I haven't fully caught up yet, but so far my favorite to win is Cameron.
I initially thought that Emily had a great chance and would've been a fantastic and spunky love interest for Santana, so that shows how much I know, but based on likeability and the initial very warm response from the judges to Cameron I imagine he'll be the one to beat - not based necessarily on what's been on the show, but I have a feeling that he's the teachers pet.
I think Damien's accent will work against him - he is quite likeable, and maybe it's just me but I do find his speaking accent a little hard to decipher at times and I wonder if that's something they will factor in when deciding the winner. It's very cute when he's singing though.
I imagine that more than just the winner will appear on the show at some point - they mentioned that Samuel auditioned before through the normal route, and there's nothing to stop the losers from going back that way with the great advantage of being on this show!

"The real shock was Samuel getting a lot of play in this episode and weirdly enough, appearing like a bad person. Yeah he should have been more honest to Nikki about 'taking' Hannah's rap but at least he was honest and told Hannah immediately what he did."

As nice as it was for Damian to speak up to defend Matheus I think he also unintentionally signed his death warrent. Damian brought up that Matheus was getting down over the backstage drama. The business isn't rainbows and roses and if you can't handle people being mean to you maybe the business isn't for you. I have a feeling Matheus wouldn't have brought it up but since Damian did it for him he had no choice but to go down that road. And naming names is a slippery slope - it can come across as tattling to some people. I honestly believe that his having trouble with Alex's was taken into account.
I also think they're setting things up for Alex to go next week. This is just my personal reading of things. Two weeks in a row Ryan took issue with things Alex said/did. Glee is an ensemble show and if someone doesn't do well in a group dynamic then Ryan might think twice about choosing that person to continue.

True - but Ryan had bigger fish to fry this episode. I have to think that it'll stay at the back of his mind should Cameron end up in the bottom 3 again.
That being said - an "actress" who adlibs a kiss ONLY to show up another performer doesn't really have a place on an ensemble show. They're not looking for another Lea - they have her for another year.

Alex is so extremely annoying that if he were to win, I'm not sure I could watch Glee. I'm not sure if his over the top gay bravado is masking deeper insecurities or if he really is just an ass, but either way the sooner he disappears back into obscurity the better.
I keep reading about Lea being a diva, and I have no trouble believing it - but what is this based on?

You're in competition to show your "pairability." You are singing a love duet. Both of the kisses were absolutely in character. If Matteus had kissed Alex, he'd have been called back.

Cameron put a spell on Robert Ulrich and Zach Woodlee with his faux geek chic. They were seriously defending him from Ryan's pretty logical criticisms. Considering Glee's whole super-structure that is more love-octagon than love-triangle, Cameron really had to realize what he was getting himself into. I get that he is a nice singer and put on a unique persona but I now really question that whole persona if he is acting all prude and constantly saying, 'but I am a Christian'. One of the few times I agreed with Lindsey. That should never happen again.

I know the alleged final two and there were some speculation on who won but I have heard different things about that, even though it stayed consistent with who is the final two.
All I will say is the final two are the same gender and definitely could bring their own character. One of them may be especially surprising.. The winner gets the 7 episode arch on the show, already advertised, and the winner are the scorn of Sue Sylvester, Congressional Candidate. Both of the final two definitely have the qualities for Sue to latch onto and act in such a way. No idea when the appearance does happen but I do hope it is soon because regardless of how much I like the winner or not, let's get that out of the way quickly because if they are good, I want them to move to another story arch and if they are bad, I want that winner to come and leave as quickly as possible.

I really do hope the winner gets a good storyline, and actually has a reason to exist, unlike Charice's character. Presumably they will be a student (junior) at McKinley high, with the potential to be a full-time cast member for season 4. I have already imagined several scenarios for the new character to come in, and I hope that Ryan Murphy can match my overactive mind.

I don't care for Glee, but my 14 year old has been watching the Glee project and there is one thing I didn't like hearing: Ryan Murphy keeps discussing writing their roles based on who they actually are....not based on characters they can play. In fact, I see NO acting going on at all -- and no expectation of acting.
(Maybe this explains part of why I don't care for the show.)

I thought that was the worst sort of pandering and was not only over the top but unncessary.
But the spoilers have been 100% accurate thus far.
They absolutely have. The last one I read involves next week and if I'm reading things correctly it's going to be accurate as well. My brother worked on the show and won't tell me a thing other than Lindsay is nice.

^^^That does upset me but it makes more sense considering, IIRC, this was the specific episode where Ryan Murphy has regretted editing because he thought the person's talent should have been enough for them to last longer on the show.

Well, the spoiler of the spoiler was correct and honestly, I really do not get the choice. This definitely was the episode that Ryan Murphy could not defend his choice for elimination. It did not help that their warm up routine in front of a cast member was a hot mess. Almost setting the tone for the night.
Alex, I cannot even begin to describe what I saw. He has far exceeded stereotype and into a 5th dimension of whatever. Him and Cameron showed that really, they are talented, but not a fit for the show. I remember when the first contestant, Bryce, got eliminated his first interviews were off-putting as it seemed he was using the competition as a stepping stone anyway and not really into the show. Cameron seems the same way as he honestly was not prepared at all for this show or what it was about. Seriously, it was like he hadn't had a clue except it was a show where people sing. Alex, all I can say is he has a calling and it ain't a show like Glee.

They were both on the chopping block for the third straight week and used it to their advantage. Cameron used an original song and Alex used it as..... something (rather desperate).

This was the first time I was sad about an elimination. Even though I knew it was coming it didn't soften the blow. I don't think she deserved it over the other two. When they're showing the slow walk to it's always edited to show one person rejoicing and the other two with questionable expressions - neither happy or sad. Tonight the shock on everyone's face struck a cord with me.
