I'm really EXCITED! I've been rooting for Jeffrey for a while now, and his collection was gorgeous. All four will definitely have a future in the fashion industry, though.

I am SO happy for Jeffrey. Although I didn't care for him much at the start of the season, he really proved himself to be a fresh and innovative designer, and tonight I was definitely rooting for him. Seeing as how there was a chance he wouldn't even get to show his collection at all, I think this was great.

If Uli had won, that would have been far too predictable, IMO.

I am so happy he won...but now what will I do with my Wednesday nights? I'm sure as heck not watching Top Chef.

In comparison to Chloe's winning line last year, what was so innovative about that particular collection? Yet, the used lack of innovation to criticize Laura.

YAAAAAY... i'm so happy... the way the editing went i REALLY thought that Uli would win... Jeffrey's collection was by far the best!!!

Eh. I didn't care for Jeffrey's collection. Yeah, his point of view blah blah blah! But in the end I've got to love the way a collection looks. And I just didn't overall. I did LOVE the cream and green striped dress with the oval fabric on the stomach, with all the funky zippers. That piece was very interesting and really beautiful.

And I wish someone would explain to me why he was wearing Madonna's clothes from her Lucky Star video.

Uli's was fabulous. Laura's was fabulous. Would've been fine with either of the two winning.

Very disappointed with Michael's work--it just wasn't my style--but I love the guy and I felt so sad for him. I wanted to give him a big hug and tell him everything was going to be okay.

SPOILERS

Jeffrey: His colection was pretty good. I loved his green and white dress. Some of the pieces though were a little off.

Uli: My favoirte. I loved everything she made. Fantastic. I thought she should have won.

Luara: I liked it a lot. The constant use of feathers annoyed me, but it was a great collection. I loved her first and final designs.

Michael: Dear God. What was he thinking?

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

The best two collections were definitely Ulli's and Jeffrey's, but over the entire season, Jeffrey has produced the most impressive work.

He has been my favorite since the beginning, and I am so thrilled that he won. He WAS the best one.

Michael was always good...but each and every one of his designs tonight were just FUG.

What a horrid show. This program has fallen off the runway.

Awarding the top prize to a liar, a cheat and a "I'm too hip for the room" attitude queen is disgusting. Jeffrey has displayed his lack of originality over and over again. OK...we got it. You're a rocker. You're cool. But your designs are utter crap.

But then you have the hip-less Michael Coors and Nina Face-lift Garcia trying to recapture their wonderful 40's by drooling over a collection that even Debbie Gibson wouldn't wear. And don't look to Heidi for any help...you can see the light between her ears.

This show has lost any credibility with this decision. The trend continues after last year's debacle where they let the equally "too cool for the room/too untalented" Santino go through just so he would cause the much needed drama to keep this little community access show afloat.

Perfect example of the show's stupidity is when they fawned over Jeffrey's couture gown which looked like a yellow picnic table cloth. Yeah!! This will be the hot look at all the VFW conventions!

The real artists were Laura and Uli. But they criticize Laura for her lack of range, then praise Uli for her range. What range? She used brown floral prints instead of blue? Just because these two didn't design for the Marilyn Mason tour, I guess we neeed to ship them off to Stein-Mart.

This show sucks and I won't be wasting my time any more watching a show that supposedly supports creativity, yet panders to untalented hacks and drama queens for the sake of ratings. It's an insult to any who aspires to create art.

The runway has fallen way off.

Michael's final collection was truly innovative, vibrant, and fresh (of course, the judges savaged it.) Uli went a little too far against her strengths with all those neutral tones. Laura played up her strengths (as she has done throughout the series) and came up with a stunningly beautiful final show. Personal note: What is wrong with having a marked, distinctive style and working to achieve perfection within it (like, say, Oscar Wilde, Mozart, and Shakespeare) as opposed to being mindlessly, trendily "innovative" in ways that will date immediately? Which brings me to Jeffrey's

HIDEOUS

HORRIFYING

COMPLETELY UNWEARABLE

designs. Every one this season has been horrible. The model he took onto the runway for the final judging looked like a peppermint stick. And that yellow mismatched-pattern, badly stitched, thrown-together-in-a-food processor "couture gown" looked like something Kathy Kinney's Mimi would have worn on "The Drew Carey Show"--except that her version would have fit!

I have one question to everyone who watched tonight's episode. If you outsourced work (obviously a cheat), wouldn't you pay for it out of your own pocket and not use the money given to you by the contest?
AND would you keep receipts!?! OK, that's two questions but it bugged the hell out of me!

And when you design your entire collection in a workshop that you own and work in every day and that has a dozen people sewing garments for you is it really outsourcing? Did they actually question his peeps as to what they did for him?
Uli was robbed!

SOMMS, on Tim's podcast he mentioned that Jeffrey worked on his collection in a separate room within the workshop. Technically they weren't allowed to show their pieces to anyone with the exception of a spouse (i.e., Laura's husband). That being said, it's difficult to ascertain whether or not any one of Jeffrey's employees assisted him.

The collection was hanging in the main workspace when Jefrfrey took Tim to see it during his "surprise" visit--not in a separate room.

Oh that's strange, because Tim mentioned that when Jeffrey went to show him his collection, it was difficult to move around because there was so much clutter in that particular room (this is not from me per se, but from the podcast). Oh well.

No matter what the results were last night, all four finalists will do very well.

Well, if what the accusers say is true, let me ask you this-Is it more important to be a good designer or to be able to sew well?

All the sewing skill in the world isn't going to make up for fugly clothes.

Exactly, Jane2. Though I think it helps to have a little bit of both. Is there any harm in knowing what one excels at, and what one likes to design? According to the judges, that's a "bad" thing. Try telling that to Vera Wang (and another design team whose name escapes me at the moment, etc.),

Mr. Tuttle, your post cracked me up, especially since you are right on the money!

Unfortunately the majority of this competition is about the sewing skills and not the design. They get 20 to 30 minutes of design time and one or two days of sewing time. If it were truly a design show each designer would have a dedicated seamstress working for them to create the garment they envisioned.

Let's hope for new judges next season.

SOMMS, you are so right with the timeframe the designers are given. It's funny because some of the shorter challenges were a result of Michael Cors availability and schedule no less!! Though it did seem that things were less harried leading right up to the runway show, in comparison to last season where the designers had to come up with a last minute design.

I kind of like Nina, but there's no way that Heidi is going anywhere as she's one of the producers (though I'd like to see her and Michael go).

Not to beat a dead horse, but did anyone else find it "interesting" that when Jeffrey's shorts were disqualified he decided to make the skirt. Perhaps when he realized that the producers could actually compare that garment's construction to his other pieces he had an epiphany. Voila, a pair of pants that "he" made (but had forgotten about) appeared out of his ass and were put into the show. Pah-leeze!
