re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Ilana is a "filmmaker" who evidently aspires to more with Adam. Her managerial functions are ambiguous (and suspect, I'd say).

We've often described Adam's fandom as a competition. If an elevated fan is running Adam's career, that competitive edge will naturally prevent good judgement.

I only have a vague idea of what's going on here, so I don't really have anything to add. The whole thing is very strange.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Reading everything, I have to agree: this whole thing is very strange. Adam does need a real manager who is not his fan (and therefore not biased or competitive against other fans), and he needs one before his career becomes hurt (worse than it could be getting hurt now).

SD (sorry, I have no hope of remembering how to spell your sn, I know it's right there, but there's too much scrolling) I don't even know if at this point it can be considered an argument, all the posts today have pretty much been in agreement, which I'm finding kinda interesting now.

no worries snowy :) i was meaning her/they arguing with us at this point. i've read back a few pages and I find i'm agreeing too. in fact, it's kind of infuriating

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Lexi, I think (hope?) that it's not a matter of Adam not caring about this mismanagement, but more him assuming that everything is being handled properly. We all thought things were going to go in the right direction at first, so why wouldn't he assume the same? It seems as though he has put complete trust in these individuals and is oblivious to the fact that he's probably going to get screwed in the end.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I think that Adam would have to figure out there is something wrong at some point, and assuming that everything will be okay before it's actually set in motion is not a smart move (if he did actually assume).

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I realized something after I posted earlier, about what brina said about the venue needing a website. If you look at the official websites for other Broadway actors, they have a page for their professional contact info. Not a generically-titled Gmail address where everything is filtered through an unnamed source. Their manager, their various agents and representation and their names, business addresses and phone numbers are all listed. Look at the "contact" link on Cheyenne Jackson or Brian Stokes Mitchell's pages, for example (I just used them because I happened to look at both recently). When people suggested he have a manager, I think that is what everyone wanted and expected- someone to professionally handle the business side of MANAGING his career. Cheesy music videos and Facebook pages are amateurish attempts that scream "fangirl".

Skittles, excellent point. Even artists who have much smaller-scaled careers than Adam have readily accessible information re: management and agencies on their official websites.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Just having an official site in general would be a great idea. I haven't checked out these pages thoroughly for management info, but Sara Ramirez, Shoshana Bean, Idina Menzel (although last I checked it was under construction) all have official pages. An official page would come up in google (definitely says something when you google Adam Pascal and end up with sporks), and help to make him and his management appear more credible.

Lexi, I think (hope?) that it's not a matter of Adam not caring about this mismanagement, but more him assuming that everything is being handled properly.

That's more of what I meant - he's not going to actually check up on this stuff to see how his pages are being "promoted." Although, now that I think about it, it isn't really his job to look into it on anything more than a superficial level.

And what are you talking about, skittles? adampascalmusic@gmail.com sounds TOTALLY professional for both a press and booking contact! Not like any person could set that up at all!

Really, just contact Sh-K-Boom, who owns the adampascal.net domain, and ask for an @adampascal.net email address. Who wants to bet that this advice is getting directly forwarded and the email will be changed within a week?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Lexi, that's exactly the problem! It's not his job to double check the work being done by his supposed management team. They seem to have given him the impression that everything is being handled in a professional manner, so why would he question otherwise? Like I said earlier, hopefully this will all be brought to his attention before any permanent damage is done, but I feel like something more than questionable email addresses and MySpace videos will have to occur before he realizes what's happening on his own.

Snowbird, you're exactly right! I just Googled Adam, and the top result was AP.com. I said earlier that I do think that Connie has a great website, but it's not a professional website. It states clearly on the Google search that it's a fan page. Connie's site is followed by Adam's incorrect Wikipedia page, (he was in Footloose? Have those people seen him dance?) IMDB page which offers no new information, his MySpace, and then some random articles and interviews. None of these pages are the polished, professionally run website that he needs at this point.

I think that's what the meandlarry.com website is for (although it doesn't look like it's going to be exactly "polished" based on the webmaster's resume), but that's such a blatantly awful official domain name for general career information. He doesn't need a website for the specific project, he just needs adampascal.com to look like Brian Stokes Mitchell's official site. It's not exquisitely designed, but it's user friendly and has all of the relevant career and contact information (not stokesmusic@GMAIL.com).

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I just realized: Larry has an official website. Adam should have one like it. A lot of tour dates for Adam and Larry are on his site, which is nice, but Adam should take a leaf out of Larry's book and have his own website and management, as others have said.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I really like Larry's site. It's what Adam should have, instead of (or along with) a MySpace and/or the Me and Larry site.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

You know what's another problem (and even more of a reason why Adam needs an official website)? Everything he has that is "official" has fan interaction included. Not even interaction with him, but with each other as well. Facebook, Myspace, etc. He needs an outlet for which he can publicize the tour and the album (whatever he's up to), but where people can only LOOK at it and READ it. As we've discovered, Adam + fandom are not a good combination.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I think you bring up a good point, GG. The MeandLarry.com is a good idea to keep people updated this project, but I still feel like Adam needs his own adam.com website just for him.

And yes, Lexi. Looking back, it's funny to think about how on board we were with the whole idea. Hmm, I hope I never compare my future client's intellegence to a small insect. I'm interested to see how this pans out.

(I just noticed that Larry Edoff as an iLike page, too. Don't even ask me why I decided to search his name.)

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I would have no problem speaking directly to her about how this unprofessional PR campaign of sending you out to shill while offering nothing more than "YOU CAN BELIEVE ME OR NOT!" as your "proof," provided she's interested in hearing my opinion. She hasn't seemed very compelled to reply to my emails in the past.

What I don't understand is why this is even a necessary tactic with regard to information coming from someone who's official? I can't for anything come up with reasoning for why she feels she shouldn't be forthcoming about who she is, and in tandem, where this information is coming from. Why does its source, if it's official, have to be such a big secret? I know I'll get no answers from her minions, but it really just doesn't make ANY sense to me.

Suchandsuch@gmail.com sounds like the addresses that get made up to promote school theater productions and stuff, when people can't or don't want to spend the money for a domain. It doesn't have any air of being official.

And agreed, skittles. There need to be PEOPLE. Representatives. And like I said before, why this woman is not forthcoming about her representation of him is just... weird to the point of being rather suspect. It comes off as disorganized and unprofessional when, like you pointed out, there should be something like "contact ___ at ___@whatever.com," not this completely anonymous, ambiguous thing.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I just realized I had an advertisement for iLike lying around from when I ordered tickets to Rent in October...

I kind of wonder if Adam and Larry have discussed the idea of a website, and of Adam having his own since Larry does. (They probably discussed the idea of a website in general because the Me and Larry site is in the works.)

I really hope Adam takes note of Larry's site and creates an official one. Or get a new manager. Or something along those lines. Bahh I'm so exhausted from cooking up a feast I can't even form coherent sentences re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2.

You're right, brina. I'm really surprised that Adam hasn't already done so, seeing as he's working with Larry.
