re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I wonder what this is all about too. I'm kind of confused re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Speaking of Norbert, I'm so stoked for his new film with Steve Carrell (sp?) and Dane Cook! I saw a commercial for it and I did a little happy dance re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Prepare to be amazed as Playbill Magazine and Madame Tussauds invite you on a fun and educational tour to see just how many stars at Madame Tussauds have Broadway on their resumes.

See, that really makes it sound like they're just going to stick a Rent Playbill beside the Mel B and Joey sculptures. But we can hope.

The link for the release was inside the e-mail that was sent out by VFR, lol. I never bothered checking the e-mail and just went off of the post here. So I opened it and there is the highlighted link! go figure. It was fun playing the guessing game though.

It does sound like that, when they phrase it that way. It seems like an interesting exhibit, in general.

I think you're right. It would have been cute (albeit a little strange) to see Mark and Roger figures, but c'est la vie.

That interview with Anthony was cute. Random question - does he wear his actual glasses as Mark, or are the frames different?

Joey Fatone. I guess it will be like that, after all.

I really enjoyed that interview, thanks for sharing Jenna!

BTW - did we ever hear back on how anthony's chatterbox appearance went?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Based on the press release, it has to be Joey Fatone and Mel B. My understanding was that they were unveiling new wax figures for the display, but obviously not.

I saw a preview for Dan in Real Life before Superbad the other day. It looks really cute.

I didn't hear anything, no. I can't find any videos either.

Is anyone going to Rent on October 7th? I'm scared that date is going to change again, and I'm afraid to buy tickets. Particularly since I don't have the money, but that's another story

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I don't think the date will change again. If it does it would just look really desperate, and as Lexi showed, he has some tour dates already booked.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I can't imagine that the date would change again, so I think it's safe to buy tickets. I'm trying to decide if I should buy them soon, or wait until closer to the date since so many people have been having luck getting good seats last minute.

According to the home page,Anthony's chatterbox is airing on BWW radio on Sunday at noon.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

It's on a school night, so probably not. But I also don't think the date would change again, for the reasons above and also because Adam would need to go home sometime.

So I guess Adam won't be going to that other performance that he's booked for on the 7th.

I'm wondering if I should wait until the last minute too - hmm

Oh whoops. Nevermind, it's not actually on the 7th, but I was talking about that NACA thing in Pennsylvania on the 6th.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Why is everyone claiming there wasn't enough publicity about their return? There have been articles in every major New York paper- some even had another mention when they announced the extension. Just because there's been no televised promotion doesn't mean only the internet junkie fans are the only ones to find out about it. Attendance has been at 100% for 3 weeks and that's still not good enough for you?

And honestly, 90% of the posters on this thread weren't giving Rent's financial success a second thought (or any of their own personal contributions) until Adam and Anthony's return was announced. Don't act as if you're suddenly so concerned; the current demand for publicity is only due to your own desire for Adam to be a part of it, not out of support for a show you wouldn't even be seeing (let alone at a rate of once a week) were Adam not involved. After October 7th, the majority of you will go back to ignoring Rent again and at this point, I'd prefer it run at 70% to all the bullsh*t posing over the past month.

I'm getting ready to leave for NYC now! I'm so excited! I'll post about it on Sunday, hopefully. :)

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Have a great time, GG! I hope everything goes well for you.

Well, for my part it's true that I'm not much of a Renthead, and while I'd be sorry to see it close, my interest mainly revolves around Adam appearing in the show. It's not so much that I'd like to see him on TV, because those promotional appearances are usually pretty shallow, but that I'm concerned that attendance may drop a lot in September. Not only would that be depressing, but also potentially a turn off to Weissler-type producers who may now be looking at him with more interest.

As for those newspaper mentions, I'm sure they've reached only a small fraction of the public. There's a reason why advertisers run their commercials over and over until you want to throw the TV out the window. That's what it takes to really break into public awareness. That kind of blanket coverage certainly isn't necessary, but I do think there are still quite a few potential audience members who haven't been reached.

I hope I'm wrong about all this and the show continues to do really well.

Thanks, Chloe! I'm leaving in half an hour to catch a train...

Last night, as I was falling asleep, my cell phone rang. The ring-tone was La Vie Boheme, which was weird because I had never set that tone to anyone. It did have the effect of getting me even more excited.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Have fun tonight, GuitarGirl!

Like I said, we could argue about the marketing all day. I love Rent, but honestly, no, I probably wouldn't be seeing it right now if they weren't back. I'm just surprised that the marketing people didn't focus more on their return. They've gotten a lot of press, but I just expected more in terms of advertisments I guess. They knew that having Anthony and Adam back would sell tickets, but I brought it up because I'm interested to see what happens now that they've extended.
