Look forward to hearing all about it.
I thought about going, but had too much going out to do the rest of the week starting last night. Needed one night free.
Hope they were witty and insightful!
So, someone was a no show. And it wasn't Mano.
tsk, tsk. Rauuuul. You're dropping the ball.
Any idea why not?
No clue.

So glad I didn't go. I would have been furious if Raul didn't show up. I'm sure he had a really really good excuse though.
I have to say the evening was really interesting even though Raúl wasn't there. Oh well.

Oh, Mr. John Doyle. I would paint my face white and learn how to play the tuba for that man.

That sucks, but I'm sure Mano was great! Maybe Raul heard that a certain person was signing autographs with his name and decided he didn't need to show up because Mano could be there for the both of them.
For all the wonderful things he says about Doyle, and the respect he shows for his work, I don't think Raul would flake out on him without a really, really good excuse.
That's what I'd like to think, anyway. Whatever it was, it's unknown, and I suppose it's so because it's none of our business. But, being that I doubt he'd back out on someone like Doyle unless absolutely necessary, I hope he's okay, and all that.
It was kind of ironic, really. I was disappointed, obviously, but I learned so, so much from hearing Doyle speak that it just didn't matter all that much that Raul wasn't there. He would've added a lot to it, but I didn't feel jipped by the lack of his presence.
Doyle's a genius. Seriously.
And an unpretentious genius, at that. Wonderful, brilliant, warm man. It was an absolute PLEASURE hearing him speak.
Just poking my head back in here agin
Today while I was walking home from school, I saw a police officer that looked EXACTLY like Raul. It scared me for a second. Anyways, I saw him smile, but he didn't have the "Raul glow." I was kinda disappointed, but whatever.
