re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Right, heh. Anthony will look at someone and go, "we've met before," on his own accord. Adam will respond yes when he's asked, but probably about 99% of the time, simply because he knows how to make people happy and tell them what they want to hear. He's not as likely, with fans, to jump out and say it on his own; that happened for me, but it was a completely unusual set of circumstances, and he was prompted by a formal introduction. Like skittles said, it's nothing bad to his credit -- it'd be crazy to expect him to remember people he's only met a few times with the numbers of fans he meets -- and he's simply very good at being charming and working a crowd. He knows how to give people what they want. And when so much of your success is dependent on having a supportive fanbase, that's very important. This is certainly not to say he's not a genuine person or anything of the sort -- I hope everyone knows that I think otherwise, but it's the reality of his position.

I agree, Jenna -- seeing him on stage is one of the things that makes me happiest, but I often do have this fear of sort of burning it out, because there IS such a thing as too much of something good. I don't think it'll happen any time soon, especially if I work not to let it, but at the same time, it's a catch-22, because you want to continue to do things that make you happy, and sometimes you don't realize you're losing steam until it's too late. The process of sort of going back, taking a break, and undoing "damage," so to speak, is painful, because you stop knowing how you're going to react, and it's sad to react negatively to things that made you happy. I'm afraid of that happening with a lot of theater things, though.

Last time, I literally dragged myself there miserably.

then why did you go? lol

Ok, well maybe I wasn't miserable, but I meant that the same feeling of anticipation wasn't there. It was like I was on my way there telling myself I didn't need to be ripping myself away from studying for a 3 hour trip to the city.

I can see how too much of a good thing can be bad.

Today is the day I think I'll start seriously thinking about Adam's Mamaroneck concert...

I don't think any of us were REALLY excited about going to the BB Kings show, Jenna, don't worry. I mean we were, but at that point it was almost like "Oh Adam is doing a show in NY, guess I have to go" type of feeling. Luckily, we all got to sit together and had a pretty fun time.

I always feel bad when I get like that because here I am "complaining" in a way about going, and yet there are people who have never had the chance to see him live yet. But I guess that can be true with mostly anything in life though.

i think it can be a case of too much of a good thing, but i guess i'm one of those types who never tires of a concert. i've been known to catch as many shows as i can of an artist i really enjoy. maybe i'm different, i never tire of stuff like that.

isn't he doing Next to Normal at Second Stage? And I know he was involved with that indie film Scaring the Fish, but I'm not sure where it stands in terms of production or a release date.

Jenna, I know what you mean, I was teasing. The phrase "dragged myself miserably" in reference to an Adam concert just struck me as funny, hehe.

I am probably the only one who was totally ecstatic about BB Kings, lol

i'm not sure the Next to Normal thing was a done deal, i've heard conflicting stories.

i don't think i would ever have to drag myself to a show... adam or anyone else.

adam is pretty much all i've listened to since the beginning of september and i'm not tired of him.

Casting hasn't been released for Next to Normal. He's been with it since the NYMF 2004 production, but things always change.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

we listen to Adam's music all the time, we never tire of it. when we went to his show last year, we really wanted to go to the saturday show as well, but I was starting a new job that day and we just couldn't go. we would of, if we could have.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I was excited. =P It had been a while, right? At that point I was just hoping I'd be ABLE to go, I was so f-ing sick.

They haven't released official casting information for the Second Stage production yet, but Anthony has more than once publicly expressed that he'd like to stay invovled with the show, so long as he's avaiable -- which I believe he is. And besides, the fact that Michael Greif seems like it adds to the likelihood of Anthony being in it. I'd think they'll be announcing casting soon, though.

i'm almost ashamed to say this, but is there a synopsis of the show somewhere, i'm not familiar with it.

I've made progress: I am free the night of Adam's show, which is a good thing. :)

The general concept is the same, but the plot specifics are different from the workshop description. The "plot summary" section of Wikipedia is more accurate than the "synopsis" section.
