Thanks for posting the scan from people mag...
I know there's been discussion here about how different Raulito can look from photo to photo, but I was struck by his resemblance to Freddy Rodriguez (the mortuary guy in Six Feet Under) in this picture. He so seldom looks like Hollywood's idea of a Latino, but he does here. No coincidence, I'm sure, but I'm still trying to figure out what it is that makes it so.
Daphne looks almost... self-protective in that picture. Not that you can blame her, I guess.

You're right. She's like "hands of the rack, Esparza"
the busty muppet comment still has be laughing
Heh, I was just going to say... it's kind of, "Whoa there, buddy." Although it's not like you can MISS THEM.

Yeah, even him!
She's so asking for it with that dress. And Raul's red-faced with the effort not to.
I just watched Raul's Evita clips on Youtube again. The omnipresent cigar made me laugh.
Hah, he was so silly when he told that story in person. Wild hand gestures and everything. I laughed at him and he was like, "I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP."
His Che did look pretty exhuberant. It's even funnier in the context of an article Sweetestsiren mentioned a while back in which Raul remembered his grandpa saying, "I knew that son of a bitch, and he didn't sing and dance!"

Which story, emcee?
I just changed my desktop background on my computer to a very pretty pic of Raul from that "view images" series (one of the ones from an Actor's Fund benefit), because seriously - who doesn't need something pretty to look at when you're wasting away in an office all day, right?
But anyway, I've had SO many people either walk by my desk or send me an e-mail asking who "the really hot guy on your screen" is! Even one of our IT guys asked me yesterday

Nothing like Raul to bring all the facets of a corporation together, hehe.
Emcee is referring to a story Raul likes to tell about his stint in Evita. Guevara's trademark cigar was one of his props, and sometimes he would wave the lit cigar around for emphasis. Apparently one review cited how this cigar was an asset to his performance (or something), and Raul was so excited he decided to incorporate the cigar more actively. So he did... and one performance, he was waving it around and lit the set on fire.

Oh that's right. He mentioned that in one of the playbill interviews, I think. I love bloopers.
Hee, yeah. We were talking about reviews. Company had just opened and I congratulated him on the good reviews. He said he didn't read them (he rarely does), and I was sort of like, "well, but you have to at least know how good they were!" He said that part of the reason he doesn't read reviews is that even the good ones can be damaging -- some actors feel that if they read how much a critic liked a certain aspect of their performance, they'll be very conscious of wanting to be sure they nail it every single time... but they'll overdo it and risk "killing it," so to speak. So after he saw this compliment about his use of the cigar, he really went for it, and lit the wig on fake dead Eva Peron on fire. heh.

lol. As if it's not bad enough that he's playing Che, he's also abusing corpses.
I wonder when they're going to announce the rest of the Our Town cast

lol. So in other words, don't compliment Raul on anything you don't want him to gigantify.... "you know, you really nailed that sex scene with Elizabeth Stanley..."

I'm really curious about who else they'll get!
Yeah, that will be really interesting to hear about.

They announced full casts to some of their other shows, so probably soon.
Cute picture of the whole Company cast in their "I'm a Doylie!" shirts in Kristin's column!
He even posted a big sign for us backstage that said "Whoever reads this, I love you."
That is really cute.
Heh, I wonder if Raul ever made use of his present from Furth.
I was talking to Fantab earlier, before I had gotten to read the story... and when she said "box," well... I thought she meant a REAL box. Not a ring box.
