Posted: 9/6/12 at 12:51amThat was a classic Clinton barn-burner but you can tell he was really having fun with the fact that HE KNEW when he riffed that the oh-so calculated Republican love affair for the Clinton years meme by the Romney campaign would get obliterated.

Posted: 9/6/12 at 2:22amWatching Clinton's speech now. It is scary how great of a speaker is. He called the Republicans out on their lies and sh!t and just showed how wrong and misguided the GOP is.

Posted: 9/6/12 at 2:36amHe was sarcastic w/o being sarcastic. Just masterful at public speaking. An intellectual who can actually articulate/explain complex issues to the normal American and be entertaining all at once.

And then he said this, which said it all:
"Though I often disagree with Republicans, I actually never learned to hate them the way the far right that now controls their party seems to hate our president and a lot of other Democrats."

He rocked, plain and simple.
I've always said if he could run for president again he'd win.

1992: "It's the economy, stupid."
2012: "One word: Arithmetic."
Why can't the world have college professors who can actually explain stuff and make it entertaining?

Posted: 9/6/12 at 9:54amThough he may have gone over his alloted time, the speech didn't feel like 45 minutes. I was mesmerized. I watched MSNBC this morning and they said exactly what I said last night, "Now THIS is how a convention is done."

Bill Clinton, thank you. What a speech. So far, the DNC is outshining the RNC.
I think we should start sending Paul Ryan some brass accessories.

Posted: 9/6/12 at 10:18amMSNBC has been doing a fantastic job in their coverage. Rachael Maddow is spot on as an anchor--smart, funny, generous to the other MSNBC contributors. I have learned something every night from her commentary. Great to see her in the key anchor role!!

Posted: 9/6/12 at 10:33amYou can tell how good this convention is by watching Fox News this morning. They were reporting on gas prices or some stupid, completely irrelevant thing. My local fox station's total comment on the speech during this morning's news was "Clinton threw out a lot of jobs numbers but never mentioned Obama's total number of jobs produced." They did that under a header that blared "FACT CHECKING BILL CLINTON."

This should be a bumper sticker
"It Takes Some Brass To Attack a Guy For Doing What You Did" - Bill Clinton on Paul Ryan
This is why Republicans STILL Hate Bill Clinton. They don't have anyone like him on their side. I heard last night that Clinton ranks high with Independents and Bill Clinton did a much bigger favor for Obama than anyone can imagine.
The GOP tried to bring Clinton down and destroy him. Instead it made him stronger and more loved by the public and around the world.

Posted: 9/6/12 at 11:54amSo so so glad to see Clinton in the limelight again, however brief. And I still want to see more of Hillary. I think she's strong, brilliant and every bit as ballsy as Bill.

Posted: 9/6/12 at 12:31pmThe DNC has been one great speech after another. The sense of direction and goals is crystal clear. The DNC has been incredible and much more focused than the RNC.

Emanuel Cleaver's speech has gone through the cracks. Frankly it was a speech worthy for prime time (and outside of Sister Simone and Nuns on a bus, the pre-Clinton speakers for Day 2 were incredibly boring). Even as a secular person, I went 'Amen!' after that speech.
'Color me Democrat! Color me Liberal!'

Posted: 9/6/12 at 2:22pmThe preliminary jobs numbers for this month seem better than expected and the stock market is up > 200 points today, so Obama may get some good news tomorrow when the official jobs report is issued. That could give him even more momentum coming out of the convention, as well as a positive talking point when the debates roll around.
