Rentsecrets are up.
I'm sure everyone cares.
Warning: They're the worst (i.e. most boring) yet.
Surprisingly, I agree with a few of them. #19 -- YES. Love #7 because it's so truuue.

Hey.
I can't believe I look at these *has no life*
I don't know, I find them a little more fun than last week's bunch. But Rentsecrets doesn't even fall in the "guilty pleasure" category anymore, they're more like a guilty pain.

*giggles*
they are pretty boringgg
#5 is dumb.
Lexi, you win for the day both a) because of your rentsecrets comment about the responses to someone saying that Anthony is gay and b) you pointed out that the picture of Michael Cerveris posted in Chrysanthemum's birthday thread is absolutely THE WORST picture that I've EVER seen of him. No wonder people think he's unattractive.
It seems like #7 could have come from here.

Love you, Ashley. The only Rent-related argument I hate more than the "Anthony is gay/no he's bi" argument is the "Benny has AIDS/no, Mimi didn't sleep with him/no, it's difficult for females to transmit HIV to males" argument. It's called open to interpretation, people.
That photo of Cerveris looked like, um, what I said it looked like in the other thread and/or a fetus.
Chloe, I didn't make #7 (I think we all know that I use Photoshop, not Paint ), but I agree with it 100%. I don't see the appeal in sleeping with someone who's approximately my size (well, not really, but still), but whatever floats your boat...
I'd take Anthony over Adam. *weird*

No, Mandi, you're not weird! In fact, I wonder if more people feel the way you do. I just... don't understand the sexual attractiveness of Anthony Rapp, but as I've said countless times before, that's just me.
It's all good. I mean, I don't understand sexual attractiveness of Raul. *shrug*
I think we all know that I use Photoshop, not Paint
Like I could tell the difference...
Anyway, I wasn't hinting about you in particular, just remembering similar comments in the thread about Adam's expression in that picture.
God, it was such a horrible picture! You're supposed to be brightening her day, heh. I tried to help make up for it by posting a good (I think) picture of Michael and Raul.
I could have gone my entire life happily without needing to know the info in #20. *scarred*
Pretty tame secrets this week, but #6 made me laugh so hard I nearly choked on a chunk of tofu. "OMG I didn't post a rentsecret last week! I feel so empty!"

Heh, Chloe. I was being somewhat facetious, but Paint produces those white text boxes around the text.
One last thing regarding the Anthony gay/bisexual/queer debate: Anthony realizes that in calling himself "queer," he's essentially slapping a different label onto himself, correct? While it's maybe not a common label, it's a label of sorts nonetheless.
They all just think that they know everything about him, and what he wants to be called, after reading his book. *shrug*
That's true, but I think the point is that he doesn't want to be defined based on who he sleeps with, and "queer" doesn't really have a direct association with sexual preference.
On another note, I fiiiinally got the full cast recording of Ragtime (before I had the concept recording, shamefully), and it is heavenly. I've been blaring it all day. So amazing.

Didn't the whole "Anthony wants to be called 'queer'" line come from a quote of his saying that "labels are for cans, not people"? It seems odd to me that he dislikes being "labeled" gay or bisexual, but the label of "queer" is ok. Heh.
That's true, but I think the point is that he doesn't want to be defined based on who he sleeps with, and "queer" doesn't really have a direct association with sexual preference.
Ah, ok, I see. I don't know if you avoid defining yourself based on your sexual preference if you refer to yourself as queer instead of gay or bisexual, but it makes a bit more sense.

I found #6 hard to understand - I thought it was about how posting a secret previously had made the person feel guilty and empty, but it's very hard to parse.
Fantasies are so incredibly personal, it's a little silly to even argue about them. And they can serve a sort of therapeutic purpose. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it. )
I can see Anthony as a choice for young girls, because he's even more unavailable (and therefore unthreatening) than most guys, but also seemingly very warm and approachable. We're all telling ourselves stories to help find a way through the maze, or comfort ourselves, or even repeat an uncomfortable situation because it's what we're used to. I find it fascinating.
#6 is worded very awkwardly, but I interpreted it as the person feeling empty and guilty because they hadn't posted a secret the previous week after posting secrets for each of the two weeks before that. I found it highly amusing and so typical of the melodramatic LJer mentality.

Chloe, I hope you don't think I was trying to argue over the merits of Adam and Anthony. I mean, if someone is attracted to Anthony, more power to that person. I personally just don't see it.
I agree with your reasoning behind Anthony being an easy choice for young girls. Jessica and I actually had an interesting discussion about this once, complete with boyband parallels.
What do you mean about telling ourselves stories to help us find our way through the maze or comfort ourselves? I don't disagree, but how does that pertain to girls liking Anthony? It sounds interesting, but I think I'm just missing the link.

Not at all, Lexi, just musing about the inherent irrationality of all fantasies. What I said about telling ourselves stories wasn't specifically about Anthony, but about fantasies in general. I periodically try to figure out what my own mean, and that's a bit of what I've come up with.

That's interesting, Chloe. I've never really been one to dissect my dreams, fantasies, and whatnot, but that's a very enlightening thought.
I'm nearly positive that everyone on this thread already has it, but I uploaded Adam singing Pity the Child for another message board where someone requested it. It's a high quality version that I ripped from the video. If by chance you don't have it, feel free to PM me and I'll send you a link.

Yaaaaaaay, Urinetown tomorrow! I found someone to take my extra ticket. So. Excited.

Bohemian, it's no doubt because the excitement over the movie is dying down. Strangely enough, I'm beginning to miss the days of the Cary drama. At least it was something to entertain me!
Allie, I never saw Urinetown on Broadway, but I've heard a couple songs from it and loved them.
I'm experiencing numbness/tingling in my thumb and first few fingers of both of my hands. I don't know what it is and it's freaking me out a bit.
