How would Annie reach the top of his head though?
Hahaha, that's an amusing question I posed to Patrick actually...
That's all right. That was just my typo. The 'un' didn't come out.
- Ali's there
Alright, I'm off to oboe. Wish me luck! I'll talk to you guys on Saturday, if not before then. I won't be camming tonight .

I didn't know John was in the movie Orange County. We caught the last hour of the movie on TV, and there he was. It was funny seeing him kiss Catherine O'Hara.

lol. Oh mamie, you did make me look pervert.
Ooh forgot--you play oboe?? That's awesome! I play clarinet and now saxophone, I played oboe for a couple of months--never got too far w/ it but always wanted to, am going to look into it soon...any advice for a clarinetist starting oboe?
NOT perverted. HEALTHY normal girl.
Ali's probably come and gone by now. The cam's not updating.

lol. I hope the cam is not stucked.
and yeah: I AM NORMAL...I hope everyone heard that.
Normality is overrated.
Maybe Greg's just having lots of difficulty w/ the sock...
Could be. (Wanna go help him?) I think he's probably on his way home now.
Haha, of course we are all perfectly normal...as Zepka said about me earlier in another thread:
"and nooooooooooo you're NOT crazy... not you... never... "

Well, I'm off to make some peach muffins and then take a nap. I hope to see some of you here later (if I wake up).
PS - Annie - send me one, will you?
I dunno...I love Greg, but I will see him soon...and I'm not a huge fan of socks. They smell.

oooooh! I want to be part of this musical!
Annie- Im 13, almost 14 (June) :)
And I don't have much advice for starting oboe. I went from piano to guitar to oboe, and none of those instruments are alike in the way you play them. People say oboe's really hard, but not for me. I guess because clarinetist's are used to one sided reeds, its hard. But seriously, don't let double reeds intimidate you.
Actually, my clarinet friend tried playing my oboe once and she could do it easily- the tone was just not good. She also complained that the reed was vibrating her mouth so much she couldn't play; so I'm assuming that the embrochures are very different.
If you have any oboe related questions now or in the future, I'd be happy to answer them. I've been playing for 3 years, and if I may flatter myself: I don't suck. Too much. :)
Nothing wrong w/ admitting you don't suck
Speaking of instruments, I can't find my clarinet anywhere, ulgh! I actually find it easier to get from smaller to bigger mouthpieces than vice-versa, like w/ sax I just have difficulty w/ the lowest notes where I really hafta open big, but yes the embrochure is very different. I picked clarinet b/c I love the sound of it, but I love the sound of oboe just as much.
Woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah woah!
SOMEONE LIKES THE SOUND OF THE OBOE!!
Am I the only one who spells it w-h-o-a? Hmm...intriguing..I play drumset, what do I win?
"w-h-o-a"
Isn't that what you say to a horse to get it to stop?
