Oh, the joys of expanders. Fantab, I still have mine. I'm saving it to threaten my own kids some day. I'm sure they'll whine about having to do something incredibly easy in order to get straight teeth.

Actually, wait. I don't want kids. I'll torture Elphie's.

Em, I find it strangely cute that you sucked your thumb. How long did that last?

Nia, it was this wire that went into 2 little metal tubes attached to my back molars, then connected to a bigger wire that went across my face with a fabric strap that went across the back of my head. I was supposed to wear it while I slept, but my mom decided that to make sure my teeth straightened up quickly, I would wear it whenever I was home unless I was eating, brushing my teeth, or taking a shower. I had to wear it for about 6 months when I was 8 or 9, and it was not pleasant. It was painful, it made it very hard to sleep comfortably, and every time I walked by a radio, the reception went bad.

6 rubber bands at a time? You deserve a medal. I never had to do more than 4 at a time, and that was more than bad enough.

Can I have chocolate instead? 5...4...3...Open Sesame! I appreciate the (long overdue) sympathy. My parents were like, "It can't be that bad! When I was your age..."

The radio thing made me laugh. I'm really sorry, though. Are you scarred?

Of course you can have chocolate:

Ah, parents are always like that, thinking we have it easier.

Looking back, the radio thing is pretty funny.

Billboard, where did you google that? That looks incredibly good, and since there is so much of it, I shall share it.

I think we all need a virtual party. chocolate!

Nia, I didn't Google it. I took that picture almost exactly a week ago - on the cruise I went on, they had two midnight buffets, and for about half an hour before the buffet is opened for consumption guests can view it and take pictures. I've got quite a few pics if anyone is still hungry chocolate!

*shields children from Nia* You can't have them!

I really did hit the dental jackpot. I'm missing five of my adult teeth, they're just...not there. So I had to get 5 baby teeth pulled, and then they had to move all my teeth forward, which took 5 years, but I still have a huge gap, so I'm going to need an implant, but the space is too big for one tooth and too small for two, so I don't know what they are going to do. My bone in the space has gotten really thin over the years, so if I get an implant, I'm going to need bone grafting, so it can be implanted. It does not sound fun. The one "plus" is that I have built-in retainers, so I don't have to worry about them and I forget they are there.

Oh, the talk of braces make my teeth ache- okay, maybe it's just the two holes in the back of my mouth where my bottom wizdom teeth used to be. This board sure has it's share of teeth problems, and man that food looks good.

Oy, that sounds rather unpleasant, Elphie.

I just thought of something - did anyone ever figure out who Wax Lion is? I remember him making a date with Emcee, but assumed it was a *virtual* date.

hah, no, we never did have our date. I think it was a joke. And... Wax Lion remains a mystery. I really am boggled; every time I think I have it figured out, I'm thrown for a loop.
