Did anybody else wonder how Laura went from being a twig one week to be very noticeably pregnant the next. Boy did she pop!
That's because she's a twig. Women who are naturally thin show very early in their pregnancy, because any weight gain would be noticeable.
Sucks that they brought Angela all the way to Paris just to kick her off. Then again, I don't particularly like her, so I'm not that sympathetic.
I love that Michael modeled and I can definitely see that. After the show barely acknowledging him in the first few episodes, it's been interesting to find out more about him as time goes on. And his outfit looked great. On another board I read, people complained last week when he chose Robert's sister, because she was thin and young, which was too "easy" in comparison to the other mothers and sisters, but this challenge kind of proved that his talents aren't that limited.
The right person went home, but if Vincent hadn't won last week, he would have been in the bottom 2 this week. They kicked off Robert for being too boring and with the exception of getting lucky last week (which was probably more Uli's mom than his design) all of Vincent's designs have been completely off the wall or totally boring. What's creative about literally copying pants you already own, then making a sweater anyone can pick up at the Gap?
The diamond crotch was too over the top for me, but the outfit in general worked, I thought.
I'm not a Laura fan at all. Her clothes do not appeal to me in the least. It's just a matter of taste.
I loved Uli's dress. I hope MIchael and Uli are in the top three.
Must confess...did not watch last night, but I love a spoiler. I just went to the website...
My GOD. This is BEAUTIFUL...say what you will about the woman, DAMN can she make a dress.
SHE is also absolutely stunning.

Love the woman AND the dress. She looked fantastic.
Jaily, I have nothing against the woman, and I'm sure she's a good craftsman (or woman, lol). I just really dislike her stuff! and her clothes too. oy.

I think that Sparkledick will make his way into the final three instead of her, Jane.

Ditto that. She, and her clothes, are gorgeous. I would buy that dress in a heartbeat.
Jaily - the back was pretty too - it had the same ruching in a sort of a criss-cross pattern over the back and a knotted sash at the waist. It's hard ot tell in the photo, but the skirt I think was a matte material, while the ruched parts had more of a sheen - but in the same color.
It was simply lovely.

I want her to win a challenge already.
Why do you think that, Blueroses? I mean, even though I don't like her clothes, I recognize her talent. Maybe Jeff will make the top three because of his "now" attitude?

I don't know, Jane, it's just a feeling (hope I'm wrong). Whether through another contestant's recent immunity or win (hellooo Wendy Pepper!), or some last minute stroke of bad luck, a deserving designer is out of contention for the top three (i.e. Austin Scarlett S1, Nick Verreos S2, etc.) Updated On: 8/31/06 at 01:17 PM
Yeah, well, we have to remember that these shows don't always reward the right people, to say the least!
True, but as is often the case with these reality competitions, in the end the most successful contestants are not necessarily the winners.
Kara Janx is doing very, very well, as is KaraSaun (Maybe it's because they're named Kara?)...
Remember Ruben Studdard? (Who?) Not such a loser anyMORE, our little Gayken, is he?
I like to just wait and see what happens AFTER the silly little show ends and REAL people who can make REAL things happen start getting in touch with these guys/gals.
If EVER I become a drag queen, Laura is making EVERYTHING.

Re: Kara Saun. Her final Aviator-themed collection was drop-dead gorgeous! Loved it. If only we could have seen what Austin had in store. He looked like The Church Lady, but the guy could really design.
OK I'm starting to worry that Michael will lose the competition if Laura, Jeffrey and he are somehow the final 3 contenders. The consensus is that Michael is capable of conceiving brilliant designs backed by 1st-rate execution, and can hawk his wares better than a used car salesman. The problem to me though is that he has not served up a dud yet ala Nick from S2 in a category that is rated his forte. We are approaching the point in the season where one false move can spell instant elimination for a shoe-in. It also pains me to admit that Jeffrey is gaining momentum and a toe-hold on the judges with his style. I'll admit that I underestimated him at the start of the season.
I'm figuring that Laura will edge out Uli in the near term because despite the fact that both are one-trick ponies IMO, Laura is quite mature, shrewd and flexible enough to step out of her comfort zone moreso than Uli if it will guarantee her a spot amongst the final 3. Uli would not dare depart from her prized prints & halter-top dresses despite last night's admonishment from King Cors. Laura's classic sensibility is not to be taken lightly until the final round in which she will be forced to alter the paradigm. Kayne blows hot & cold and cant’ seem to escape his humble beginnings.
During last night's episode, I sensed that Michael is starting to tap out in terms of creativity. The shirt was a bit bland though it was a better option that the t-shirt which he originally envisioned. The bling accessory was the shirt’s saving grace and I’m hardly a fan of bling. The cargo pants were brilliant and something I'd wear personally along with the shirt minus the bling. It's just that I think that Jeffrey is capable of producing any outfit that Michael can conjure up but not vice-versa. Have we seen Michael taken out of his comfort zone yet??? His models to date have all been a good match for his sense of style. How would Michael have acquitted himself with Angela’s rotund Mom???
Friends, this competition is Michael's to lose, just like Kara Saun & Nick Verreos before him and guess what...Jay & Chloe deserved their wins but both got by on the skin of their teeth. I sensed a momentum shift 2 weeks back when Michael barely edged Jeffrey out in the recyclable category. Last night, Jeffrey hinted that he has a score to settle with Michael. There's is the key rivalry this season. To fan the flames further, many fashionistas at other sites have proclaimed Jeffrey a better designer than Santino in terms of pure talent. Laura will be the bridesmaid with her impeccable but safe creations. Vincent & Kayne will be the next casualties, in that order. Why is Vincent still around period ??? Hopefully this season will present the one finale in which no technicality or meltdown will prevent the best designer from winning. We all like it when each designer brings out his/her best game. Forgive me for being so verbose btw.

Oh, I totally take exception with that.
blueroses,
So do I honestly but some DC-area folks in the rags trade claim that Jeffrey has his finger on the pulse on the very commercial "now" look. I'm no fashion savant btw and hated the blinged-out crotch on his skinny pants. I'm just not the kind of dude who kicks skinny pants.

Does anyone else find Laura very reminiscent of Geena Davis? I've been thinking it all season, but especially last night. I was like, "Damn, that girl could get stopped on the street and asked for an autograph."
Yep...when I first peeped Laura, I said to myself 'that gal's a dead ringer for Geena'. I'm really fond of Laura but she comes off a bit 'haughty' at times to me. I'd like for her to loosen up a wee bit. She gives off the "i'm the adult around here" vibe. Maybe it could be chalked up to motherhood.
"Remember Ruben Studdard? (Who?) Not such a loser anyMORE, our little Gayken, is he? "
OK, I'll play-what do you know about Ruben Studdard that suggests he isn't a loser? (although he was announced as the winner)

If I had to have sex with anyone left on the show, It'd be Laura, and then Michael.
oh and I'd bang Vincent before Jeffery, because crazy is slightly more attractuive than ****iness.

But what if Vincent made you wear that basket hat during?
I think I might have worded that confusingly, Jane.
"Not such a loser anyMORE, our little Gayken, is he?"
My point was that even though Ruben WON American Idol that year, he has COMPLETELY faded into obscurity, while the "loser", Mr. Clay D. Lang, has BLOWN UP into a megastar.

it's still better than Jeffery. That whole neck tattoo on top of being the biggest baby/asshole on the planet is just really, really, really unsexy.
oh and LOL at Clay D. Lang
