Yeah, I'm scared of Drew, but I'll get past it.
Hope they have a blast
Okay you know you've been on BWW too long when...
You read a post saying something along the lines of 'awww I wanna play Glory' and almost choke on your own spit before realizing they were talking about the song

Umm...you were just calling *me* bad?
Haha fine, We're even...
Emcee to Adam's defense again... main board. Oy.... I care too much.
To go back a bit...
Amasis, I bet you're right that Adam was only considering Fiyero because he needed a job. Fortunately a better one came along, since I gather it's not a great part.
Up to now I've only known of Kevin Anderson as an actor, and a very good one. I was surprised to hear he's in a musical. How's his voice? Would he be able to sing a role like Radames?
Edited for spelling

He's got a good voice; I think he'd make a good Radames for sure.
What were you defending Adam about, Emcee?
Not really defending; no one was bashing like people usually do, but we were... actually - main board. See the thread "Just an idea."
I was trying to defend a comment I made, more than Adam, I guess.

Emcee, where did you hear that about the anniversary? Kinda wierd that someone would know that.
Somebody posted it on the AP.org forums. We were talking about his wedding in the context of his career one day, and Chloe googled it, so I had seen the date before, but a little weird that it would be committed to memory, I guess. Birthdays are different.
Hi, Nia!
Speaking of memory, I had totally forgotten about googling it, let alone the date. Yet other random info sticks like glue...
Interesting point you made in the other thread, Emcee. I've never seen anyone else as Radames, so can't comment other than that Adam's very strong stage presence probably makes a difference.
That's what I was looking for! Stage presence! BRILLIANT!!

Hi Chloe. (I spelled it right!) I know what you mean about random facts just sticking.
*sighs*
I just hate to remember that he's married. And quite a bit older than me.
Well, glad I could help
It's kind of mysterious - what makes us want to watch one person on stage and not another? I don't think looks really have a lot to do with it. It reminds me of reading something about Stanislavsky being able to sit on stage with his back to the audience (his students in this case), and they couldn't take their eyes off him.
I think a lot of Adam's surface appeal - and the thing that initially grabs attention - is made of his looks and his voice, but it's a lot deeper than that. That confidence with which he carries himself on stage is SO SEXY, and really captures you - you can't take your eyes from him.
I think looks are definitely what gets you first, but it's what's underneath that's going to KEEP your attention. Think... Raul Esparza....

For me, an actor with an attractive stage prescence is usually:
-physically interesting, not necessarily pretty, but not bland
-has a good sense of himself projects that- Adam's charisma is an example. He's good-looking and plays off that and you can see it.
-wants to be there. If an actor is bored, so am I.
-is solid. Actors should not fade into the backround
-Inserts nuances- I should be able to think of certain things when I think of the actor or the actor playing the character. Just small habits that make the show less stiff.
"Hi Chloe. (I spelled it right!)"
You did indeed - thanks!
"I just hate to remember that he's married. And quite a bit older than me."
I kind of like that he's married and seems to care about his family so much. I get tired of those perpetual bachelor Hollywood guys going from one woman to the next - they're starting to seem pretty immature. And the older you get, the less age seems to matter. My mother used to say that she always felt like 18 inside, and now I understand what she meant.

Agreed Chloe, it's nice to see someone in showbiz who isn't (to our knowledge) a playboy. That was just my shallow fangirly side speaking.
I've been to the fangirly place, believe me. I seem to be feeling particularly mature tonight.
What a great list, Nia. I wouldn't have thought of all those things. And confidence must be the sexiest thing anybody can have.
I'm missing hearing from Anthony Rapp now that the Rent rehearsals are over for now. What an incredible window into the process, even though he was fairly discreet about it. It'll be really something if he keeps posting all through the rest of rehearsals, recordings and the shoot itself.

Thanks.
It's interesting what Anthony writes- he'll include little details about his life, like going out with the cast afterwards, but I notice that he's careful not so say anything remotely negative (and with good reason, he really can't) and doesn't ever give his opinion on a process unless it's to promote something we all doubted the quality of. It seems like he's 'talking' to us on the surface, but it really is a promo of the movie and the OBC- how they were all shown as a 'family', he's got to keep up the image and a way to quiet the angry mobs of fanatics.

Right, he's not going to say anything negative, but he doesn't come across to me as quite as manipulative as you seem to be implying. He's editing, but what doesn't get edited feels genuine to me.

Oh, yeah. I don't think he's trying to be nasty, I just think he's aware of the fact that this is a public board and he's not interested in sharing everything, nor is it really a safe idea.
Absolutely.
Ack - I can't believe it's almost 2am. Well, I should go to bed. I have to get up early during the week but always fall into this trap of staying up too late on the weekends. I'm really a night person, I guess. And you're certainly living up to your name, Insomniak! Have a good night...
ETA: PS to Nia - I probably shouldn't have used the word "manipulative" - what I meant was that it sounded like you thought Anthony was saying positive things he didn't really believe (but maybe you didn't really mean that).
