Nope, I've never heard that, either. I guess I've seen some of the Funny Thing Happened movie. Heh.
I'm listening to Ragtime, Ashley!
I'm working on it, I think. I've always loved Into the Woods. I had a pretty bizarre attachment to A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum way, a before I knew who Sondheim was. And then more recently, I got the OBCRs of Sweeney Todd, Company (instantly fell in love with), and Sunday in the Park with George (which is my current obsession). I saw and loved Doyle's production of Sweeney Todd, and I've seen videos of a few other things since then. I really hate Passion, though.
Good Morning-- I'm not really a Sondheim fan either, but I haven't heard all of his works.
I've only heard three Sondheim shows, and I really enjoy them. I like Into the Woods the most. Now I want Raul to be the Prince, not because I think he'd be perfect for the character, that's just my favourite part. God, he needs to do a one-man show of many Broadway shows.
"Raul does Ragtime." "Raul is Sweeney Todd, as well as every other character" "Rent Raul"
I really liked the LCT production of Passion, but if you ask me to remember the music, I just can't. Sweeney took a while, but I started liking it better even once I got the CD, and after seeing it again, I absolutely LOVED it. I really like Merrily, which seems to be... not-so common?
eta - ha. Rent Raul.
You know you wanna see Raul tackle Today 4U.
I would so kill to see his "Today 4 U."
I like Merrily's music, but the backwards plot just seems so... depressing. I think that's the problem that most people have with it--it ends so optimistically, yet you know what will end up happening. I haven't ever seen a production of it, though.
Edit: Hee, jinx, Mandi.
Edit #2: RAGTIME! Yay. If you hate it, we can't be friends anymore. I'm sorry.

Haha. That's quite an image.
I want to see him tackle anything/one.
I like Merrily because of the music, but also just because it's easy to understand!
No doubt I would love to see him do that. He could, I bet.
You think he could dance in them heels?
The same could be said for L5Y I guess, (I know nothing about Merrily). It's so sad and depressing, and yet I absolutely love it.
I do!
He totally could.
You're right, Sarah, it is kind of a similar thing.... but I think the fact that one of them is going backwards and the other is going forwards balances it out, somehow. It's still such a depressing play. Did anyone see that broadwaysecret a few weeks ago that was like "I want my first marriage to be just like the plot of The Last Five Years"? WHY? I don't understand. Melodrama? Massochistic tendencies?

It would be a different kind of dress for him. We'd see some legs.

Raul would make a great Jamie (L5Y).
Um, does anyone else find that lotion really starts to smell after a couple years? I bought a lot of Bath and Body Works body cream when it was on sale in 10th grade and now it absolutely reeks. Yuck.
I have so much old Bath and Body works lotion. But I think it's still ok!
Lotion loses colour too. I've had to throw out some things that I haven't even opened because they just sat for too long.
Yeah, definitely toss the lotion after a few years. I have this gingerbread lotion stuff, and I know it's out of season now, but I love the smell of it so I'm still using it anyway.
I have hemp lotion. It tends to stay good for a while.
Didn't we decide that Raul must've shaved his legs for the lemon outfit in Taboo? He wears fishnets...
Legs, chest (well, waxed, I assume?). Cabaret, too.

I think the lotion is going to go in the garbage. I hate that I'm essentially throwing away the money. And yeah, Sarah, one of them is a really weird tint of pea green.
All Emcees shave their chests, right?
Ash, you went to bed before I could tell you. I'm a big fan of instrumentals (must be the band geek still inside of me). So I really enjoy long overtures and entr'actes (really excited when I got Cabaret and realized it was an extended version). I really loved Bows from Ragtime.
