Wow. I hope tonight isn't an indication of the Oscars. I was rooting for Chiwetel Ejiofor. When do Oscar noms come out?

As much as I loved AMERICAN HUSTLE, and the performances in it, I would have absolutely voted for Meryl and Lupita in Amy and Jennifer's categories, without even flinching.

Thrilled that 12 YEARS A SLAVE won Best Picture (Drama). It's gonna be an interesting Oscars ceremony; I imagine 12 YEARS A SLAVE will take Best Picture there (as it should), but I do think GRAVITY will win the most awards of the night.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the winners (for the most part). My biggest annoyance is that Tatiana Maslany didn't win for ORPHAN BLACK.

Kudos to the editor of the Woody Allen montage for managing to virtually erase Mia Farrow from his life.

Jay, I think McQueen was just surprised the film won, didn't quite have a planned speech, and his hosannas to Paulson were a mark on her talent than a specific reference.

To be perfectly honest, Jennifer Lawrence's win tonight annoyed me. After having to watch her scoop up all but the BAFTA last year for a merely fine performance in Silver Linings Playbook, I certainly hope this is the last televised win for her this year. I still think Lupita will win come Oscar night.

Leo DiCaprio gave the performance of his career in The Wolf of Wall Street. I certainly hope he makes the cut come Thursday when Oscar nods are announced. His field is very crowded with all around exceptional male performances, so it is possible.

Elisabeth Moss FINALLY WINNING AN AWARD! She was robbed of an Emmy last September for her work on "Top of the Lake," so I was pleased to see her at least get a Globe out of it. Similar to another winner from this evening, Amy Poehler, she seemed genuinely stunned to actually win any award after countless nominations over the years.

And there is no stopping Cate Blanchett this year. She is and will continue to steamroll over her competition a la Natalie Portman or Helen Mirren in their respective winning years. Rightfully so. One of the most top to bottom outstanding female performances in YEARS.

Since when is it "classy" to hold your tongue about a man who molested your child while he was married to you then later married her?

I think Mia's Tweet last night WAS classy. She could have said a lot worse considering what happened to her and her daughter. To trivialize that incident as anything remotely approaching "holding a grudge" is disgusting in and of itself.

Midwest, that Salon piece and that writer drive me insane. That writer is constantly placing transgenderism under homosexuality or rather, transphobia as homophobia. It's the annoying gay white male idea that they need to be the face of all queer lives when sexuality and gender identity are 2 different things. I caught his Twitter feed that read as such an immature wreck through the night. He's out against the movie, which I dont even think is good but whatever, but he also is supposedly a professional writer that appears better fit for a social justice tumblr page.
