Every time Under Pressure comes on the radio my mom turns it up and says "Oh, I love this song" I just laugh. When she asks me what's so funny, I just shake my head and say nothing because I know that if I told her, she would yell at me.
Since Ashley brought it up, what magazine is that photo from Em?
Thanks, Chloe. I think I remember hearing about Pinball Wizard, I just wasn't sure about any others. Ah, and Under Pressure. I must admit that I think Michael upstaged Adam in that video, although Adam probably had a pretty obvious excuse. And anyway, Adam's pants were probably the real star of the show.
Not to answer for Em, but check out the Raul thread, Sarah. It's from Elle... I can send you the text if it's hard to read in that picture.
There was someone else in that? Sorry, I'm obviously obsessive. I don't think anyone could upstage Adam for me. Adam's pants probably were the real star. That other guy couldn't keep his hands off them.
I'm only kidding - I know who Michael is.
Hehe, I totally know the feeling, Chloe.
Hmmm... I think it's time to break out that video.

Okay now, Michael is amazing. I have to stand up for him!
I know, I really was just kidding.
I know you were, Chloe.
Hee. It just doesn't get old. They're both hilarious.

You really must see Sweeney at least once before it closes. I'm totally not a Sweeney shill; it's just pretty damn amazing.
I bought an orange thermos from Starbucks today. As the cute guy at work described it, it's "so rockstar." I now have colorful Starbucks shot glasses and a thermos for college -- all from a company I hate. Their merchandise is so pretty, though!
I know. I almost went last Wednesday afternoon when I had some unexpected free time, but I hadn't had lunch and hunger won out. Maybe I can go next week. When I first moved to the city I saw the original production. I'm pretty sure it was all the original cast too, but not positive. It was quite awe-inspiring.
Maybe you guys could go see it together or something. I do agree that you should try to see it if you have any interest at all.
I'm actually always tempted by buy the merchandise when I go to Starbucks, but then I feel sort of bad as it is that I'm not supporting local coffee shops. This town didn't have a Starbucks my freshman year, and now there are at least three.
That's awesome about having seen the original production of Sweeney, Chloe.

Do you remember anything about it in particular?
After I saw Sweeney, I told myself that I wouldn't want to see it again because nothing could match the intensity of the first time, but on the other hand, I think it would be quite fun for all of us to go during its final weeks.
I love that I decide to pop back into this thread when we're totally off-topic. Anyway, Chloe - you *must* see Sweeney before it closes. Must.
I promise - I know it's soon, but when exactly does it close?
My memory of the original production is sort of messed up by having also seen the later TV broadcast, but what I especially remember is the shock of that first factory whistle blast and how intricate the music is. The darkness of it was pretty formidable too.
September 3.
I need to get to bed, but any of you who are interested, tomorrow let's think about when might be the best time to go. I'm inclined to vote for Tuesday the 29th just because tickets might be easier to come by, but I know during the week isn't convenient for a lot of people.

The 29th sounds good to me. I'm kind of hesitant to spend money right away, but I want to go with everyone.
A field trip could be fun. I want to meet you, Chloe!
I have to leave really soon! Have fun on the thread. I'll be back on Friday
A field trip? Sounds like fun...but I'm too far away.
I'm too far away also. But I'll refrain from another rant about the midwest. I hope it all works out for the rest of you. Tuesday, August 29: the day I go back to school. But hey, exactly 2 more weeks from today.
Chloe - I'm in "Chicago" right now, playing Roxie. It's incredibly exciting. I've been doing stuff with this theatre organization for years, and it's been fun to work my way up the ranks. Tech week day 1 could have been worse, I suppose. When we were rehearsing "Roxie" I get lifted around a lot, and one of the guys wasn't paying attention, so he missed and didn't catch me. Not that I could get mad, though, because he answered with a perfectly timed "I think I missed. Don't get pissed."
I hope everyone's Monday was good

That's awesome Airella, congrats on your role!

Hee, that's cute. Hope you're ok from your fall.
I would love to see Sweeney before it closes (I havn't seen it yet :0) ..and a field trip sounds like fun. Wish I could convince my mother =/. Money is an issue as well.
Hi everyone. I had a hell of a commute tonight, as my train was delayed midroute for about an hour, then threw us off at the next station where we had to pile onto buses. A 40-minute ride turned into over two and a half hours.
Ariella, congratulations on getting such a terrific role, though it obviously entails some bruises along the way. Also, it seems that at least one other person in Minnesota is familiar with Rent.
Sorry so many of you are not close enough to join our possible field trip.

Hey Chloe. Oy, sounds like a hell of a ride home.
It's a possiblity. I saw Sweeney on TDF and I live real close. So..maybe. Hopefully
I only have one day left of summer. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I could do to make it worthwhile?
