Weekend party at my aunt's house and I ate all kinds of junk food. I tried to make up for it both Sunday and Monday, as I was very strict in regards to what I ate.

Now I have to motivate myself to get out and walk...

How's everyone doing? I'm constant right now, but can't complain after the weekend (I am less than stellar at keeping points on the weekends).

Note to self when bringing lunch to work - SmartOnes are small...always have a salad to accompany...

Weighed in this morning and I gained 1.8, which I was expecting unfortunately. I've been slacking on everything. Must get back on track.

I like to bump this thread at least once a week...it keeps me in check.

So - how's everyone doing? I am down 1.5 from last week. Yay!

I really haven't been on plan for probably a month, my life has been so crazy lately.

But, I still had managed to lose 5 pounds. Unfortunately this has been a very naughty week and and I think I probably gained at least two of those back.
