Tammy Duckworth appears to be the star of the night. The tweets straight from the convention described 'deafening applause' and really patriotic. Plus it is great for somebody in politics to speak openly about the social welfare system as beneficial to them and their families on such a personal level.
Okay, so HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius is speaking so I guess that eliminates the 'cabinet members forbidden' theory for why Hillary is not speaking.

Duckworth was fantastic. The chants of "USA! USA!" were very powerful because they were from people who cared about this country and it's citizens, the complete opposite of when a Republitard chants that.
Oh and side note - on my iPhone, when I start to type the word "Republican", my phone shows the word "Republitard" now. LOL

Posted: 9/4/12 at 9:33pmThat video clip (that I have seen before) made my night. I just wished they showed the part in the debate where he said he would be stronger on gay rights than Ted Kennedy.

I've already cried twice. Once when the mom of the young girl with the heart condition spoke and again when Kal Penn spoke of his male friend watching his boyfriend graduate from the Marine Corps.
Admittedly, my emotional health is a F*CKing rollercoaster these days...but still. I now cannot wait to go to the polling place in November. So...mission accomplished. And it's just the first night.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 9:47pmThroughout the RNC I was imagining Sarah Palin pacing in her fortress of solitude gnashing her teeth and twirling her cape. This week I picture her calling local fox affiliates in Biloxi and Kansas City offering to do a phoner on what she thinks of the convention so far

Anyone else notice that the FOX NEWS stations are not even airing the speechmakers, only having blabbermouth Hannity and his pundits analyzing g-d-knows-what "other" bull****?
TOO SCARED TO EVEN AIR the SPEECHES. Scaredy, lyin' lying scaredycats. So truly pathetic.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 10:13pmC-SPAN is the way to go for the conventions. I did watch the RNC on MSNBC just because of the palpable anger at the lying done by Lawrence O'Donnell, Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews was reassuring.

That was an excellent keynote and now I understand why he was chosen to speak. Glad there are some good Democrats still in Texas.
Senator Mark Warner nearly put me to sleep in 2008 with his keynote.
