Even when I was in my best shape I coudldn't do chin ups, lol!

I actually dusted off the resistance band last night and played around a little bit. Not too bad.

there is that possibility, cookster. either way, the solution is push fluids, pee it through and keep cranking towards the goal.

to that end, twinnings lemon & ginger caffeine free herb tea is just smashing with a dollop of honey.

Just stay away from the evil assisted chin-ups.

Or those unassisted triceps lifts. Those are the most evil.

i can't do those. for some strange reason they f*ck with my lower back. with or without added weight. damn residual effects of a 19 year-old l-4 compression fracture.

^^Now that I'd like to see!

Note to self - Lean Cuisine Sweet and Sour Chicken = blech. Tastes like rice with melted orange lollipops.

I like the sodium-laden frozen entrees for lunch a couple of times a week to keep the calorie intake in check. But I won't have this one again. Thank goodness I have a salad and some fruit for a snack later.

This morning - Ran three miles. Did killer abs. Did the upper body stuff on the Bowflex.

I'm sooore.

I've gained 5 pounds in two days.

I didn't even know that was possible, but somehow I managed.

And now it will take me probably two weeks to lose it again.

That ticks me off.

channel that anger into your workout, colleen!

And it's a good sore, ain't it, peach?

colleen - that may be just fluctuation or temporary water weight. Seems too short a time span to actually have gained "permanent" weight. I gained 3 pounds last week, and realized it was a direct reult of errrm - "Flo." Drank lots of water and it came right off. Not sure if that's your situation, but bottom line - just work out a little extra and drink a lot of water and it will probably drop back down to normal - hang in there!

Cookie - yes, it's a good sore indeed!

week three starts on monday. as it is i took today off as i have a three kleenex box cold and decided that sleep was more beneficial than sweat in this instance. i am noticing a slight difference under my chin. there's also unconfirmed reports that the slight cleft in my chin that was filled in many moons ago by twinkies and blue ribbons may be re-emerging.

Health first, of course! Hope the cold is slipping away so you can get back on track.

And it sounds like you're most certainly on the right track!

I finally got my hands on a digital scale yesterday, after not having access to a scale since last summer.

Seems I've lost a full 41 lbs. since that time.
