Heh, Chloe! That song drifted into my mind as I was typing my post, although I can't say the lyrics are exactly on the same level as "Cater 2 U" (the title reminds me of "Today 4 U"!).
Interesting analysis of Cater 2 U, Lexi. In the many arguments I had to read through about the song, quite a few people pointed out that many of the people who were upset/offended by the lyrics would have no problem with it if it were a man singing it to a woman. Of course, some of them went on to say it was a double standard that society finds a man going all-out for his woman desirable/acceptable while the opposite makes people uncomfortable in this day and age. I mean, if you're going to argue gender double standards, that's not exactly the one to go for :-P

I'm going to go. I have to clean my kitchen (I'm such a messy cook!) before Conviction. Then I'm off to bed.
I have an early-ish day tomorrow... meeting a few people at the local farmers' market in the morning and then we're off to Urinetown!
Have a great Friday night, everyone!
I love that song. I love the combination of generosity and sensuality in it.
Cellophane Sun is definitely my favorite song on Model Prisoner. It's just so...soothing.
I love that song, too.
Have a good night, Allie!

Bye, Allie!
Jessica, I likely just interpret all songs similiar to C2U in lyrical content like that because I don't want to believe that a woman, in this day and age, truly would devote her life to any man to that extent.
Chloe, I agree. It's my favorite off MP. My friend actually loves collecting lyrics with just a hint of sensuality in them (she's totally normal, I swear) -- I sent CS's lyrics to her and she liked them a lot.

Thank god there's only two weeks left of classes. I'm completely wiped out.
Only 2 weeks left? Sarah, you're so lucky. I still have 5 or 6 weeks before finals and I don't know how I'm going to make it through.
I have like four weeks left of straight school. *kills self*

Sarah, I expressed a similiar opinion earlier today on this thread. Unfortunately, I have 39 more days with only one very short break. I'm really burnt out.
We had to dissect a rat today. I already had dissected one in 10th grdae, but they're just as gross as I remembered them. The boys in our class killed one of the rats in the animal room and dissected it minutes after it died. They were twirling it around by its tail and by the end, the blood was leaking all over the dissection tray. I never want to see that again.

I'll be in the sun thinking of you in 37 days Lexi.
Major ewwwwww to the rat-dissection story. I haven't had to dissect anything since 9th grade Biology (worms and insects and fetal pigs, oh my!), and that was more than enough for me.
That's disgusting Lexi. Boys are weird. I have to dissect a frog at the end of this year which I already did years ago. I'm really not looking forward to it.

Don't make me jealous!
The one bright spot is that the last day of school is also my 18th birthday. I can't wait.
As long as we're on the subject of countdowns, Adam's on Cold Case in nine days. yay.
Adam's episode is the only thing I have to look forward to lately which is depressing. I'm very excited for it.
But you're moving to New York. You're graduating high school. Exciting stuff. You can do it Lexi, I believe in you!
You're moving to NY? That's so exciting!

LOL, Sarah, thanks! You're quite awesome yourself.
The only thing I remember about my 7th grade frog dissection is the enormous amount of juice that came out of it.
I googled the lyrics of Cellophane Sun. Only I would care about something like this, but I'm disappointed that it's not "morning is the dream of breaking the night." I liked it my way better! I don't like finding out that the version of lyrics in my head all this time was wrong. It happens to me quite often with songs (I guess I have an untrained ear), and I usually end up liking my version better. Heh.
Mel, I'll be attending NYU in the fall. It's definitely exciting and quite a change from where I currently live!

Haha, I do that too with songs. But usually my version is worse and makes no sense. NYU is hard to get into, that's pretty cool .

Thanks! I'm not quite sure how I was admitted considering they're accepting some extremely low percentage of students this year, but I'm grateful nonetheless. My essays were written at the eleventh hour, but I'm a horrible procrastinator, so it's really no surprise.
Ugh, high school bio. I'm against dissection, but the teacher still made me "observe" a group dissecting a rat. The rat was already long dead, but when the teacher came by to see how our work was going, what we *thought* was the large intestine was actually the uterus and she was pregnant with 3 babies. The guy and the teacher wanted to dissect the babies as well, but enough people objected, so they didn't do it in class (he came in for lunch ).
I can hardly wait for Conviction tonight.
This is why I'm a vegetarian.
I like "morning is a dream, a break in the night." It implies to me that they're feeling so passionate that the morning feels unreal.
