The update is that she's impossible. She sent me various emails yesterday, all of which she claims are friendly, but all include condescending remarks. Here's just a sampling of the fun:
- Constant mentions of how I have no regard for the facts, even though I'm not sure what she thought I was trying to accomplish when I asked Cheryl and Connie about the situation (she claims Cheryl, at least, was lying). When I ask Ilana questions, they're interpreted as accusations, but if I don't, then I have no regard for facts.
- Constant reminders of how she's speaking to me only out of courtesy and she owes me nothing. Even if you feel that way, you don't blatantly
say that to someone and then claim you're trying to be friendly.
- "Advice" about alienating law contacts that sounded like a threat, even if she said it wasn't so.
- A line about how she ideally wants to remain in contact with me, and then following it up with saying she will preemptively delete me from her contacts and Facebook (seriously, who
defriends people on those sites?).
- A line about how she'd rather speak on the phone about these issues because she doesn't have the "time" to type answers, but when I pointed out that she had already written paragraphs upon paragraphs, she gave the reason that she didn't want me posting her responses anywhere.
- Constant mentions of how no artist wants fans to control their careers. (Apparently, unless it's her.) We were hardly trying to control his career as much as confused by her PR campaign.
- Constant mentions of how she's totally open about her role, but it took until the fourth email for her to actually
tell me what it was.
- An inability to grasp why we think she controls booking and press, even though inquiries are directed toward her Gmail account (and how she's being condescending, for that matter). She says other people have access to the account, which may be true, but why not just direct inquiries directly at the official representatives?
- And again, constant mentions of how she is not condescending, but then uses her age and experience as an argument against me in the next breath.
Frankly, what stood out the most is that she either has absolutely no idea how she's coming across, or that she was trying to be intentionally patronizing and pass it off as friendliness.
Someone who communicates with any of Adam's fans in this manner clearly should not be given any semblance of control in any aspect of his career. This just demonstrates the problem of having a fan in any sort of leadership position. I would ask that anyone on this thread keep all of what I've posted in mind before supporting any of this woman's future projects with Adam.
Oh, and Ilana? If you're reading this, which I'm sure you aren't considering you said you weren't reading BWW anymore

, I "twisted" none of the above information. I can point to various excerpts from your emails that support each of the above claims. I have the right to communicate with
my friends about my poor experience with someone as much I have the right to describe a bad experience at a restaurant. I know you may have defenses for all of the above behavior, but frankly? No one's interested. Your attitude speaks for itself.
