re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

That's a fantastic blog post! I'm completely and totally impressed, and I really do hope that certain people take his words to heart as far as living the message of the show and not just going to the show repeatedly as a means of escaping reality.

I don't know about any of you in other areas, but here in CT I'm currently being bombarded with Rent related advertising. Between the closing, the tour in New Haven, and Adam's concert tomorrow night, it's been a bit crazy! Apparently, there's been so much information floating around that my poor mother confused herself into thinking that Adam and Anthony are in the current tour, which is odd since she knows that I went to see them this summer in New York. Then she told me that if I was wrong about them not being there she would be mad because she would like to go see Rent with me if there were original cast members, which once again is odd because, well, where was she four months ago? I think she finally believes me, but I'd really like to know how she got herself so confused!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I saw this on the main board. I'd never heard it before. I wonder if it's something he said publicly or just to one person.
When Aida closed and he came back he said, "If Rent closes, I'll probally come back. I just hope it's not soon."

lol, Lucky. My mom said the same thing to me about the Rent tour coming near home. She was all excited because she had a discount and thought I'd be so excited to see Adam and Anthony. Speaking of the tour, why does everyone seem so excited at the possiblity of them going on tour? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really hope that doesn't happen.

I heard that too. I think that it would mean a lot to those who live too far away to have make it to the return.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

If Adam is so focused on spending time with his kids, I have a hard time believing he'd go on a full-blown tour.

I'm in that minority with you, though, actually. For personal reasons, I guess. But for me, when something ends, I tend to want to find closure and leave it at that. Leaving the doors ajar and prolonging the end just... hurts.

Jenna, maybe your mom can go with my mom to their made up casting version of the Rent tour?

I just personally can't imagine that Adam and Anthony would make such an exhausting and long commitment by touring, but who knows. There seems to be a lot of mysteries surrounding the closing and future tours and the like, and I'm sure that things will probably get more confusing before there are any definite answers. Maybe I just didn't pay close attention, but I can't recall any other show causing this much speculation when it announced it's closing date.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I can't really see that happening either, just because it seems they both have other things going on. Also, is it common for casts to go on tour after the show closes?

One of my first thoughts when I heard that rumor was, "that can't be true!" And then I realized how many times I said that about big Rent rumors in the past, and they ended up being true. Movie casting and The Return, anyone?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I'll admit that I was so skeptical of Adam and Anthony coming back, and that turned out better than I could've dreamed. I honestly just don't see this being a step in the right direction. There's such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Someone on the main board said something about a stars of Rent or OBC tour. If that was the case, and it was only a 10 city tour, maybe I'd feel differently about it. I just can't see either of them doing a full fledge tour at this point, even though it would no doubt be successful.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I honestly can't see it happening. Though I could see it being very successful (and lord knows I'd LOVE for them to come to the Twin Cities area) I think it be way to much of a good thing for it to occur. Besides, if this was going to be an OBC; I couldn't see any of the other originals wanting to come back. They seem to either be involved in the television or movie industry.

PS: I'm so happy to be back here. I've been really focused on finals/end of the semester for the past month or so; and everything's been just...bleh. I've missed chatting with you guys!

Good to have you back brina!

I'm not sure how I would feel about them going on tour, but I think it's a bit unlikely, at least on Adam's part. Which would make it unlikely on Anthony's part, seeing as he'd probably want someone to tour with. And the OBC coming back for the final performance(s) is very unlikely, given that a lot of them have moved on (way on). Who knows, though? It would be interesting to see them close the show.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Hey brina!

My guess is they'll all be invited to the final show, along with a lot of other former cast and crew members. That's why there were no orchestra seats available for that show after the news broke. Hopefully most of the OBC can make it, but I doubt very much that they would be performing. I don't think that would be fair to them or to the current cast at the time - too time-consuming and emotionally demanding for them, and taking away a special moment from the cast members who are carrying the show now.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

It would be an honor to close a show like Rent, and if they do use the cast members that would've been there already (not OBC members or other stunt-casted actors), they (the cast) would probably be ecstatic. In a way, it would fit in with the spirit of the show, to let not-too-famous actors/actresses get recognized as the ones who closed Rent. It would be a good opportunity for them.

REALLY random dream last night. It was all about me preparing this huge party bash and this like elegant place...setting up..decorations...band...guest list...catering...the whole nine yards. So I went to go get changed into my party dress because it was time for the party to start, and when I get back I see that the party was in honor of Mr. Pascal. Now I don't remember if it was birthday, or what, but just so random. The dream had so many past co workers and random people in my life that to end up the party was for Adam, weird.

My kid never watches The Backyardigans, but she is now obsessed with the episode. At least I can tolerate this one episode because of Adam.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

She'll be 4 in March and she's a musical junkie already. She begs me to listen to my different cast albums already (especially Flower Drum Song and a CD of Raul tracks that I put together). Stands to reason that she'd love this, too!

That's great. Kids can't be exposed to music too early from what I hear. She's the same age as Adam's younger son Monte. He says his kids were already crazy about The Backyardigans before he was on it, and I gather every show contains several songs.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Yup, every single Backyardigans is a mini musical but they're usually just the four little creature things singing with no guest stars or anything.

My daughter already loves Anthony from the You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown revival CD. I actually had to hide it for awhile because she was making me so crazy listening to it constantly.

Topic? I, too, highly doubt the tour rumor is true. I would find it to be a tiny bit hypocritical for them to do it now after Adam's statement blog about loving Rent but moving on.

I just don't know where those rumors are coming from or what to think about them. We'll see.

Adam changed the song on his site player to something unexpected, an APB song called If We LIve. I can't help wondering how much the current situation with Rent influenced his choice. The song has the words:

And I've been waiting all night long to save your soul
But I don't really have a clue
What to do for you
I don't really have a clue

I really like this song a lot more this time around than the first time I heard it.

I remember first hearing that song. It's a pretty good song. Being an older song, I'm surprised he put it on his main player. I figured it would stay in the "vintage" section.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Me too, which is why I wondered if there's a special reason he picked that one.

I found a little article about Alive in the World, including this unfortunately small rehearsal picture. That show has stuck with me. I keep thinking about it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

That's Toby Lightman, Melissa Errico, Adam, Lea Michele and Greg Naughton as they were arranged on stage. For some reason Daniel Reicherd isn't there. He was between the two women on the left. Midway in the show Adam walked over to the far left in order to sing a duet with Toby.
