Either way. Anything.
... or nothing.
Really. Even in the shirts that look like curtains from the 70's, he still looks great.

"Heh, I downloaded the NYTW audio somewhere, listened to Right Brain, and just had to stop because I couldn't take it."
BG, ME TOO. That was the stopping point. It was actually right after the Roger did the "time flies, time dies" bit. I just couldn't take it anymore. He sounded like a skeevy freak who'd been smoking for twenty years.
Chloe, that was me who asked for the article. Someone on LJ actually gave me the link and I posted it earlier in this thread, but you may have missed it. Thanks a lot regardless! And yes, I saw the Kentertainment clip. The waving-at-the-friend plus the nervous giggle that came after it was such a gay moment, haha.
Heh guys, nice title. Simply put!
I think I'm going to call it a night in an attempt to slowly return to something approaching a normal, healthy sleep schedule.

Nothing in the world makes you appreciate Adam Pascal more than listening to the Roger on the NYTW version of Rent. You're left simply thinking, "Thank god for Adam." (As an aside, I've always been dying to know what the NYTW Roger looks like, but haven't been able to find any pictures. I just can't picture him.)
Although vast improvements were made to the show afterwards, there are one or two things that I like from the NYTW recording (the more interesting lyrics of "I Should Tell You," for example, and it's cool to hear the middle secion of "Goodbye Love" without the fight).
Well, we didn't see Producers or BBM--we saw Memoirs of A Geisha...it was decent, not wonderful, entertaining but dragged and I was confused at times...though perhaps it was my own fault for thinking half the movie we were in China, when we were really in Japan. Oops.
Ooh, everyone who hasn't seen it, go rent the King and I! It's a great show, movie, and personality aside, Yul Brenner just gives one of the most amazing performances in it. Mandi, I don't remember Anthony saying Yul punched him? Hmm, gotta rewatch...but yeah the louder story was amusing. It was Yul's final go around as the King in a revival tour, and at that point he was getting old and a little more irritable and therefore meaner I suppose. For a while I'm sitting there saying how could Anthony be in King and I, he's too really white to be one of the King's children, then when he mentioned Louie, I hit myself on the head w/ a big duh. Anyway, at the climax of the play, Louie has a very important line letting Anna know the boat's here, b/c Anna has to decide between going on the boat or staying. Yul was constantly telling Anthony he had to be louder, and just one night when he did it, Yul who's supposed to be dying on the bed, suddenly comes to and out of nowhere screams "Louder!" Maybe the king had a slight relapse...I would love to hear Anthony's "Whistle A Happy Tune."
And I'm so happy! Mentioned the Adam thing to my friend at Brandeis tonight(she saw the movie w/ me)...forgot that it was Friday and she's pretty religious and observes Shabbat so never goes out or anything once the sun sets Friday, so she can't come w/ me, but lives in a single and tries not to do much work on Fridays anyway, and said if necessary I could stay w/ her. Would be easier to stay at BU, but the important thing is now I know I have somewhere to stay and can definitely go, will just have months to sort out the details. Maybe I'll try to convince some of my BU friends to go, they get in for free, and I'll explain he's really more rockish than broadway...we'll see.
I just wanted to establish that Yul Brenner is also the name of one of the characters in the movie Cool Runnings. He's also mean and probably yells at small children.
And Do A Little Business is my favorite song from the NYTW version! "I LOVE Monopoly! I'll be the dog!"
I'm still not feeling well. Stupid Macaroni Grill. Just a general warning: never order the penne arrabbiata.
Yaay for me and Skittles the late nighters...you still up? I'm going to bed soon, I swear...
But even better news, talked to my friend who goes to BU, said I could stay w/ her--she said she goes to BU central often and next time will see if she could find any more info for me or like how much it would be for non BU students, etc. And I didn't even think but she's gonna come w/ me(she really should--who wouldn't wanna see Adam?) and I have a couple of friends at BU and Brandeis so we're pretty much thinking I could stay w/ her Fri. and Sat. night and come home Sunday, hopefully chill w/ ppl along the way, she's already planning places to take me in Boston lol, we're both very upset that it's 2 and 1/2 months away...but yeah, it's gonna be an awesome weekend! Hope, though I'm sure, I'll see some of you there!
Cool Runnings is one of my favorite movies EVER.
So the guy I know at BU graduated. But I know like 2987394837987 people who go to other schools in Boston. I'll find someone I never talk to and be like "hiiiii, can I stay with you?"
And totally. Thank God for Adam. hee.
Good morning everyone. I'm so jealous of you guys going to Boston, you'll have to take pictures and tell us all the details.
I love Cool Runnings too. I'm not sure if it's totally a Canadian thing, but I know with a lot of my friends we get excited whenever Canada is mentioned in a show or a movie. So the fact that Cool Runnings takes place in Canada makes me love it.
wrq, I have a sort of bizarre question about the Memoirs Of A Geisha movie. Did you think it focused too much on set pieces at the expense of plot development? I haven't seen the movie, but that was the impression I got from the trailer. I loved the book when I read it a few years ago, but I'm not sure I want to see the movie (I tend to get very frustrated by movie adaptations of books because I can't stop focusing on all of the details that were changed).
skittles, I hope you're feeling better.
Boston is looking more and more likely to happen for me. A quick glance at Facebook reveals that not only do a ton of people from my high school go to BU (probably at least 10% of my graduating class), but that the person there I was most friendly with in high school is a RENT fan (removing the awkwardness of "hey, I'm totally coming to visit you out of the blue because I'm really here to see a concert").
Snowbird...I just downloaded Chess at school. This is the third computer I've tried it on. The video still refuses to work. Did you use Media player? When I tried it on Media player it just told me Error Downloading Codec. This is seriously driving me insane
BBG...it's hard to say. I do think some of the sets are beautiful, but...I didn't like focus on them the whole movie. Now my friend read the book and loved it, that's why we saw it. She said the movie was interesting, okay, but obviously they left out a lot that was frustrating to her. If that pisses you off, you're prob better off not seeing it. I mean, I didn't love it, I def think as I told my friend BBM is better lol.
I def lucked out w/ the Boston thing--there's really only 8 people from HS I still talk to a lot and consider myself still close w/--2 of them are at BU and one is at Brandeis, so like I said before, it all works out as not only was it fine for me to ask, but it could turn into a nice visit.
So yeah, totally not something I'd say plan now, but for those of you near the city or suburbia I will def be driving up. If I visit the whole weekend, I may not come home till Sunday morning, still it'd be nice to have some company and whoever fits in my car is welcome so...I guess keep that in mind as it gets closer.
If it wasn't in the middle of a week I could totally go. And, if it wasn't at 9 at night, I could probably go. I think my mom would notice me NOT coming home. Though...she has let me stay over at my friend's house on school nights...and I could say I was there, but really Ben and I could drive to Boston...haha, or not. Hm. Oh well.
It's a Friday...not the middle of the week, not a schoolnight
Haha, wow. I'm an idiot. I read that totally wrong then. Well, maybe it's possible. Most of his family lives there. Hmm...*ponders*
Are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Mandi, it'd be cool if you could go. The 'Cuse should be representin' even if I can't make it
*pokes thread*
I think I killed it.
Sorry. I was watching ER. The first season just started on the WB.
But yeah, I'm going to see if I can make the Boston thing happen. It's worth a shot.

I just took my German final. It went horribly, but that's probably because I'm putting absolutely no effort into school anymore. Oh well! Thank God for early decision acceptance!
