broadway.com put up more pics of the shoe shopping outing. Very cute! There's a really adorable one of him and his wife.

Okay, let's be honest. That's just a bit awkward.

Yes. Definitely. Broadway.com has always lacked...tact, but the captions especially are just infuriatingly stupid.

The captions actually make me legitimately angry. They're always tactless, but these are inappropriate and unfair. I don't know if they're playing dumb or trying to be especially ridiculous.

The captions really are incredibly tactless. Wouldn't expect any better from Broadway.com.

I'm actually embarassed for them - blatant stupidity doesn't suit anyone. And of course awkwardness abounds.

Heh. My parents are seeing a show today, and my mom called me before it started to ask me if I had seen this month's Playbill yet. I saw King Lear on the 1st, but they were still using February Playbills, so I hadn't. She called to tell me that if I hadn't seen it yet, the little quiz in the front was all about Raúl. the official raul esparza thread

Raul is certainly doing quite well for himself in this show the official raul esparza thread

I really hope your parents enjoy the show.

Oh, those pictures! I honestly don't think that the captions are bad...they venture into tactless territory, arguably, but what would you write if asked to caption those photos? It kind of comes with the territory of trying to be cute that they say things that in this case seem (likely unintentionally) insensitive. Maybe I'm being too optimistic.

Anyway! It was a pleasure to see Company again with some of you this weekend. the official raul esparza thread Every time I see the show, it feels like it has improved so much, but I can't really imagine the cast as a whole being more on than they were Sunday, even with the kinda dead audience. That scene between Bobby and Kathy especially was just breathtakingly gentle and tragic. And seeing Raul sing "Being Alive" is still one of the greatest experiences in my (granted, rather short) theatergoing life.

Total change of direction - just listening to Raul sing "Hair" from HAIR - what fun! I like some of the Actors Fund benefit recording but bought it because of Raul.

Love him singing that. I have to say, though, I also really like Gavin Creel's "Going Down" from that recording.

That's my favorite song on the recording. And I love that Adam's, Gavin's and Raul's are consecutive.

This thread made me laugh a little. Heh. But yeah, I figured people would be confused!

You can change the view so it looks a little more like BWW, with rows and columns, etc. The default layout is hard to get used to.

I used to change it to thread view, and then I realized that only about a fourth of the posts on any given thread are worth reading, and you can often tell those from the titles.

I've always hated that kind of message board set up. It's so 1996.

It recently occurred to me that I'm so remarkably unphased by the Broadway.com caption debacle because my parents have been seperated for 17 years and have lived together platonically for half that time. Celebrities and their interpersonal relationships would have to be awfully messed up to even register for me.

Anyway. Did this thread ever come to a conclusive decision about what he's hiding behind his back here?

Don't think so, but I have wondered what he's standing in front of. Google suggests that it's a wall mural of Cuba.

Wall mural of Cuba makes a bit more sense than my friend's momentary idea that he was standing in front of an Ozian wall mural outlaying Wicked's lay of the land. Just to the left is Kiamo Ko. the official raul esparza thread
