I've sworn off political theater until after the general election.
I'll tune into bbw's play-by-play though.

Ugh, Caroline Kennedy is still the major face of the family. Sorry, I was not impressed with her public bidding for Hillary's seat nor her camp's complaints about Gillibrand who has become a fantastic Senator. Isn't a Kennedy running for Barney Frank's seat? I actually would be interested in seeing 'the next generation'.
Bubba's going to bring it home. It's not a question. It will just happen.
Booker is going to be good, and I hope he actually pulls no punches about Christie and New Jersey.
Interested about Mayor Castro. Not saying Texas is going to turn blue anytime soon but there are a lot of dynamic Democrats in that state with a growing latino population to make things interesting.
Glad Baldwin and Warren get speeches. They're good candidates that need bumps in their races.
Preparing for hateful tweets when Sandra Fluke speaks. May require a Silkwood shower.

Posted: 8/31/12 at 3:48pmAww, Caroline Kennedy was my first childhood crush! I was 4 years old - she was 5 - and she always wore these beautiful dresses and fancy coats - she was like a princess! The little girls I knew from the neighborhood always seemed to have jelly stains on their faces and clothes!

Posted: 9/4/12 at 9:02amI can't say I watched much of the RNC, but the general consensus among pundits from both sides is that there were a lot of terrific speeches, but most of the good speeches occurred before the convention went on the major networks. The stuff they showed to most of the country (Christie, Eastwood, etc) was pretty awful. So, the bar has not been set very high for the Dems, but they do have the problem of competing with the opening game of the NFL season on Wednesday night, when Bill Clinton will be speaking.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 3:26pmHillary can't because she is Secretary of State.Sitting Cabinet members do not do campaigning events. Her position requires her to refrain from participating in partisan political events like conventions. She represents the United States of America not just the Democratic Party.
