The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

Mikey, I guess you missed this passage in your article:

"The partisan back and forth over the spending plan -- called a continuing resolution in legislative jargon -- came after the Senate on Friday restored funding for Obamacare that House Republicans stripped from their original version and sent the proposal back to the House."

Republicans wanted to defund it while postponing it for a year, assuring that no work would be done to fix it and effectively killing it. It's funny that they are now complaining that the website does not work when they were the ones trying to kill it.

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

"your workload increases and your pay decreases in a one year period? Does that make sense to you? Would YOU continue your job if you were put into that situation?"

This happened in my industry and in many others in 2008. Many companies restructured, some people lost their jobs, and other people (like me) found their workloads increased, with a freeze on salaries.

I didn't like it, but I was grateful to still have a job, and we all adjusted.

(I know the circumstances are different. Just saying that yes, it has happened to other people besides physicians.)

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

New York State Medical Society President Sam Unterricht is demanding a congressional probe after learning that one health carrier alone - United Health - is terminating contracts with up to 2100 doctors serving 8000 Medicare Advantage patients. 1 in 3 patients nearly 900,000 are enrolled in Advantage. Federal funding is being pared back by BILLIONS under ACA.

Imagine if a Republican did this.

Source Carl Campanile NY Post 10/25/13

Before you dismiss the source just ask If true how is the democratic party friend of seniors allowing this to happen?

"Imagine if a Republican did this."

Since when is a Health Insurance Company a member of a political party, Roxy? Are you claiming that United Health is a Democrat?

"Just a Guy. Your feelings are touching. I am gladdened by the thought that you will one day wind up 6 feet under as we all do." - MrRoxy ------ "I do not suggest you walk out the door onto a New York street with your vulnerable child part exposed and not protected..." - Jason Bennett

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

I did not miss anything. The Senate sent the amendments back to the House and the House reconvened and sent a counter-proposal to the Senate; to delay the law for one year and to get rid of the tax on medical devices. Harry Reid said, "We will NOT negotiate", and the government shut down.
Now, about 2 weeks later, Democrat members of the Senate are calling for a one year delay in the law. It was Harry Reid's refusal to accept that one year delay that resulted in the government shut down.

Gosh, I thought the etch-a-sketch went away when Romney decisively lost the last election. Apparently not very bright teachers from New Hampshire can shake away recent history and rewrite at will.

So Republicans knew that the website had problems ? Then why did they not tell anyone ? And of course, being technologically savvy, they knew that it will take exactly a year to get it fixed. Talk about your spin control !

Do you think the SNL opening will repeal the healthcare law the way Tina Fey obliterated McCain's campaign?

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

Palin brought down the McCain campaign because it was obvious she was ill prepared to be President. When Tina Fey mocked her and exposed her to ridicule it laid bare her weaknesses and there was no way to gain back the respect she needed to be a viable candidate.

Don't think the same thing can't happen to the ACA. If problems continue and it becomes a joke and is mocked, it won't matter whether it's law. The same people who supported it will just want it to go away.

"So Republicans knew that the website had problems ? Then why did they not tell anyone ?"

What? Republicans knew that Obamacare would be a complete and utter disaster, and they've been saying so since before the law was passed. The fact that it has been a disaster from its first baby steps is no surprise to people like me. The federal government has a record of ZERO for bringing costs down (they always make prices rise) and for ease of use (complications and red tape are synonymous with the federal government). The fact is that folks like me and other conservatives have been warning about the disaster that is Obamacare for years. Why didn't Republicans warn everyone that Obamacare was problematic? Are you KIDDING??

SNL did a bit a few weeks ago on it. This will be the gift that keeps on giving. If they can not get it up and running as promised all bets are off.

The gift that keeps on giving? In other words, you're actually hoping that a plan to make sure that all Americans receive adequate health care fails?

That's messed up.

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

No It is not.

They rip the GOP & no one has a problem with it. They are making light of this in a humorous way and everyone has a cow.

I am not wishing it to fail especially as my wife has a vested interest in it. Since Obama is cutting billions from Medicare I may be affected as well.

You cannot pick and choose who to parody. Everyone from Jon Stewart to Letterman to Leno are ripping it in comedy skits and monologues. The law is simply to unwieldy to work and it depends on young people buying coverage in droves. If this does not happen the bill is in serious trouble.

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) announced Friday that he will file the “If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act” next week.

Using President Barack Obama’s own words against him, Johnson said that the president broke his promise that the Affordable Care Act would not affect those who wanted to stay on their health insurance plan. Johnson said that in a few months millions will have their plans canceled by insurance companies due to Obamacare.

“The ‘If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act’ will amend the law to make Obamacare live up to the promises of the politicians who sold the plan to the American public,” Johnson said.

Good luck that it will ever get passed.

Than again Obama has changed provisions of it when it suited his needs so he could take executive action on his own but do not hold your breath waiting for it.

The comedy derived from ACA is nowhere near the bilge that Bill Maher spews constantly.

Mikey, Obamacare is a lot more than just one website. Republicans wanted to delay and eventually kill the entire law, not just the website. You are confused.

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

I thought the SNL opening was hilarious. I had completely forgotten about Encarta. And the flaming buttons on the low-res site were utter perfection.

To be honest, I can't tell where Roxy really falls, he's mad because his wife needs the ACA immediately and can't get it yet he takes delight in the bumpy road the website has been and seems to want the access his wife needs to be repealed. Given that he has proven himself unable to hold contradictory truths, these conflicting emotions must be making him even more confused than ever.

"Mikey, Obamacare is a lot more than just one website. Republicans wanted to delay and eventually kill the entire law, not just the website. You are confused."

The Democrats are calling for a delay in the individual mandate, not the website. The Republicans called for a one year delay in the individual mandate about a month ago; they were called extortionists, terrorists, and Nazis. The Democrats in the Senate said, "NO WAY! We are not in favor of a delay in the individual mandate!" Now Democrats who are up for re-election in 2014 are calling for the same thing.
Personally, I don't want a delay at all. The worst part about the website not working is that it is denying millions of Americans of sticker shock. The collective, "WHAA?" will be deafening!

The Healthcare.gov website is horrible!

Republicans called for a year delay in the individual mandate in order to kill the law, not a few months extension in order to fix the website. And, yes, they were extortionists and terrorists for shutting down the government and costing us $24 billion.
