yeah i saw on one of his dresses that it was completely frayed (in a misconstructed not deconstructed way) although I love Dan, i really think that his work reflects that he is out this week, but who knows.... i actually really dislike A LOT of Chloe's after looking at it more closely.... one mauve jacket is just awful.... and i really think that Santino's collection was clearly the best

Santino's collection has some beautiful color and texture combinations, and some of the silhouettes are lovely. He seems absolutely unable to deal with women's breasts, however.

Scrolling down the page of thumbnails, Chloe's collection looks very sophisticated, very coherent and with a nice variety. Once you study the individual images, however, there are a lot of unsatisfactory pieces, and too much shiny satin (silk?).

I'm actually drawn to a lot of Kara's pieces.

Santino doesn't give a damn about his client. He's made that obvious many times, including the horrible jump suit for Kara. Good idea, horribly execution. It made her stomach look huge.

And, he lied to Nina.. to her face. I hope she bitch slaps him next week for that.

I read the NYT and it gives away the names, or maybe I'm reading it wrong.

They name all four, and describe each collection. What's the giveaway? They call Daniel the favorite, but that's an editorial opinion, not a giveaway.

this is just thinking out loud, but i was playing the "one of these things is not like the others" game with the four collections...and Kara was the only designer whose model did not end her show... last season, Austin was the only designer whose model did not end his show... could this mean that she is the out designer, as the whole point of the show is a competition for designers AND models?

Human Touch, I don't know if I would have been paying close enough attention to be aware of the model thing.

oh Torch, I really hope you are wrong. I'm totally rooting for Daniel, he's my pick for the winner re: The Official Project Runway Season 2 Thread I don't think Chloe stands a chance at this point because the competition is between Daniel and Santino (blah)

I realize Chloe said she was unsure whether or not she wanted to be in the final 3, but for Daniel and Kara to backstab her like that was just wrong.

Daniel's gown looked gorgeous on Iman and I thought the color was great.

I was very surprised that Kara and Daniel went after Chloe as well. Both had said that Santino should've gone the week before, and Chloe won. She has consistantly done very good work, tho not winning alot of challenges, was often the clear runner up.

Of the collections, I loved Daniel's and Kara's and hope one of them wins. I am upset that Chloe's was so...bad. Santino's was good, but not a true collection, imo...Daniel and Kara had vision for all of the pieces and put them together beautifully.

Debra Messing, btw, is on alot of best dressed lists in Hollywood (not that I agree) and that may be the reason they chose her to judge.

Maybe when push came to shove, Chloe's heart just wasn't in it. She had mentioned that she lived that life and it's hard, which is why she moved to Texas.

I still think it was kind of strange that Wendy wasn't there last night.

I think they all dissed Chloe because she was up front about maybe not wanting it as much.

Santino could very well win the whole thing.

I thought last night's designs were a big disappointment all around. Pretty, but rather boring.

I would have chosen Daniel's dress as well. It was the prettiest. Although, I loved the color of Santino's gown - but I didn't like the "fish scales!" That gold color would look fabulous on Iman.

i've never seen debra messing on a best dressed list. never. some tv show may have picked her gown as among the nicest for a certain event but she is not well dressed in life. she is a celebrity and that is reason enough, i guess. iman would have been a fantastic judge for the finals. she is my favorite model, ever. smashing, stylish and intelligent.
i was shocked at how boring and bad the gowns were. can kara make a decision? she never seemed to know who she was or what she was doing. she seemed passionate about achieving fame or success but not about her ideas or the process of creating. santino's was ugly -- and made the finals because among that group ugly is at least something. i'm just sad about the whole thing.

I'm also thinking that the should have been given more time and a slightly bigger budget for the evening gown competition. Some times inspiration takes time so I give them that when some of them have been lacking creativity.

I can see that both Kara and Daniel were annoyed by Chloe's not being sure if she wanted the responsibility of winning, they still sold her out in a way. I think they may have felt more threatened by her than Santino.

Given time and a true thought process, tho, Santino did so much better than most of the challenges with his collection.

Remember in judging last week, that one of the judges told Daniel that he was very lucky to have had immunity or he would've been out and not Nick. I cannot imagine the finals without him.

But I still miss Nick and look forward to what he's got in store for the reunion...

Does anyone else here hate Nina? She never seems to have anything nice to say to anyone and half the time she just repeats what her fellow judges are saying. Am I alone on this one?

i think andrae was a much more interesting designer than any of these four over all. chloe's collection was so DYNASTY flavored i had to laugh. especially after daniel f's lingerie (that she sewed) was unfavorably compared to something joan collins would wear. i think kara just couldn't cope with the time constraints and the environment. she did better after she went home to do her dummy collection. hey -- she got to show in the tents! good for her! i am interested in the reunion (especially as tim gunn seems to go off about something) but i'm not excited about the finale. go online and see designs by diana eng. they are actually good and i liked her so much.

I'm trying to see Santino's work as new and innovative, but I can't help but think each one except his first one is too over the top and silly looking. Last night's gown to me looked ridiculous, the paillettes just looked like he took each bunch like a bunch of grapes and stuck it on haphazardly. Daniel's gown to me was nice, elegant, well made, and Iman chose it wisely. However, I'm not blown away by any of the designers this season." I don't care much" who wins. (Isn't that a gorgeous song, btw?)
