Oh, Mr. Grant!
OK...I get that each of us have had reasons to be disappointed over the last 4 years...but who's willing to chip in for the Nawlins band to accompany us to the polls.

That's about the best thing I've read on this board in quite awhile.

Michelle Obama's speech is probably one of the best I've ever heard. AMAZING!

Michelle Obama is my favorite woman on the face of this earth. She is absolutely gorgeous, genuine, and stunning inside and out. A truly extraordinary woman.

Holy Fricking Hell. That was a speech. Any man who can land Michelle Obama deserves to be POTUS.

She had me on the verge of tears. That woman is a goddess. I still can't get over the beauty, emotion, heart, and sincerity in that speech. I don't get emotional that easily, but her speech about did me in. It was that incredible. I could seriously go on and on about absolutely incredible and amazing she is, but words can never do justice. She is truly one of a kind.

Forget Ann Romney, FLOTUS was more eloquent than Mitt could ever hope for.

Michelle put Ann Romney to shame. From the dress to the speech, Michelle totally outdid that phony fake housewife.

I think FLOTUS was amazing, but that doesn't diminish Ann Romney at all. Pundits from both sides are ranking Michelle's performance among the great political performances of our lifetime.

Ann Romney's speech sucked. All she did is basically come out, point at people and tell them what a great guy Mitt is. But unlike the FLOTUS she didn't put it in any context. She didn't tell any personal stories that connected the humanity of her husband to the GOP platform. And her "I LOVE YOU WOMEN!" ad lib was ridiculous. I don't really blame Ann though. It was a poorly written speech.
Michelle Obama did everything right. And she provided the most brutal take down of Mitt Romney so far without even mentioning his name.

Ann Romney did fine. She is not a politician. Michelle's speech last night was just in another stratosphere.

It was a night of ridiculously amazing speeches.
I find the difference between this convention and the Tampa convention to be really astounding. In Tampa, every time a woman or anyone who didn't have skin as white as snow was shown speaking or in the crowd it seemed like such a contrived way of saying "LOOK! We got one!" whereas in NC, we see Men, Women, Black, White, Indian, Asian, Latino, etc. and there's nothing contrived about it.

Joe Scarborough (former Republican congressman) this morning on MSNBC said "I don't think we've necessarily lost, but I saw three speeches last night that were much better than ANYTHING the RNC had to offer. And that was the FIRST NIGHT."

The message on day 1 seems much more consistent and centered than the RNC. I think the RNC had some good moments and speeches, but it was a bit jumbled. And, like Jordan said, it seemed like the focus was like catching fireflies, intent on proving that they actually "have one" regardless of whether the platform actually was consistent with the actions.
Condi Rice gave a good speech, but the policies that the RNC support contradicts the basic message of that speech. Christie looked and sounded like he came right out of central casting from Sopranos, and was much more focused on 2016 than 2012.
I am waiting for Clinton to bring Bubba back to the fold tonight.

I'm very curious to see if Clinton will mention DOMA and say it was a mistake.

I think there's two kinds of people in this country: those who know Bill Clinton is smarter than they'll ever be and HATE him for it, and those of us who love him for it and still hold him in high regard.
I bet that chafes the haters' ass as much as the fact that the current president is black.

Let's face it - the Clinton impeachment verdict could have gone either way. It came down to the Republicans thinking to themselves, "Do we want our legacy to be that we took down one of the most brilliant, well-liked presidents in history?"
