Wow. Lots of happiness on the thread today.
The Vogue picture is...guh. *fans self* It's funny that Kelly's hair is red now; it makes the 3 girlfriends so stereotypical. "A blonde, a brunette and a redhead walk into a bar..."
And to think, I thought his headshot couldn't possibly be improved upon. I like being proven wrong! That's... gorgeous. (Understatement.)
I love the Vogue feature. What great press for the show, and a good angle to play.
I knew color would make it even more attractive, but whoaaa. And his hair's all spikey, which didn't really show in the cropped version. Purdy. :)

The Elle page is still sitting on my desk, awaiting being found a more permanent home.
I find it both amusing and entirely pleasing that he and his "people" are really cranking up the sex-appeal factor. I mean, he has it, so why not use it to advantage? I was going to say it's kind of odd that it's taken this long to really push him as that sex symbol sort of performer, but then again, he's been able to ride almost entirely on his talent thusfar, I guess.
I think that a lot of it has to do with the type of show, too. It's not like you really need (or even want) someone with tons of sex appeal headlining something like Chitty. Robert in Company is all about that, so if the performer's got it, it makes sense to use it. That's the sort of thing that will sell this show. I agree, though, that he's gotten to where he is based pretty much entirely on his talent.
Exactly. It's finally appropriate to push him in that direction. And not really just "appropriate," but it finally fits really well into the show's themes.
And it makes me happy.
He's quite a spiffy little man.

Yes, but primarily because I know someone in the cast and I wanted to see her. I sort of figured I'd end up deciding I DID want to wait for Raul, but I flip-flopped about it for a while. I decided I didn't want to be a bother or anything, so I didn't ask him to pose for pictures (but I did ask him if he would sign my Playbill while we talked). He was EXTREMELY gracious. I didn't know what to say (for a lot of reasons), so I just told him I thought the show was beautiful and congratulated him on it. I probably told him I thought it was beautiful like five times, and I said that I had flown out to Cincinnati to see it, and that I've just been telling everyone I know for months that they MUST see this production because it's so gorgeous. He thanked me like forty times, seemed incredibly sincere, and was very, very sweet.

Aww, he's such a sweetie . I can not wait to see this show in December!
Honestly, I was surprised by how nice he was. It wasn't that he's ever really NOT been nice, maybe I was just nervous for no real reason, but he was very patient and calm, where he can sometimes be like very... neurotic, almost. I suppose it helped that it was quiet and there weren't a lot of people crowding him, plus I was stroking his ego and telling him how much I loved his show, and the fact that I was CLEARLY giving it tons of support, but he just did that thing where he gets really quiet and you can tell he means it, and was like "thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you." No joke, that's probably all he said to me.
Wow, he sounds incredibly genuine. Most actors are always receptive to ego stroking, but that sounds exceptionally nice. And humble. Unlike, say, Adam. But I'm glad it was so awesome.
Well, I think everyone would respond amicably to being told they were amazing and beautiful and awe-inspiring.
*can't stop grinning*
...and going to win a f*cking Tony
Ok, for the record, I didn't tell HIM he was beautiful. hee.
Hee, did someone say that exact phrase to him? Because that would be awesome.
Well....no.
But, you KNOW he's thinking it! He doesn't need to be told
He knows we all think it. :)
I should be like "DUDE. You're gonna win a f*cking TONY!!" and see what happens. The only other time I brought up Tonys around him, he got awkward and squirmy, though. I felt bad, but it was a few weeks before the ceremony, so he was nervous.
True. Lots of people are saying it. I hope that doesn't jinx it.

will raul put out a solo album? he should.
He probably never will; he sees himself as an actor who sings, not a singer. I know he's not too into the idea of a solo performance, but I'm not sure how he feels about like, an album of showtunes or something.
