I kinda hesitated in answering him.
Adam: Where did you get this??
Me: Um. Your mom sent it to me.
Adam with eyes slightly closed and cringing a bit, but goodnaturedly saying: Why does that not surprise me.

My brain hurts. I can't believe that's him!
His mom sent it to you? How nice of her! I didn't know you guys were in touch other than that one random time!

bdwaygirl, you know Adam's mommy?
That is the most amusing, strange thing I've heard all week. Thank you.
Now explain this to me! And I want to see the picture in the cd cover.
Only a couple random e-mails. I did/do not want to come across as being a pest or her worse nightmare come to life. It was absolutely wonderful of her to do that. I will be forever grateful to her for it. She is so very proud of him, as you can expect. Can't fault her for that. We're all so proud of him, too!

Hell, I'm proud of him, and I'm almost young enough to be HIS child.

I hate to be YOUR pest, but how did you stumble across her email?
She sounds like a sweet person.
This is stupid, but I'm afraid to look at that photo. I thought someone would have to scan something so I'd at least have tonight to mentally prepare myself, but here it is, thrust upon me. I don't think I can do it.
It'll still be there when you're ready. And there will be lots of new, pretty pictures to make up for the damage it does.
It's hard to imagine that the guy in that picture is now so drop-dead gorgeous.
Well, he's not ugly in that picture. It's just that crazy curly 80's hair.
Yeah, but it obstructs the beauty.
He's grown up beautifully.
bdwaygirl, did his mom send you the CD, or just the insert?

Nia's computer regrets to inform you that she has been eaten by Cousin It. Fear not, for all hope is not lost. Cousin It has regurgitated previous victims such as Adam Pascal, so there is a slim chance she may emerge alive and with a decent hairstyle.
lol.
Really, I'm laughing!
come on , who doesn't lounge in a smoking chair, reading a book on a dirt road in front of an abondoned plantation house?
That made me giggle.
And Nia, your post made me giggle too.
Nia, I met her after his first Joe's Pub gig last November. My friend and I were talking to this older couple outside for about 10 minutes about the nights' show, AIDA and Adam in general. After about 10 minutes, a comment she made about how nice it is to hear all this (that we were saying), made my friend ask who she might be. When she said she was his mom, I thought my friend was going to hyperventilate. She only pretty much knew of Adam because of me and was along for the Adam ride that night only because of me. I near about died when I found out it was his mom and stepdad.

bdway, it's cute that they went to see him! But how did that lead to an email correspondence?
I cannot stop laughing at that Mute picture. He's the Awkward-Hairstyled Duckling who became the Beautiful Swan Who Wears Tight Sparkly Jeans. Or something like that
I got over my initial shock and just continued to chat with them as a group of about 2 or 3 other couples stood off to the side patiently waiting for them. We got talking about his older music, and I casually mentioned that I'd heard she had some original MUTE CD's hidden away in the basement. I'd randomly picked up that info from someone posting on the old, old Sh-K-Boom board. She looked at me and asked if I had paper and pen. I said yes, and gave it to her. She told me she was going to give me her e-mail address, to e-mail her my mailing address and she would dig one out and send it to me. I was speechless. Not wanting to seem like a greedy gus, I waited a couple days and then e-mailed her. She responded back in less than a half hour saying it would be in the mail the next day or so. My cynical side sorta popped up at that point. When a package came about three days later, I was perplexed cause I really wasn't thinking about the CD at all and I hadn't ordered anything, and didn't recognize the return address. As I was ripping the envelope open, it hit me what it was. Sure enough, there was the CD. I already had a burned copy someone had sent me, but I was ecstatic to have the real thing in my hands. So, yes, Em, she sent the whole CD, insert and all.
I e-mailed her back thanks and sent her some pics I had taken at Joe's Pub and she e-mailed back that I "made her day". Sporadic e-mails after that.

Aw, she sounds really sweet. Adam probably would rather her basement and kind offers be locked forever, but I think it's cute.
Thanks for the story.

There's something cute and humbling about the fact that even Superstar Adam can still be embarassed by his mother.

Definetly, Emcee.
Maybe it was something for him and Rosario to bond over.
"I can't believe my mom is running around the Today Show like this!"
"Oh yeah? Well, MY mom sends people my old CDs from like, highschool!"
And now, I must go to bed. Long day tomorrow. *waves* Goodnight, sleep well, if you so choose to sleep.
haha, Rosario's mom is EXCELLENT. Didn't she cook lasagna for the cast, or something?
'nighty.
bdwaygirl, that's amazing. And I agree with Em about the cuteness of Adam being embarrassed by his mom.
That's sorta why I hesitated to tell him where I got it. I didn't want to get her in "trouble". But, she's his mom. She can just hit him upside the head if he gets out of line with her. Not sure how he feels about that older stuff, but I like it. I admit, the first couple times I listened to the music, I wasn't too keen on it, except for three songs, but I really do like the whole thing.
I still chuckle over some of the stuff they were telling us, though. He was freaking about finding housing out in San Fran for the shooting and carting wife and kids out there. Stepdad was telling us how the four of them come over for Sunday dinner every week. Such normal, mundane things things that you usually don't associate with these guys sometimes, you know?
Night, Nia!

I have Beneath a Velvet Sky, and I think it's quite good. He also sounds really damned sexy.
That's so cute! It's sort of weird to think about that stuff sometimes, though -- like I was saying a bit ago, they're more "real" to me than most other actors I'll ever see on a movie screen, but there's still a gap.

Awwww. That's a cute story, bdwaygirl. I love that Adam is such a family man
What kind of music did Mute play? I know Adam was in to hard rock, but is that what he actually played?
