re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Doesn't he have an agent or anything?

I agree that the lack of actual names is unprofessional, but assuming his agent only deals with his acting endeavors and not his solo music, perhaps she didn't feel it "belonged" on this website. Ideally there would be contact information for his solo music management, but I assume that's his own fault.

Of course, all of this just brings me back to the fact that Adam could benefit from just one, singular sensation! website that effectively combines all aspects of his career, a la Brian Stokes Mitchell, rather than having this website, meandlarry, and the Sh-K-Boom page.

We may be in the minority, but on the other hand, who in general is going to post criticism to him directly, even if they have some? Anything negative will stand out, in that sense.

For what it's worth, there's an agent, manager and publicist listed on Adam's IMDb Pro page. The publicist is Brownstein and Associates, the NYC firm representing Sh-K-Boom. I don't know if the manager is current or not. I'm pretty sure the agent must be, because that's who would have been sending Adam on all those auditions he talks about. They're both in LA.

Exactly, Lexi. I always envisioned something balanced and centralized. Raul's website is one of my favorite examples. It doesn't have a ton of pretty bells and whistles, but it has all the essentials, it's full of information, and it's really professional.

and it doesn't tempt fangirls by providing yet another outlet for their screeching and I LOVE YOU rants. Or posting pictures of HIM.

not that I'd know anything about that. Clearly I'm above such action. *ahem

We may be in the minority, but on the other hand, who in general is going to post criticism to him directly, even if they have some?

I really think it's difficult to list all of the website's flaws directly too him for two reasons: one, it's very hard to know how to effectively articulate to him what we agree are the site's flaws without getting too technical or sounding mean-spirited, even if we have good intentions, and two, anyone who dares to criticize Adam's page is going to be immediately jumped upon by his fans who probably aren't able to grasp the concepts of website design and professionalism. Craww was personally attacked by a subset of them for daring to post a crayon drawing of Adam and Larry on his myspace page. I'm sure that even if I could find a way to effectively articulate the issues where Adam is likely to read it, I'd immediately get a bunch of insults directed at me.

Of course, one could argue that if public opinion is such that most of the fans aren't inclined to consider criticism of a website, what the minority thinks essentially doesn't matter. However, I'd like to believe that criticism of an intelligent few is just as important as quiet agreement from the majority, especially when it comes to the overall impact on his career. While a poorly-designed website may not damage his career terribly, a fantastic website could really help it along.

(and as a sidenote, my comment would be immediately dismissed after reading my name anyway.)

Another good point. Even if the reasoning is valid and not directly attacking Adam, anyone who says anything less-than-positive will probably be jumped on as like, a total hater.

Posting constructive criticism on his page might help, if he reads it. As for fans jumping on it, well, they're people that we (most likely) don't know, so it's not so bad.

I think what Lexi was saying was that the fact that they'd come in droves would mean their attacks would soon bump our points out of sight. They'd get lost with the waves of disagreement and "how dare you" comments. I don't think she meant we'd be offended.

Oh, I see. That wouldn't be good. Maybe we can use the e-mail feature on the site. But it might not be Adam reading them...

It's probably the person who created the site. Who it seems would likely flat-out ignore anything that's not positive.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Honestly I am happy that the site is up, but like others have said it does look very sloppily put together. I also have this anger towards it, which is ridiculous (I know) but it's the truth. I mean yes, this is what people wanted; but it looks so...so...bahh I can't think of a word. Fugly perhaps?

But on a brighter note a big salut to MYB, I haven't seen thee in ages! Oh Bahh I'm inserting Shakespearian shtuff again, which reminds me I need to memorize lines instead of chat. And do homework. And my Girl Scout Gold Award packets. Zut.

This whole situation makes me think of the phrase "Be careful what you wish for", or in this case "be more specific with what you wish for". :P

On another note, I just watched the video of Adam's old band. Wow.... That was...pretty funny.

They're no Bon Jovi. :P

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Sorry to alarm you guys, I meant pass out as in having a nice long nap. I run after 15 toddlers all day, so I'm exhausted by the time I get home. I didn't even wake up when my mom called me at 6, apparently I answered her, but she's obviously crazy.

So I don't exactly love the site, but at least it's something. He has something putting him out there now, and he can take the time to tweak and polish it. Idina Menzel just did that, her old one was great, but not exactly professional. I also love the idea of throwing old videos up, it's a great way to show how far you've come.
