YOU'VE got mail, annie!
I just saw a commercial with Lohn Lithgow. It was for a soup called Select. He was wearing a red and black tux (looked amazing) and he sang and danced on the table.
I've never seen it before. Has anyone else?
ROTFL...Only b/c it's something I would do Traci...
Wow...that must indeed be rare to see a commercial starring "Lohn Lithgow." I highly doubt any of us has seen it before...hmm, who would be named Lohn...ehh started thinking of it funnily as if it were john's dog but that's not too funny and I'm going to nap now so I'll be back in a bit.
Yes, Blue Cat?
10,000 posts! Woah....
ooh but quick amusing story before naptime. My sociology teacher is a broadway fan and knows I'm one too(shirts, plus I think I gave an example of broadway fanatics as a subculture) so when I walked in today, he asked me if I had seen that show, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" b/c he is seeing it Nov 10. Heh heh, started laughing, very amusing for me to get asked that. Okay goodnight momentarily.
::Cracks knuckles:: ow...time for THE REPORT!
Ok, where to begin... So..I get to the city after an annoyingly long express train, meh, oxymoron. So I'm in the city with my friend Hannah and my mom. We walked out of Grand Central got a little lost, but then got back on track. So..we tried to go to Olive Garden for lunch, turns out Kerrie, Cat, and Sam were there, they totally copied us, by the way. But we couldn't get seated because the wait would be an hour. So we walked down to Planet Hollywood and got seated immediately. la la la.
Ok, so after eating I had flip flops on and that just wouldn't do. So I went to Foot Locker and bought a pair of sneakers which are too small, meh. I liked them, too..
Ok, the good stuff!
Got to the theater, I bought the Dirty Rotten Program and the CD for a friend of mine. Our seats were really good, right mezz, I always sat on left or front center, so it was a different view.
The audience at the show was AMAZING. Every joke (especially pencil joke) got major appreciation. I've never heard such a long applause after the "Bushes of Tex" joke. Ok..soo.the actors.
John: Wonderful, his comedic timing was totally on and his vocie sounded GREAT.
Norb: Oh man, love him love him love him. He sounded fantastic and was full on hilarious. He mooned the audience more than usual, or at least more than I've seen before. I also noticed that during Great Big Stuff he now says something along the lines of "oh yeah, give it to me baby, give it to me." After Dirty Rotten Number, the applause was soooooo long that he started clapping with us. Then when the applause finally died he burst out laughing and seriously almost fell over, it was great.
Laura Marie Duncan: OH MY GOD I LOVED HER! She was sooo much better than Sherie IMO. Stronger and better voice, innocent when she needed to be, she was all around fabulous.
Joanna: She was great tonight, funny, nothing special or new, just Joanna, she's a great actress.
GREG: WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL. Sounded great as usual, funny as usual, amazing as usual, lol. Like Zis/Like Zat got major applause and awwing and all of his jokes were appreciated. He also got a standing o at the end started by moi. .
Sara: Sounded great, was hilarious. She's too pretty, by the way, it's unfair. lol.
After The Show
Wait for the show to end and literally run down the stairs to be greeted by a rain storm. My mom had to meet us out there so I was walking with my friend Hannah when I heard Kerrie go "I think that's her!" So I met up with my stalkers Kerrie, Cat, and Sam. All of whom were very cool and entertaining. Introduced them to Hannah and my mom, it was fun.
Then I see Greg peek his head out of the stage door, and then go back in. So I ran to the stage door with my mom and Hannah and Greg opened the door and was like "Liz! Run on in it's freezing out here!" so we ran in and Kevin yelled at us to wipe our feet. I don't know about all of you, but I do not like Kevin, he's so rude to me. Then I saw Andrew who smiled and asked me how I was, he was cute as always, gotta love Andrew.
So we got onstage and Greg came out and gave me a big hug and I introduced him to my mom and Hannah So we're waiting onstage when he goes "Liz, did you see who was in the audience with you tonight?!" I just said no, figuring it was like, Jack O'Brien or something like that. All of a sudden he goes "Hugh Jackman and two rows behind him, Halle Berry!" I flipped out about Hugh. Then he goes "Hugh is actually upstairs in John's dressing room right now" and I said "Ah yes, because he used to have that whooooole floor" he goes "Yeah, that punk" funny stuff.
So then the rest of his guests come, producers and such, he introduced me to them as "my friend, Liz" which was really sweet because I dunno, never wanted to refer to him as a friend seeing as how, he's like Greg Jbara, lol. So we met and he schmoozed the execs, which is what he had to do, so no big. lol. So all of a suddden John Lithgow comes down! He said hi to the people who he knew and Greg goes "John, I want you to meet my friend Liz" so John shakes my hand (which by the way was amazingly soft, the man defenitely moisturizes) and said "Hi, Liz, it's great to meet you" The whole time I was thinking, 'John Lithgow said my name!' and Greg introduced him to my mom and Hannah.
So while John and Greg were chatting with the producers, I was exploring the stage, actually, just trying to move as close to the stairs to the dressing rooms as possible. All of a sudden the heavens opened up as I hear this amazing Australian accent coming closer. Hugh Jackman walks down! Gahhhh ::dies:: He was lookin' HOTTTTT. VERY buff seeing as how they're doing X3. I was sort of gaping at him not realizing my jaw was dropped. So Hannah and I are speechless and he gives Kevin a hug and sees me gaping at him. He looks up, waves, winks, smiles, and leaves. We totally made eye contact, t'was amazing. gahh.
Greg comes over while John continues to chat and saw my expression and said laughing, "Did you see Hugh? That's great!" So John leaves and says bye and it was nice to meet us. Then Greg chatted with the producers and sort of like, shuffled them out, it was so funny! He was like, "ok, nice seein' ya, you leave this way." So I figured we were leaving to so I started walking and he was like "Okay, now for the tour!" So he took us back and told us some of the stuff that I heard before for like 15 minutes, no big, it's Greg! He also told us how they use slight of hand in hiding behind the palm trees without anybody seeing them. He showed us how the banister works which was really cool, it's like on wheels, but there's a hidden lever that releases air and compresses the wheels, I dunno how to explain, but it was cool.
He was so interested in all of it so my mom asked if he was an engineer in another life, he laughed and said that when he was at Michigan he also majored in engineering or something like that, lol. He started talking about how they have to run underneath the stage to get to the other side and he was like, "hey, wanna see?" so we went under the stage. It was so cool! We saw all of the ensemble's really tiny dressing room curtain areas, those poor people. lol. I don't know how they change. So then he introduced us to one of the costume people and he was really cool, he was doing a big-ass load of laundry. He then took us to the wig department where the wig lady was working on Laura's wig. It was so cool because we saw John's wig (sorry, Annie, couldn't steal it for ya!" and Joanna's clown wig and Sherie's wig. Greg then started to complain about him not getting a wig, lol.
So then he took us down to the sound booth where we got to see how that worked. Let me just say, that there were dirty posters EVERYWHERE. I guess when you're underneath the stage that's all you can do. Greg cracked jokes about it a lot. But there were Hooters posters and dirty magazines everywhere, it was pretty funny. So then Greg asked if we wanted to see the pit and of course we did! lol. So we went in and it was tiiiiiny. I was getting kind of nervous because it was dark and I was like gah I'm gonna be kidnapped, lol. Greg said that you needed like Naval training and had to shower daily in order to be a pit member since it's so small. lol.
We went back up and he showed us the light dimmers where he cracked a joke about the head light guy who does that not having kids, said he thought it was due to radiation, lmao. We got onstage and took a bunch of pictures. We then chatted for a bit more and Greg said the SWEETEST things about me, it was soooo flattering. He kept telling my mom what a lovely girl I was and how mature I am for my age and how much fun I am and it was just so sweet, I've never been complimented like that from anybody, lol.
So then we got out and it wasn't raining as much.Greg was concerned that we were walking and wanted to get us a cab or a shuttle but we said we'd just walk. He gave me a biiiig hug good-bye and thanked me for including him in my birthday celebration and wished me a happy birthday. Then he hugged my mom and Hannah and then said to my mom "thanks so much for your daughter" it was so sweet. We then went our separate ways after he told us how to get to Grand Central because I'm stupid and didn't know how, lol.
Needless to say, it was AMAZING. Just simply the best and I love Greg like a billion times more. We were back/on/below stage a good hour. I didn't mind not seeing the dressing rooms, this was even better. SOOO YAY I LOVE GREG!

Liz: OMG. You saw Hugh Jackman! So jealous. Glad you had fun. Sucks that it was raining though, but at least it didn't ruin your day. What a birthday. Greg, and Hugh. Cant get much better than that. Looking forward to any and all pictures.
Edit: It's funny that you got to see Hugh Jackman for your birthday because I got to see him for my birthday in 03' too.
Panda: Thanks fot the help with the math.
Liz I'm soo proud w/ all the details, that's a huge Amandian post.
But okay...first off, pit members shower just as much as anyone else, and we certainly don't need naval training, and I've been in fake high school that was even cramper so :-P
I definitely loved Laura, wouldn't say she's soo much better than Sherie, she's certainly a big sweetie and was wonderful, but I also adore Sherie. Ah well, each to her own.
Heh, funny you should talk about how pretty Sara is, at the concert last night, when introducing her Bryan Batt talked about Nine and DRS and just how gorgeous this woman is. It was great. Oh, briefly here, she sang a beautifully lowkey ballad about...I think being a mermaid, if you check the thread on the main board I think someone wrote what it was. Didn't get to see her after But rest of concert was great, again can read bits I wrote on the main board thread.
Leaving soon for the 24-hour plays...ADAM!..Anthony...gah! Also gotta work on my Cheyenne hug, he def recognizes me now, and I do get a big HEY!...hmmm, any suggestions?
No prob Traci, MATH IS FUN!

And Greg is just AWESOME. You are so lucky that you could meet him...
Hey guys. No computer yet. The guy who has been working on it wasn't there.. and I don't have any time to pick it up tomorrow.. so unless Kadey can pick it up for me, I won't have it until Wednesday. Le sigh.

don't hate, Liz! :)
there needs to be a revival of L5Y.
has anyone seen the Sweet Charity movie w/Shirley McLaine in it?? Chita Rivera is one of the Fandango girls and creeps me the heck out! After seeing Sweet Charity on the 16th, I'm totally into it. The cast is weak (with exception of Dennis!!), the dancers all dance at different skill levels...but I don't know, I just loved it. Maybe it's just the hopeful love story??
