Great Allie - have a wonderful time.
Someone posted that Will Chase will be on the new show Convictions tonight. It's on here at 10pm on NBC. I've never seen him in anything, so I'm curious to watch.

Chloe, I'm not sure if you're already aware of this, but there's a clip of Will and Michelle Williams (from Destiny's Child) singing Elaborate Lives on YouTube. I actually didn't really love his voice in the clip, but perhaps it's because I was subconsciously comparing it with Adam's voice.

Thanks, guys!
Oooh, siamese, I saw that. She's not very good, eek.
Oooh, yay! I saw Will in Rent twice and thought he was excellent as Roger, and I downloaded the pilot episode of Conviction (they were offering it on iTunes for free, and you know how it is with college students and free stuff ) and really liked it, so this is doubly cool, or something like that.
ETA: Allie, if you think Michelle was bad in that clip, you should hear her in Destiny's Child. I don't know why Beyonce & Co. let her have solo moments, however brief, in their recent songs.
Heee, have y'all seen the clip of Destiny's Child performing on some TV show where Michelle trips and falls and the other 2 girls just keep on singing like nothing happened? Priceless.
Ooops, double post

Hah, no, I haven't, although I was somewhat of a Destiny's Child fan back in the day. I still like that Jumpin', Jumpin' song, guilty pleasure it may be.
::watches Adam and Heather::
Thanks for the heads up, though I'm not sure I want to see anyone else as Radames right now.
Lexi, try rubbing around your shoulders and see if you find some spots that are tense and sensitive. Your tingling is probably coming from there.
Heh, Jumpin' Jumpin' (and pretty much everything else on that album) is just perfect late-90s pop (one of my big weaknesses). Their last album was pretty disappointing aside from a few songs, though, and that Cater 2 U song made me want to vomit.
Michelle sounds awful in the clips that I've seen/heard.
I loved Jumpin' Jumpin'.

Chloe, trust me, it'll probably just reaffirm your love for Adam. I understand if you don't want to taint (heh, such a strong word I'm using!) your image of the character with other actors, though. I felt that way with regards to Chess for a while. Even though the 2003 benefit concert was one of the most recent incarnations of Chess, I couldn't imagine anyone other than Adam as Freddie, or Raul as the Arbiter, etc. I eventually caved and downloaded them, but I can't help but think "this isn't the true (insert character here)!" when listening to other recordings. Of course, it's completely irrational on my part considering all the concert performers are very far removed from originating the roles.
Thanks for the tip regarding my fingers, too.
Jessica, I always thought it was funny that Destiny's Child released a song asking for their men to pay their "bills, bills, bills" and later recorded "Independent Women." Heh.

I can't say I was ever a big Destiny's Child fan!
*headdesk* The baby across the hall is having a screaming fit or something. I'm going nuts!
Rodney is on Conviction too.
Heh, I totally understand where you're coming from there, Lexi. The first performers you heard doing those roles formed a lasting impression for you and you couldn't help but compare the ones you heard after to the standard you had in your mind, even if they had performed the roles before the performers you heard first (yeah, I know that's awkwardly worded, but you know what I'm talking about - if you hear the cover of a song before the original, the cover becomes the definitive version for you that you judge all other versions against) . It's sort of like some species of animal where the baby assumes the first creature it sees is its mother.

Hee. Actually, the real meaning of "Bills, Bills, Bills" was widely misunderstood. It's about men who mooch off their girlfriends and how if he constantly uses her car or cell phone, it's only fair that he helps pay the bill. However, let's just say they did a total 180 with "Cater 2 U." That song caused so many fights on the pop-music message board I used to moderate between those who thought the lyrics ( http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/destinyschild/cater2u.html ) were misogynistic and those who didn't see what the big deal was.

I have, it's SO funny.
Oh I can't wait for Conviction tonight. Rodney and Will
Me either, it's gonna be so weird seeing them on TV. Updated On: 3/24/06 at 08:55 PM
You mean Anthony's Rodney?
Yeah. Anthony's Rodney.
Yeah Anthony's Rodney.

I'm excited for this show... I forgot to watch last week. LOVE Stephanie March!
I just watched a really good TV movie on CTV called Playing House. It was cute, and I thought the lead actress was very funny. She sort of reminded me of Caroline Dhavernas, who was the lead of Tracie Thoms' show, Wonderfalls. Yay Canadian movies, haha.
I couldn't get into Allie. I was flipping and she was having a day dream or something at a picnic.

Exactly, Jessica. I think I might have mentioned this before on here, but one of my friends just couldn't see how I preferred Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" over Kelly Osbourne's version. Naturally, I had heard Madonna's first (and I think Kelly's is mediocre to say the least anyway, but that's another story ).
Regarding the lyrics: I can't say I'm much of a Destiny's Child fan anymore, but that's interesting! I think I just heard the chorus back in seventh grade (or thereabouts) and jumped to conclusions. Reading the lyrics to "Cater 2 U" (I can't say I've ever heard the song), I think it falls in the same category as all those "I'm all yours for tonight/your wish is my command" songs. I prefer to interpret those songs as reflecting those occasional times when a woman will go "all out" for her man rather than a general attitude of complete submission. Of course, the man should ideally reciprocate with times when his only goal is to please his woman.

Hmm, I may have missed that part, Sarah. My mom called, hehe. But it was surprisingly good overall. And it was a novel first! It's been added to my library book list.
