Wait, why wouldn't Adam love British Columbia? It's gorgeous and it's known for another special something that Adam probably wouldn't mind...

Hey everyone! I went to the Rent tour last night and it was so good. I thought Jed was Amazing as Mark. I really liked him a lot. My only major complaint was Arianda as Mimi. I REALLY didn't like her at all. She sobbed through all of Without You and Goodbye Love. It was so distracting. I just wanted to scream at her to suck it up already! Grr... I was disappointed in Bryce, too. He sang well enough, but I just didn't think he had any charisma at all. It didn't help that I didn't find him the least bit attractive either. Oh well, still a great show in spite of all that.
My mom didn't know much about the play at all and she said she really enjoyed it, so that's a relief. I was worried about whether she'd like it or not. She really loved Ano as Angel.
I'm going again on Saturday with a friend, so I'm hoping she'll like it as well. I'm so glad I finally got to see it live. I must have looked like the biggest idiot because I couldn't get the grin off my face the whole time I was watching.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, tlp!
I'm busy stalking Ticketmaster. We (two close friends and I) are hoping to get tickets to see Rent between July 23rd and July 29th, since I get home from camp on the 22nd and Tim leaves after the 29th. But they don't have those dates available yet on Ticketmaster. *sigh*

Hi Tracie! I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I actually haven't heard one positive thing about the tour Mimi. Sorry to hear about that, but it sounds like it was an overall great experience.
Ooo, private concert with Adam and Allie, my life is complete . I'm really glad that I live about an hour away from one of the major cities in Canada, so that when things do come to Canada I'll be able to see them. I was thinking that if he were to come to Canada, likely stops would be Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, mostly capitals. He wouldn't come to small town central Ontario.
Thanks, Lexi. I really did have a great time. I'm so glad I get to go again this weekend.
I haven't read many tour reviews, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like Arianda. I was afraid I was just being too harsh. I was sitting really close, so watching all her facial contortions was almost funny at times. That was really annoying. I'm so glad the rest of the cast made up for it, though.

Hah, so I'm assuming that she couldn't even act convincingly? I don't mind actors breaking into tears if they can pull it off, but more often than not, it just ends up looking so melodramatic. I enjoyed a local college's production of L5Y, but the actress playing Cathy's facial contortions (I like the way you put it!) and her hard time trying to eek out a few tears during "Still Hurting" really detracted from her performance of the song rather than strengthed it.
To say it was over-the-top is putting it mildly. And it ruined the songs because she could barely breathe. She was also hunched over half the time like she had a stomach ache or something. I think the impact of the songs was lost because she was so distracting. There's a lot to be said for subtlety. It's not like her voice occassionally cracked. She was practically sobbing uncotrollably during the whole thing. I'm all for showing some emotion, but it was way too much.
Adam's MySpace comments are making me naseous.
Hee. The perfect girlfriend one.
And the one from "Mrs. Pascal." I truly can't wrap my brain around WHY people wouldn't feel really stupid doing that, and clearly WANTING him to see it!
I've decided that by far the most annoying MySpace convention, to me, is everyone using all of those ugly blinking "Thanks for the add!" graphics.
Ugh, MySpace.
Yoda talk on Mano's myspace is better?
At least we thought he was in on the joke.
Better it is. Aware of silliness they are. Or something like that.
You should bring him a little stuffed Yoda toy tonight.
Just call him Yoda the whole time.
Yes, and ask to see his lightsaber.
HAHA, Mandi! I'm sure that'd go over wonderfully.
Mandi I love you so much.
hee.
Hey Sarah, according to LJ, the Rent tour is going to be in Toronto. The tickets go on sale tomorrow. It's at the Elgin Theatre? *shrug*
Bah, they need to make up their minds with it.
It is coming, tickets are on-sale tomorrow morning *sets alarm*
