last year I was working out with weights 3-4 times a week and doing cardio at least twice a week. I was maintaining fairly well foodwise. My weight never really budged one way or the other, but I was clearly losing fat and toning muscle. So dont let the scale upset you if there's a difference physically.
As for now, my life has been so damn crazy, I haven't been working out or eating my best. I had gained 15 pounds last summer thanks to two dudes named ben and jerry and a german mutha****er named haagen. I'm down about 2 or 3 pounds from that. I can't wait to get back to work at the gym.

Liotte, I am down just under 25 since I started. I love it. The meetings really help me stay motivated throughout the week. I absolutely went off plan today, but I will just start all over tomorrow. lol I was up 1 pound my fourth week I think and that was rough, but the next week I lost again. Just stick with it and get creative.
If you are a granola bar fan, Fiber One makes a new bar. The chocolate oat is only 2 points and very yummy. They are good to keep on hand and much cheaper that the WW stuff.

I love those granola bars! I've been eating them for months now, no need to stop now!
My biggest issue that I face is that I work with kids all day long. So I usually tend to eat all the same crap that they do and snack with them throughout the day. My kids are about to really start liking fruits and veggies!

Posted: 3/23/08 at 12:43pmWell, I had the same issue because the kids I work with only like certain foods and we use those snacky things as a reward. There are always chips, cookies, pretzels and candy within my reach to use with them. I started taking my own things that were similar, like pretzel chips or baked lays or the little WW snacks, but all portioned out so I was aware of what I was getting. It really helped. I also keep fruit on hand and drink a low sodium V8 a day. The small cans are 0 points and knocks out one of your veggie servings. (i think the regular v8 tastes better, but there is SO much sodium it's ridiculous)

Posted: 3/23/08 at 7:02pmGood for you, liotte! I work with kids, too, and our staff office is always full of leftover snacks from the day's activities. It's definitely tough. I've been snacking a lot more the last few weeks on that stuff in lieu of better, more balanced meals, so I know I need to work on that.

Posted: 3/24/08 at 9:06amMy WW leader does core and she shared a breakfast recipe with us. She takes a WW oatmeal (you can use any flavored oatmeal packet) three egg whites and a splash of skim milk. Mix it all together. (Dropping it all in a blender is easiest.) Put a little Pam in a nonstick pan heated over medium. Then you just cook the mixture like a pancake. It's core or 4 points on flex. I use some of the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray. Because of the flavor, you don't need syrup. I have it like 3 or 4 times a week with fruit and/or yogurt. It's like my favorite discovery. Strawberty is probably my favorite.

I'm Jewish, can't use Easter as an excuse!!! But if you are going to gain, I think holidays are an ok time for it, or spending time with family on vacation (which granted, is not a vacation!).
My 1st weigh in isn't until Friday, so I have 4 days to go to the gym and get my tuchas in gear before facing that scale.
I have to look into buying some of that WW food, esp the stuff that is on the core program. I know they have a ton of it at the center where I go, so I will stock up on Friday.

Glad to hear you are all doing well on WW! I have a tendency to fluctuate 10 lbs or so, and WW always works for me.
Once Baby Peach arrives (May is not too far off now!) I will probably be joining again to help with the extra poundage. Right now, I am obvioulsy not doing WW!
I have always done Flex, but as of late have been told to watch my sodium intake, so I think Core might be better for me the next time around. Who on here does Core? Is it tougher to follow than Flex?

I don't think that I could do Core, but I've talked to a lot of people who've had success with it. It does sound like it would be better for a lower-sodium diet, though.
I lost 2 pounds this week, but I'm feeling a little guilty because I binged this morning.

Posted: 3/25/08 at 10:55amI actually JUST switched to Core (haven't had my first weigh-in with it yet, so who knows if it's working! lol), but I'm finding already that I'm less obsessed - with Flex I would obsess about food all day - how many points do I have left, have I tracked everything I ate (I fall victim to those evil BLTs...bites, licks and tastes!), and already with Core, I'm obsessing less. I've surrounded myself at work with Core-only foods, and it's easier for my brain to let myself eat what I want (of my own Core foods), when I want (versus having the freedom to basically eat anything I want within my points for the day).

kook, that was my theory in going on core in the first place. But to be able to eat whatever within your daily points is sounding better and better as my cravings get bigger each day!
I think in the long run, core is just better for you health wise and changing your eating habits than eating junk in limited amounts.
