re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

OMG! That's so cool! I really want to make one now. I'm going to design one on those t-shirt sites right now(well, after I'm done posting). Maybe I can get it soon and wear it when I see Charity. Denis would love that! I'm seriously doing this!

People won't think it's cheerful if you make a shirt that says "Always look on the bright side of death." Oooh, another good idea!

Hahahaha!! I should wear mine when I see Charity! Only it's... kind of see-through... (only t-shirt I had heehee). One day I'll make a nice one with an iron-on or something. (that one was made with a permanent marker and some red acrylic paint.)

Well, you had to think quick for our entertainment, lol.

A-BUMP!!!

Ah, well, it seems I've missed a bunch on this here thread, but anyway...

I saw Denis when we drove by the Sweet Charity theatre. And I stuck my hand out and waved. But I don't think he saw me. *pouts*

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

You know, I totally would have been all, "STOP THE CAR!! THERE GOES MY LOVERRRRR!!" and stuck my head out the window and be all "Hey Denis, I love your work!"

SIX DAYS (five in an hour, OH MY GOSH...) until I see Charity, guys. I bought a tshirt the other day and a pair of pants for when I go see it, I'm going to iron on "I AM GOING TO THE LORDY." Haha, I hope Denis is more "Oh, that's cool" instead of "Oh, that's scary."

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

Well, I told you already: I wanted to keep my sanity after almost having a heart attack when standing next to the guy who played Roger when I saw RENT.

Anyway//

Denis should be flattered. hehehe

Hi Lizzie! I think it's so cool that you live so far away and have never seen Denis perform but you still love him. You rock!

Princeton: You should've shook whoever was driving to make them stop the car! Or at least scream out "I love you, Denis! And so do all my crazy friends on Broadway World!" Btw, thanks for bumping, I was sad to think that it had died. Let's not let that happen again!

I really need to make a Denis-related shirt when I go to Charity. That's my task this week! I was just thinking that there might be a Charity program b/c of all this Christina hype but Denis would have a nice little spread in there. I love my Denis so much....er....I mean our Denis. :)

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

Yay! The thread came back to life! :)

I listened to the New Sweet Charity recording the other day at borders and I fell in love with the title song, sung by the fabu Denny.

Now I need to draw some Denis-O'Hare-realted pic *thinks*
.
PS-Welcome to BWW (and the Dennis O'Hare thread) Lizzy.

I am in the process of a (nice) 'I am going to the Lordy!' shirt for when I see Charity on Friday!! (FRIDAY!! AHHH.) Sooo excited. And welcome to the lurve thread, Lizzie!

I saw the Sweet Charity cast recording at B & N the other day and even though I already have it I stopped to admire Denny's name on the cover. Woot.

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

So I'll do the '...terrifying and imposing figure' t-shirt when I go. Or I can go back to TMO and make a 'baseball is better than democracy' tee. Hmmmm...we'll see. I could try something having to do with Cabaret but I don't want people to think I'm a Nazi. Speaking of Nazi, I've always thought that Denis would so nicely in the Producers. Either Roger Debris or Leo Bloom. Maybe even Max? As long as he doesn't quit musicals.

lament: I do that, too. I complain a bit when I see it though. Christina gets the cover and a whole flower with her name and Denis only gets 2/3 of a flower, lol.

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

That makes me giggle, though. It's like CHRISTINA APPLEGATE!! in SWEET CHARITY (also starring Denis O'Hare.)

I'll have to make a 'Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature' shirt sometime. I love baseball, so it's appropriate. Next on my to-do list. Do you think Denis would recited that monologue for me, for old-time's sake? re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread Hahaha.

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

I would do anything to hear Denis do his TMO monologues again, especially that one.

Democracy is lovely, but baseball is more mature.

Another thing I like is the home-run trot.
Not that mad dash around the bases when it's an inside-the-ballpark home run-I'm not sure I've ever even seen an inside-the-ballpark home run-I'm talking about that graceful little canter when a ball is crushed, and it's missing, and the outcome's not in doubt.

What I like about it is it's no unnecessary.
The ball's gone, no one's going to bring it back. And can anyone doubt that a man capable of launching a ball four hundred feet is somehow going to fail to touch a base when he's running uninterfered with?

lament: I'm a baseball fan too so TMO was the tops for me. re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread I gasped the first time I saw TMO when Mason mentions The Yankees b/c in the play, The Empires are The Yankees. So, in play, NY has 3 teams and 2 of them won the World Series 3 years in a row? Yes, it's very possible to be a baseball dork and a theatre geek, lol.

+ and I name myself The Official Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread Bumper. It just rolls off the tongue nicely, doesn't it?

Actually, I remember chatting with lamentingjem about having Denis play Leo Bloom! That'd be, like, amazing. But, anyway- Denny better keep doing musicals!

Denny as Ben Stone in Follies perhaps?

Princeton: You just keep bumping Denis, lol. re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

I have incredible self-control b/c I still haven't seen SC but I have the cd and haven't listened to it. I like to see the show first. Classes are going to start soon, I better get my tuchis over to the Al Hirschfeld ASAP.

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

Ahhh, I would love to see Denny in Follies. I've recently become *obsessed* with it. I really hope he keeps doing musicals, though I'm sure he'll be excellent in whatever he does. re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread Three more days!

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

broadway betty- LOL!

Going off topic, although this kind of relates to Denny because they were in Assassins together- James Barbour is so AHHHHsdlkfjsdklfdkfjlSEXX. *cough*

*is listening to Jane Eyre the Musical*

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

I've tried to listen to Jane Eyre a few times but I always get distracted. James certainly deserves my full attention. I love his "the gun song", it's one of my favorites. Well, everything on Assassins is my favorite, such a great show. Ah, that deep voice! "It takes alot of men to make a gun..." Love it!

Oh, yes, and Denis rules my world! re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

iRuvPrinceton-James Barbour is awesome. I loved him in Assassins.

lamentingenvelope-Follies is one of the few recordings I have that I can play the whole cd over and over. I don't know what stopped me from buying it over the years.

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

My turn to bump the Denis!

I finished my 'I am going to the Lordy!' shirt. It is the shizzle, if I do say so myself. Pictures forthcoming.
#148

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

Yay for pictures!

Where can I get a GOOD t-shirt transfer paper, anyway?

betty: I know what you mean. The songs get a little boring (or corny) at times, but James comes in and is just HOT. Hahaha. "The Gypsy" is the most hysterical thing I've heard this week!

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

I got mine at Comp USA (I think... pretty much any computer store should have it...)

Alright, a question for all you FABULOUS Denny fans: I printed out three copies of my 'I AM GOING TO THE LORDY!' t-shirt graphic: one to do a test run on some scrap fabric, one to put on the t-shirt, and one extra in case I mess up. I didn't mess up, so... what should I put the extra graphic on?

I was going to put it on a pillowcase but my mom said no because... well, I don't know why, but she just did. Also I only have one graphic and four pillows, so it would disrupt my perfect symetry. My next idea was a pair of shoes, but I didn't think that would work real well...

Ideas?

(I really should be packing for my trip to New York. We leave tomorrow and I haven't started yet. I haven't even gotten dressed yet. Oh well... haha.)

re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread

Maybe you can put it on a tote bag or something? Or you can make a t-shirt with a bunch of pics overlapping each other. That'll take a while but I think it'd look cool when you're done. Kinda like those crazy rockers with tatoos all over their bodies.

Show us the pics! Better yet, take a pic of Denis and you wearing the shirt on Friday.

I've been trying to think which role Denis could play in The Pillowman. I'm very sad it's closing.re: The Official Denis O'Hare Lurve Thread Really, he could play any of the 4 main characters, he's that talented.
