PM me your sn's, and once I find the files on my computer I'll send them to people.

They didn't have defined levels, as in so many points and you need to get treatment. I was just extrapolating from symptoms listed that I'm not as bad off as the people who are jeopardizing their jobs, but am somewhat out of control in terms of the time I intend to spend online and what I actually end up doing.

I probably need treatment.

Apparently there are a number of 12-step type groups already in existence. Now, a lot of the people in these groups are basically addicted to gambling or porn and are using the internet for access. I'm not sure we are *quite* that bad off.

At least this is more... useful than porn. We make friends and learn stuff! Porn is... not that cool.

By using BWW I am being social. Humans need to be social

We're okay!

Hah. I try to convince myself BWW helps me because people are such grammar nazis on here. Also, it's improved my typing skills. *rationalizes as well*

[rationalizing]I may be addicted to the Internet, but all that time I spend on message boards is time spent reading and writing. It's like being in school, except it's fun and I don't have to worry about my posts being graded, so I actually enjoy writing for once. Plus, the Internet is an endless source of free entertainment - imagine how much money I would have to spend on stuff to entertain myself with if I didn't have the Internet to fall back on when I'm bored![/rationalizing]

I've actually used some of that in arguments with my mother over how much time I spend on the computer. I also rely heavily on the "well, if I'm on the computer, at least that means I'm at home and safe! Would you rather I go out to bars at 3 AM like the typical college student?" Hey, if there's one thing I've learned from my mom, it's how to give a good guilt trip Video Blogs to come ...

Allie, I know what you mean! I used to not have any friends who were real into theater (though my first year of college has taken care of that problem). Online you can find people who actually like the things you do, lol.

"But in all seriousness, some of my online friends know more about me than my real-life friends! "

Same here. There are people I've become friends with on other boards I post at over the past 2 or 3 years, and I've told them things I would never feel comfortable telling my real-life friends.

There's that, and there's also the fact that I don't have many friends close by that I hang out with... they're all away at different schools, so we don't get to talk often. And you'd think that it would be just as easy to talk to them online, like I do with you guys? Apparently not! Communication problems like crazy. *headdesk*

I know what you mean. Most of my good friends from high school went pretty far away for college, and I almost feel awkward talking to them now because I can sense that we don't have as much in common as we used to.

Awwww. *loves everyone* I have hardly any friends who are into theatre. I have some who know a few shows, but that's it. It's great having people to share this with.

And BWW provides a great place to rant too. :)
