COP27 doesn't seem to have made any difference. People will never wake up. I have lost hope.

Don't ever fly, unless it's a family emergency. Not until there is sustainable aviation fuel. Please.

When the rich and famous stop flying on their private planes then I will think about it. Just curious, how do you suggest the Senators from Hawaii get to Washington DC to do their job.

Is there some special reason they need to be there in person? Maybe use some 21st technology, they don't need to leave their houses. Something else the senate could be doing is bring in high-speed rail lines between cities. Like other civilized places.

Sure, it can be done remotely but IMO you sometimes need to be in the same room as a co-worker to effectively communicate and take care of business. I had boss who had some of his staff work remotely all the time and he hated it. I believe he scheduled some mandatory staff meetings in person just to have people build personal relationships. Have you taken high speed rail lines in other countries? I have taken them in England and Italy and I was not that impressed. Do you like to travel and see the world? How do you suggest getting to Europe for example?

This is an emergency. Travel to Europe is a luxury. I have not flown in about three years, even though I would very much like to. It would trouble my conscience. Pacific islands are sinking while I'm off to see the Eiffel Tower. I understand that air travel is only a small part of that, but there is so little for an individual to do I feel I can at least do this. No plastic. No fast fashion. Covid level restrictions are required, but of course that will never happen. Nobody cares.

From the first Earth Day in 1970, huge strides have been taken to help the planet. Of course, people care but they still want to live decently and possibly see the world. I will give you credit that you are willing to live by your conviction which is unlike the rich/famous hypocrites who don't practice what they preach.

I should also say that it's not just about pacific islands. Climate change will catch up with us all, including you Zeppie. I don't know why you would wait for famous people to give flying before you do. It's about helping yourself. For your own future.

I was being sarcastic because my 5-6 flights a year is nothing in the scheme of things compared to celebrities who hurt the climate by flying on private planes constantly. Anything I do to possibly help the planet is insignificant compared to all the damage done by countries like China and India. Why should I not be selfish and enjoy life (flying) when most of the world and rich people don't give a damn. In the end, you are just a better person than me in regard to this issue.

Or, a better suggestion, please reconsider flying off for your weekend getaways of luxury privilege. People are suffering.

I don't need your unsolicited suggestions, but thanks, anyway.
And just to be clear. I will no longer engage with you or respond to any of your comments addressed to or about me. Please remember to post with courtesy.

That's a relief. Your campaign against me is finally over.
Would you care to apologize before we say goodbye?
I wish you well.

To a degree, and mostly because of recent extreme rains, California is slowly recovering from drought conditions. But it's a struggle. Our yard is given over to succulents that require little water. I do worry about the Great Salt Lake and Lake Mead.

People care now but it's far too late. This planet will be uninhabitable in 40 years.

Are people wrong to even have children now? It seems to be only for selfish reasons. I feel so sorry for any poor soul born today, expected to live another ninety to a hundred years.
