Good point - thanks for the corrrection. OK, so it's a "mentorship" with BR (darn semantics!). Either way, my point was that Chloe's style seems to work well as a BR look. Daniel V.'s too.

jay mccarroll refused the 100K because i think it carried some sort of obligation from BR and he didn't want to be controlled. he got the $$ for his line from somewhere else. i still wish andrae were around. his "gutter water" gown was wonderful. while daniel's "orchid" blouse was well made, you have to be absolutely flat chested to wear it and not look completely out of proportion.
they've painted kara as such a basket case -- unable to make decisions and take any heat at all -- i wonder about her as a designer. perhaps she's better with more time, but i remember how snoozeworthy her barbie ensemble was. michael carbs said it was a "fabuous childrens wear project" and how tim got her to leave off the bri-brac from the neckline (like the trim on her original muslin cocktail dress) because it looked like "happy hands at home."
-- i love how heidi has come into her own as a judge this year -- showing much greater acumen and bitchslapping michael carbs around.

Heidi's voiceovers last night were so obvious. Though I've noticed that on other programs as well.

sometimes they have heidi dubbing her own voice because she can't get it right on the spot --but last night was odd. when they said "and now for the winner..." they said "kara...your outfit is blah blah blah and chloe your outfit is blah blah blah" in the past they just announce the winner and move on. it was confusing. i think they wanted to reinforce that it was between kara and chloe. i think kara makes final 3 with chloe and dan. i think santino is the red-herring. they show tomorrow in the tents -- i work in the conde nast building so i'm going to try to pop over there in the morning to see if i can see anything, but the security is very tight.

Hmmm I don't remember it that way. I remember they make comments about each of the remaining two and then announce the winner.

Well last year they had Austin put together a runway show as to not give away who the "real" finalists were. I'm hoping it will be Dan, Chloe and Kara.
Did you notice that in the promo for next week's episode that Kara Saun and Jay will be back again, but there was no sign of Wendy?

I still think that Nick should have stayed rather than Santino. Really, what has Santino done that is remotely wearable?

I agree iflilt, but don't forget Santino's on there for the drama. Without him, it's too boring.

Though you have to admit that Santino's calmed down just a bit since the earlier episodes.

santino has been edited to appear more likeable, a bit more human. nick has appeared whiny and dan is getting bitchier. i haven't liked one of santino's creations since "clothes off your back" (which i adored) his graffiti dress is what gives me pause. it was completely shapeless and unflattering. it was a muu-muu topped by a sports bra.

i cannot wait until next week, it appears that daniel is gonna go off on santino for nick being out. oooh, i hope so cuz after they showed that part of the damn jumpsuit was hot glued together i dont understand how his yucky ass weren't out. they had 2 DAYS and santino still couldnt get it together, what will he do with 3 months if he gets in the top 3? no, no, no, no santin-NO!

Why ew? I wouldn't say she's ultra-glam or anything, but oh well.
I'm on the fence about Nick leaving. It definitely takes a big chunk of the show.
And I've always thought Wendy was a hag. I hated her. and her designs.

Is Messing who they have to design the evening gown for? Hmm. Could be interesting...
Wendy wasn't a designer by any means. She can sew, and that's about it.
Will she be on next week too?

If so, she wasn't showed.
Did anyone else think Daniel resembled Austin when he went down the runway? Just picture him with blond hair.

Wendy may be too busy on Celebrity Poker to do an appearance on Runway.

I think Debra Messing would be an interesting person for whom to have them design an evening gown. She is more "mature" than the models, and she has more of a womanly figure, too. She's pretty without being exotic or high-glam. To make a garment that would work both for her and for the model wearing it on the runway would require really thinking about the person one is designing for...
Could be fascinating.

agreed about wendy pepper. she is a dressmaker and competant tailor. her collection last year was incoherant. kara saun's clothes were beautifully made but they looked too much like gucci -- i mean EXACTLY like gucci --for her to be a winner.
i don't consider debra messing to be someone who has shown any sort of interesting flair or style. i think she is a legitimate choice as a celebrity guest to design for, but she should not judge the whole shebang. on a personal note, i find her unfunny and sort of desperate.

I sat two tables away from Messing at a performance of Beach Blanket Babylon a few weeks ago, and she is absolutely stunning in person. Nothing like Grace at all - I was really surprised.

no, daniel doesnt remind me of austin - mainly because daniel is not as femme as austin (did you see his tribal arm tat?) and both of daniel's eyes are real.
last season's guest judge for the finale was parker posey - she's great and all, esp. loved her "hurlyburly" hair, but i wouldnt call her a fashion icon, would you?
i'm surprised there hasnt been a wendy moment this season, no one has any pics of their family for someone to slap a hitler moustache on.
while i do agree that daniel, chloe, and kara are all "nice", santino is just a jackass and too drama for me. what is his deal with being anti-social in the greenroom, separated from the group, head in hands. he didnt even say goodbye or hug nick.

She sure has Dottie - I have seen her on three different times in fact. What's even worse is - she is a REALLY good poker player!
