yeah--the core plan is too like South Beach to live on I feel, even if it's more liberal than SB. But, if that works for someone, awesome. the reason I can't live on south beach has more to do with being stuck in situations where you are starving and have few to zero options than limited allowed foods in your day to day routine.

but flex lets you eat anything as long as you budget it. and that ultimately teaches us true portion sizes and true moderation.

I am not going to "join" WW again but I still have the books from when I did it 2 years ago and I am going to follow the rules again. Due to stress and depression, I have lost 20lbs since November. SWEET!!! Just 50 more and I will be at my goal weight. weigh in Seriously though, at my new job they have a thing called "FitLife" and it is a exercise/gym program inside the hospital and they customize your workouts and diet based on your weight, lipid count, blood pressure, blah blah blah. Plus, it's free for employees and you get a HUGE discount on your medical insurance premium if you sign up. I went this morning and got my blood drawn and I am getting my specialized plan Monday. SO Excited!!!

Hey guys... I just joined last Sunday. I had my first weigh in today. I lost five poinds. woooohoooo I am loving the whole thing so far.

So, in the new Complete Food Companion book I was looking up my skim milk. (There are little ads throughout the book) I flip to the dairy section and BAM! Who is there? My beautiful Sara Ramirez. It was fate.

that's great!

i'm losing, but I haven't been on the disciplined workout schedule and eating that I was hoping for.

my life has been so unbelievably busy that I am finding I have to completely reinvent how I approach those two things. finding time and making choices in advance.

Since moving to Texas - I've ballooned all the way back to my all time high after losing a good amount the first go round.

I tried Atkins for a while and it was working for me, but I need more variety to stay interested.

So...my wife and I both signed up for the WW online thing today and have started. I posted my loss via updates on here before and that helped motivate me so I might as well do it again.

Starting Weight 1/27/08: 233 lbs
Goal Weight: 185 lbs
lbs until goal: 48

Had weigh-in this morning. In the past week, I've lost 3.8 pounds. Last week, I actually gained 1.4 pounds, so I'm pretty excited. I'm even more excited that WW didn't take another point away like I thought they would. I understand why you have to lose points as you lose weight, but to me, it always sours my success a bit.

And welcome Patronus! Glad to see another member on board. Good luck to you and your wife. My husband did the WW Online with me for a little while, and it made meal times a lot easier.

It can be very difficult to stay thin in Texas--all that delicious fried food and pecan pies! :)

Just budget it!

I forgot to update last week. I was only down 2.4 pounds, so I was bummed. But I figured being down at ALL is a good thing, right? And too fast is never good. I am down 7.4 in two weeks. Anyway, my next weigh in is in the morning.

Jersey, that's a great two week total! Congrats! Are you doing the points or Core?

We started at work on the 6th, so I weigh in on Wednesday.

Points just works better for me. You can really have anything you want. It's really changed my whole attitude about eating. On my birthday, we went for ice cream. Instead of ordering a medium, I got a kid's portion and ate about half. I looked it up in the little book and counted my points. I started walking three miles a day, then upped it to five. Today I finally joined a gym and worked out for an hour and a half. I really hope I can stick to it. The meetings really help keep me motivated. Well, that and watching The Biggest Loser...lol.

Well, I am responding to myself, but I am down 3.8 this week. So, 11.2 lost in three weeks. Just happy. Just wanted to share.

I've stayed on pretty well since January 1st.
My weight loss total has not been impressive, down 10lbs total.
But I look and feel much better! Inches have been coming off much more consistently.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Congrats jersey!

I maintained my weight last week which is a miracle considering I pretty much ate horribly.

I'm back on point this week - have eliminated all bad food from the house and am even planning some gym time!

Well done, Jersey! I think I'm going to use your progress as my inspiration this week. I definitely need a swift kick in the pants since the last two weeks have been (slight) gains.

Thanks mauri. I am happy with it, especially since I faltered a bit this Sunday. It's easier for me to be regimented with water intake, writing things down, etc., during the work week.
