Er, no. I live in New York. The show is in Los Angeles. I posted the link just to share the news that he's finally doing *something*.
I suppose I should clarify this early on... I feel like since I got on a plane for Raul once, people are almost expecting me to go fly across the country for Adam on really matter-of-fact terms. There are very few people I'd be willing to get on a plane to see perform. I hate hate HATE flying. An hour is one thing. Six hours is basically un-doable for me without sedatives.
That's besides the fact that... it would simply be insane to even consider flying that far for something like this. Yeah, he's performing, but unlike Company, which was kind of insane in and of itself, it's nothing *new* -- that's even less justifiable.
I'm not even considering it. My conscience and all decent reasoning skills prevent me from even entertaining the thought. When you asked if I was going, my first thought was "is she crazy?" -- because flying to California to see him is outlandish, even to me, apparent do-er of the insane.
There, now it's out. I hate that my doing one possibly mildly insane thing has like, set the standard for what people expect that I'll do. It's probably made people think I'm crazy. I just wish people wouldn't ask those kinds of questions, because it just goes to show what I've made myself out to be, but I suppose that's a price I have to pay. In some ways I'm like "how can people *actually* think I'm going to get on a plane to California? Do they think I'm that ridiculous... that that's just what I do? Because I did it once, now it's a thing I do?" all of it implying that I have no conception of finances, or living in the real world, etc, or that I've come off as simply doing *everything* without regard for reality... that I might just snap my fingers and jet to LA, but... I guess I can see why you all would come to such conclusions.
There comes a time to draw a line, and I'm going to have to draw it. He'll be back.
A work of art is an invitation to love.
