Okay, so I had an amazing night that requires a huge post that well doesn't really have anything to do w/ Greg or even DRS, oddly. But I'm soo excited, and this is really the place where I tell all my stories and the only place I could post about everything, so bare w/ me, but it's awesome stories anyway!
Warning: at times I may sound a tad more like a fangirl than I tend to, but we all have our moments...
K, so like I said, tonight was the 24-hour plays. Had a wonderful dinner at...who can guess...Olive Garden...was great too, I got there later than I intended b/c I was trying to park on the street so my friend(who wasn't going w/ me tonight so we just had dinner) said I was in a big rush and we had all our food by 7:20(got there at like 7, twas awesome). Gave a nice tip. Left at like 7:40, so saw Em, Liotte and other ppl who got student rush tickets and chatted w/ them until I went up to my seat. Front row mezz, dead center. No aisle though, kinda sucked. Let's see...you know what, will actually try to make this shorter. Not really gonna talk about the plays themselves, may post some on the main board, but they'll be stuff there by others if not be.
But to give an overview, they explained to us that at about 10PMish last night all of the actors came in w/ a costume and prop, then the writers had until 6AM to write a 10-minute play choosing who to put in their shows...the directors came in at 7AM to select plays, and the actors at 8AM to rehearse and then performed them at 8PM tonight. Let's see...Tracie Thoms, Wilson Jermaine Heredia and...surprise celebrity guest...Hayden Christiansen!(gah) was in the second play...ADAM was in the 3rd play...man as soon as he came on stage I started smiling and breathing, didn't know how I was gonna get a word outta my mouth to him after...Cheyenne and Elizabeth Berkley(Jesse from Saved By The Bell) were in the 4th show, and Anthony was in the 5th(just mentioning the ppl I was really excited about).
Anyway...okay...after the show, ooh funny quick story about how Wilson was randomly in the box on the second level(all of the actors not on stage were in the box on the first level) but then all the actors were supposed to go on the stage at the end so I could see Wilson get an oh ****! look on his face and ran down to the stage, it was amusing.
Okay...soo...being dead center w/ no aisles took me a while to get down. Hrmph. As I get down, begin to look for some friends, and there's ADAM! He's...gah...great. He was already pretty bombarded but thank god I got to him before he left(Emcee helped make sure that didn't happen). So at this point I forgot my Rent movie mini-poster, decided there's too many ppl I want pics w/, so I would just aim for pics and not worry about autographs. At this point Adam was posing so I throw my camera at someone and manage to get out a "you were so great tonight." He gave a big smile, said aww thanks, very sincere. Shook a little, but not even as bad as when I talked to Michael Grief, twas short, but I was very proud of myself. He's very tall. Again, being bombarded, not much chance to say anything else but...yaay...Adam
Then...ooh Hayden came out...now in the play...see his hair is different than the movie...more roundish so both on stage and in the lobby I had to confirm to myself it was him but then I got a pic w/ him. Ahh, gorgeous. What a great surprise guest!
Then Wilson came out, with Tracie not far behind. Obviously they were asked to sign a lot, so I kinda waited till they were done. My friend had the idea to ask both of them to take a pic w/ her, and they separated a bit to sign, but then were back together and I got a pic w/ both of them. Talked to Wilson(sweetie) for a little bit about the screening they watched of the Rent movie last night...he said he loooved it. Then he grabbed my shoulder(okay I was in a shirt that, well, you'll see the pics, cam is almost done, but like it's shoulderless, my shoulders were bear, it was long sleeves but the sleeves end on my arm, okay yeah...so in my head...wow..Wilson's touching my bare shoulder(okay, I'm allowed to sound like a fangirl every now and then) anyway okay, so while holding his hand on my shoulder(teehee) he said you know what, you are gonna love the movie. It's fantastic, he was so into it and moved that last night he seriously forgot he was even in the movie, just viewed it as the film, not thinking about making it. Gah, I'm so excited! Very nice, he's adorable.
Then one of my friends is good friends w/ Anthony, so she was running around crazily trying to figure out where he was, finally he came out...it was quite amusing they talked for a while, while we were in a semi-circle around them, totally oblivious...I was kinda in back/next to her and Anthony didn't even see me in that eye frame...finally someone else started talking to him, so I started talking to my friend, so he turned back to her/us and finally proceeded to notice me and was like ohh, hey! I laughed. Gah, I love Anthony. Just as great as Greg. Talked to us at least 20 minutes about the screening, about some premiere events, about...wow I don't even remember. But my friend and I and well another friend of ours who talked a bit talk really loud and really fast(as lots of you well know about me) so I really give him credit for keeping up w/ us, lol.
Wow, just realizing I can't remember what else we talked about...guess it gets to be a blur. Oh well, I love him. Oh he was signing and posing for my pics and my friend was like oh, for old time sake and took a pic so then I was like okay I want one too b/c the only pic I have is him as Mark as the Rent set...heh he was like "ah all glamarous." Then Tracie came over, they were leaving together, but ya know Anthony will never leave if you are still talking, and considering me, that does not bode well for him. At one point I was just like the hell w/ it and I said ya know, can I be a picture whore and take one w/ the both of you? So I took a pic w/ Anthony and Tracie. Finally I think they were leaving, Anthony somehow got to a bye, and I said at the end "ya know I've always adored you as a performer, but really now I love you even more as a person." It's the truth. Can say the same about quite a few people...
At that point, everyone except me and this other girl who loved SBTB left b/c we were waiting for Elizabeth Berkley. She had just come out, but was talking to friends so we waited. At that same time, someone else had stopped Anthony...poor guy...but then him and Tracie posed for a pic where they were hugging it was soo cute, so I ran over to snap that picture, said bye one more time. Then got a pic w/ Elizabeth. The two of us had been debating mentioning SBTB and/or Jesse but finally decided against it, just told her she was great tonight. As the character, she is quite tall.
Finally, walked out w/ new friend(I always make new friends at events, loved it) realized I could drive her 20 blocks to her dorm on my way home, and I had my Wicked CD in, she said she can do a perfect Glinda and she def could, so I put on What Is This Feeling...got to her place shortly thereafter but we pulled over and finished the song, haha. Fun fun night. Well except for the rainy drive home. But yaay. i can't wait to get all these pics developed...
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
