Glad to see you are all still working it hardcore.
'ambo, that workout is simply insane, but as long as it works, work it.
Colleen, that sounds like a fun thing to hear, and inches are the best to lose anyway, nice strong bodies are excellent.

I however am quite cowish, although I am not far from my goal weight.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I don't even deserve to post in here anymore.

I've been going down a spiral the past couple of months and have tossed out any semblance of eating well.

I have been remiss in working out properly over the past two or three weeks. I usually work out in the morning - six times a week. But, I've had a rash of early meetings in the office that has me literally getting out of bed, showering, getting presentable, slurping down a cup of coffee, and out the door before 7:00.

I will get back to 6x/week! I've been at 3x/week or so, which I guess isn't terrible, it's just not my regular routine.

I've been eating veggie burgers and sliced tomatoes for breakfast (or sometimes yogurt and fruit when I want something sweet).

The veggie burger in the morning is strangely satisfying and filling. Holds me over for quite a while before I'm hungry again. Who knew?

I've been sick for a while, but unfortunately, it's not the kind of sick that affects the appetite! It will, however, affect my workouts - I'm back at work but still fairly weak, so dancing is out for now. I'll be the Pillsbury Dough Girl again before I know it. weigh in

the week's going good. monday and tuesday went well. i am thinking that i need to drop the second set of calisthenics now that i've upped the weight regimen. i'm skipping a lot of those evening sets. i figure if i lose that evening set and start to up the morning ones with an eye towards an eventual six set morning routine, i'll be good.

i'd be content with a routine that eventually featured six sets of 25 pushups, 50 bicycle crunches, 35 opposite knee crunches and 35 pelvic tilts. that should be about 15 minutes or so and get me loose and awake for the gym. eventually.

as the strikethroughs show, some of my weight-lifting goals were a bit optimistic and had to be lowered. but, benching 175 four times (dangerously without a spotter) left me with a serious permagrin all day long yesterday.

the mrs. is not being exceptionally regular with her workouts and i told her she doesn't have to be. she tends towards obsession and if she gets that kinda thing going on for the workouts then missing one unleashes an ugly downward spiral of guilt. rather than that we're working on her using the gym as a place to relieve stress. that way she's starting to see it not as something she has to do, but as something that she likes to do because of how it makes her feel.

me i do it because i like the idea of my t-shirt sleeves getting a bit tight...which they are starting to do.

It was such a gorgeous night in Chicago last night that I got out and took a brisk walk in the park. It even erupted into segments of jogging! My legs are aching today but I feel good.

I also joined the park district's health center (cheap! $40 for 3 months!) and that starts at the beginning of April.

part five of the 40 days of shedding the gut (starting 19mar07)

the 198 1/2 may have been a false positive as the scales at the y cannot be trusted. so i'm not bothering with weight for a while and will concentrate instead on seeing visual results. wearing a pair of pants that i haven't fit into since ohio? that's a positive.

now this week is time to face reality and accept that i just cannot manage to keep up the morning and evening calisthenics so after work set is gone. to make up for it, the run gets 5 more minutes but to keep it reasonable for the week, speeds are down. weights stay the same this week except for the pull-ups, dips and chin-ups where we lose another 10lbs and face doing the last 4 everyday with no assistance.

i'm built like my dad, and not my size 2 mother also.
it sucks.

i've always been a little chubby, but dropped a lot of weight in middle school, but then before high school put a lot back on again. i wear a size 10, but would love to be a 6 again.
it's just so hard, i don't really know where to begin!
my schedule is insane, between rehearsals all the time, school, homework, and attempting sleep.. it's just difficult.
i don't have lunch at school so i avoid the sodium filled cafeteria food, but i'm still 140 lbs. when i would rather be 120.

any advice anyone?

so after i said i didn't trust the y scale (which i still don't only now more so) i weighed myself this morning for god know what reason. according to the scale, which i now love more than chloe nicole loves anal, i'm at 193. i don't buy it for a second, but god it felt good for a second this morning looking at that.

Oh, I don't think any scale is trustworthy. But I do believe that you need to find or have a consistent scale to use. That way, even if it is untrustworthy in terms of the actual numbers, you can still monitor progress... A drop in numbers on an uncalibrated scale is still a drop...

I just started seeing a nutritionist. This has been my second day with no bread products and was in the foulest f-cking mood imaginable earlier. In the afternoon, one of my colleagues walked around with a bag of Hershey's miniatures, handing them out. I didn't take any, but I wanted to cut the bitch.

I THOUGHT ABOUT that stupid candy on and off for the next two hours. It drive me crazy. I can easily pass up cake, cookies, ice cream, etc., (I'm more into salty foods than sweet foods) but I looove chocolate.

Aw...you're the best, Rath. Thanks. :)

I had mussels with white wine and garlic (all fish is unlimited) and some chopped broccoli for dinner. The shellfish was easy--I love that stuff! But my idea of vegetables is marinara. I have to basically force myself to eat them. I'll be eating out twice this weekend. Italian tomorrow night and Mexican on Sunday. There should be a lot of choices.

well, that was a bad week. twice to the gym and about the same with the exercise and even the lenten sacrifices took a hit.

so, this week is the same as last week and it's get back on the horse week.

this usually happens in week three so i'm impressed i made it this far before i hit the wall and fell out.

but like the song says, pick yourself up, dust yourself off...

I'm on month 5 of my gym membership and I'm still averaging 4x a week!

Folks, it REALLY helps to have a gym buddy - this is the first time I've been so consistent with gym attendence and it's only because I go to the gym with a friend.

I'm very proud of myself, tonight I went out for Chinese food and got a dinner special (which is a smaller portion) and only ate half of it!!!

Just joined WW Online today. I thought I got plenty of exercise at work, but after an hour long brisk walk when I returned home I'm exhausted. I never feel as close to death as when I'm working out.

Here's hoping it gets better.

Back on track with exercise, through yesterday at least.

I am sicker than sick today, so no workout. I'm hoping today's diet of pedialyte and chicken broth will balance out the fact that I can't stand up long enough to exercise. Ugh. I feel like s*%t. Evidently, there are three of us out of work today with the same thing.

I am getting hungry now, seeing I've been able to keep the soup and pedialyte down - I'm thinking of going crazy and making myself some plain white rice! Woo hoo!

Blue - I'm the same way about veggies. I'll eat them because I'm supposed to, but I don't much like them. I try to "hide" them in other things (chop them into soup, eggs, sauces, etc.). I also have a rule that I must eat a veggie at every meal (except breakfast, then I eat fruit). I've gotten to liking them more - my current favorites are cauliflower, carrots, green beans and asparagus.

No veggies for me today. The only good thing about being sick is that you don't have to eat your veggies. :)
