re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think yesterday Adam kissed Tamyra, but I've seen Tim not kiss whoever was playing Mimi.

I think I might convince my mom to see it.

I want to drag my dad. He told me he'd go, and that he wants to meet Adam, to which I can really only say, "lol."

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My mom, despite not seeing it, wanted to meet Adam. I might convince her, but I'm not sure. It might be easier with their extended stay.

My dad would most likely say no. I don't think he likes Rent very much.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My mom was Rent reminiscing this weekend - being like "remember when we saw it when it first opened" etc etc. I have a feeling she'd like to see it again sometime soon, but I don't know when she'll get the chance. The whole conversation made me feel very old, though. hehe

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My dad LITERALLY fell asleep when he saw Rent on stage. It was my first time, and I was just sitting there the way a five-year-old does in front of a magician, but my father was fast asleep. He saw the movie and loved it, so I think seeing Adam and Anthony would be really exciting for him. I'd love to win lotto and take him -- my dad is obsessed with the idea of cheap front row seats. He thinks it's the greatest thing ever.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My mom is in love with the idea of Adam and Anthony back in Rent. She was horrified when she learned my cousins had brought me to the show 10 years ago, but now she's like, "even then, I knew..."

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

The only time my mom ever fell asleep was during the City Opera production of Dialogues of the Carmelites in 2005. I think that's the last thing we've seen together, lol. She hasn't seen the Rent movie yet - I'm not sure if she'd like it or not. I want my stepfather to see the show, but that's something that will absolutely never happen.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My dad doesn't understand musicals. During the movie he kept saying "They're singing ANOTHER song?!" and I kept saying, "Um...it's a musical." So maybe the Broadway show wouldn't be the best for him.

My mom, on the other hand, can appreciate a musical if there's a good cast. And this is a good cast. :)

No, your dad doesn't sound like a good candidate for seeing a Broadway musical!

My eyesight probably isn't quite as good as yours, misschung, but I have to say that my best experience was from the tenth row center.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

You're lucky - I haven't been able to score center orchestra seats yet. I've only seen the show from the mezz and orch left and right, but I can imagine how great it is from where you described

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I've had Orchestra Right all 3 times I've seen the musical. If I can go again for Anthony and Adam, I'd love Orchestra Center or Left.

Try performing a musical with someone like that!

I sat in the left orchestra, it was pretty nice.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Man GG you're father and I have similar tastes re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! I think the last time he saw a musical was a touring version of South Pacific. My mom really wanted to go (it's her favorite musical...*insert eyeroll*) so he suprised her with tickets; and like the wonderful husband he is sat through the entire thing without ONE complaint. So there's not a chance in hell he'll ever go to another musical re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! My ma on the other hand likes musicals, but needs to see a show in order to appreciate it fully; she can't listen to cast albums and understand what's going on like I can.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My mom took my dad to see Dreamgirls and Grease on Broadway, and he fell asleep. My whole family went to Tarzan early this year and he fell asleep. I had to keep waking him up.

And he didn't understand the meaning of stage door, but loved it once we did.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I really want my mom to see Rent, but she has absolutely no desire. It's weird because growing up, she thought it was so important for me to be exposed to theater. I wish she wanted to see something that has obviously really influenced me. She also thinks that anyone who stage doors is a stalker. I'd be afraid for her to meet Adam. I'm sure she'd have some choice words, lol.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My mom has met some Rent cast members (Tim Howar, Chris Hanke) and is extremely calm around them, and very polite. So I wouldn't worry for her meeting Adam or Anthony.

Whereas when I met Anthony I couldn't really talk...

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

For some reason I was completely normal when I met Anthony.

I'm in the process of buying tickets to see the show for the last time, and I don't know if I want to see it from the Orchestra or mezz. I like them both for different reasons.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I don't think I can buy tickets for the last show (or in advance at all) until I know I have some source of income. I think I might actually have another obligation closing night, though.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Oh, God, I can't imagine how she I'd be meeting Adam, but I still want to meet him. He sounds incredibly nice.

I really want to see the show again, because it was just so amazing. Just seeing Adam and Anthony in the show was like a dream come true...It's sort of unbelievable.

The sad thing is, not a lot of people I know would realize how important this was to me.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I saw the show this weekend from a right box, and although the seats were indeed partial view, they allowed for a few interesting views.

For one, kinda related to the whole 'Your Eyes' kiss discussion, the 'kiss' between Roger and Mimi at the very end of Act I up on the catwalk, is not really a kiss. Not at all. Adam had his head down near Tamyra's neck/shoulder, but there is no way that they were actually kissing because we could see his entire face (including his mouth). My friend and I both looked at each other and said, 'Um, what are they doing? Sneaky Sneaky.' From every other viewing of the show I've seen, I would have swore they were always indeed kissing though. I wonder if what we saw was the norm?

We could also see a profile of Adam's face all throughout the whole first Act when he is faced away from the audience. The boy yawned about 4 or 5 times ; ) And constantly picked at his nails. I couldn't get myself to stop watching him. It actually proved to be quite distracting.

And just to add, I don't recommed the seats. We were listening to a lot of disemobodied voices and seeing nothing at points during the show (i.e. we completely missed the whole 'are you ok honey' scene).

Maybe, if he was just sick, he didn't want to give her germs. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! I mean, you're right, it would never cross my mind that they were faking it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I saw it from 8th row center last night. Awesome! But I do agree, the Mezz had it's special feel to it as well. Today marked exactly 8 years since the first time I saw it. How time flies!!

Hah, I noticed similar things the other night. He kept cracking his knuckles and picking at his nails. I found myself wondering if he was doing it on purpose or unconciously, but I didn't find it distracting. I also thought he was having a little too much fun during LVB. Roger shouldn't want to be there. It's fun to watch them geniunely enjoy themselves.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

aw, happy anniversary Tink!

I was hoping someone would clarify the "small lovely kiss" for us, because both times that I saw it, I thought it didn't look like they were really kissing at all. I saw Adam yawn and looked kind of pooped the second time, too. Poor guy.

He does seem to have fun in LVB, though. As I said before, he was blatantly cracking up at one point last week. I don't know why though, but it was still funny.

Sweetdisaster - I go back and forth wondering if Roger wants to be there or not. He seems to go back and forth with it
