I think it must be Adam and Anthony. I saw this mentioned on someone's blog, but since I couldn't find any confirmation of it I didn't bring it up.

Well if it is for people who already have statues and have starred in RENT, the only one I can think of is Mel B. if they have a Spice Girls exhibit there.

Oh, these are two statues that have never been presented before? I am so confused! Strange that if they were unveiling one of Adam, he wouldn't be on hand to celebrate.

I would assume that it's them. When I went to the show on the 6th, they were setting up for the opening of the Playbill exhibit. We had extra time and almost went in, but decided that 1/2 price happy hour at Dave and Buster's would be more fun. Wax Adam and Anthony sounds really, really creepy!

Well, if it isn't them, one could be Idina as Elphaba. If it is an overall broadway themed exhibit.
I've never been there, so I really don't know what is there or how it is laid out or anything. Honestly it creeps the hell out of me, lol.

It sounds like it could be them, but it would be odd for Adam to not be there. Maybe Anthony and...Jesse?

Now I'm kind of confused though - there seems to be a distinction between "current" and "former" stars in that announcement which implies that the statues are of actors not in the show right now. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

It's probably Joey Fatone and someone else, no? If there were wax sculptures of Adam and Anthony at the museum, I think we would have heard about it by now, not to mention that I really don't think they're big enough stars for that.

Why wouldn't it be Joey Fatone and Mel B (Scary Spice)? I know Mel B is definitely there, and boybands were a phenomenon.

Joey Fatone and Mel B. already have statues in the museum, no? I doubt they'd make another for this exhibit. If it's a Playbill exhibit, you never know. I'd have to agree with Lexi, though. I don't feel like they're famous enough. They might display it as being the characters rather than the actors in that case. (Like- here's roommates Mark and Roger from Rent, not OBC members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp.)I wouldn't make a special trip in to see this, but I'm interested to hear what it is.

Wait, I'm confused. Where does it mention that they're unveiling new sculptures? As far as I can tell, the email just mentions that you can take a look around the museum and check out sculptures of two former Rent stars, which could be Mel B and Joey Fatone.

That's what I assumed it would be - I didn't think they would be statues of Adam and Anthony, but of Mark and Roger. I'd say those two characters are probably well known enough, but who knows.

Oh, actually I think you're right. I assumed that since it was the opening night of the new exhibit that meant new wax figures. That probably would make more sense. The blurb made it seem like the figures would be a part of the exhibit.
Hah, Norbert. I was at the movies the other night and had forgotten about him being in the movie with Dane Cook. He popped on screen during previews. No one else cared.

The wording is very confusing - that's for sure! I guess I could see it going either way. If they are unveiling new sculptures, Idina in Wicked seems likely.

I mean it is the NYC times square museum...it would make perfect sense for them to have broadway related characters in their museum. they are on 42nd street no less, lol.

Yeah, the blog said the statues were of Adam and Anthony, but it could have been someone jumping to conclusions. I just posted a question about it.
