Whew! Let's review **SPOILERS**:
The only reason Hannah is a shock is because of how it was edited. Lindsay and Samuel got creamed, mostly for a culmination of stuff they did and said over the last few weeks, by the judges feedback with Ryan Murphy. Hannah's discussion with the judges was pretty cheery. That said, her vocals were terrible. Winning the homework assignment is just not a good omen for the gingers on the show. Marissa was the precedent that winning the HW assignment or being a first time bottom 3 does not make you safe for the week.
I was warming up to Lindsay, she knows what is up competition-wise, but I am guessing she is not going to win with the way she is getting edited. Nikki for the second straight week was really critical, but this week more damming about her personality. I have a hard time believing the way she is being portrayed is that of a Glee Project winner.
Speaking of which, when Ryan saw Lindsay as a Dianna-Lea hybrid, I could not believe a bulb did not light up in his head with an 'Aha!' moment. Honestly, a villain who is evil and talented, is more appealing than another Queen Bee cheerleader or, what Ryan wanted to see, another underdog for New Directions. Bring me a Veronica Lodge for McKinley High, please! Lindsay does not necessarily have to be that person but I think Ryan Murphy's conundrum of this show staying fresh is getting pretty obvious.
Samuel definitely did not come off well during the bottom 3 which worried. The performance was.... underwhelming and I did not enjoy the Mick Jagger movements. I agree with Lindsay, Samuel is a bit one-note in expression. That said, I wish Ryan had a much better approach about the Samuel-Cameron issues with their family and Christianity. Cameron turtled out and acted heroic when Samuel, even though I completely understand why people were upset about his comments from last week, owned up to it but did not stop the show in its tracks because of it. His interactions with the judges seemed most informal yet even less natural than Lindsay. Sam came off like an American Idol contestant who thought he nailed the audition while Simon Cowell's eyes rolled off the table.
I think Alex did well vocally but he was lucky Nikki saved him by telling Robert and Zack about him remembering his father during the shoot. How could he not have jumped into that state of mind, unrequited love that is same-sexed, immediately?
